i emailed and asked about a truck that hunter had on the internet they called me and i asked about the condition i was told it looked good i asked again was it in good condition was the body straight, paint good, clean inside oh yes i was told. i wanted to be shure because i was a 65 mile round trip away. when i got there i was shocked at how bad the truck looked not one body part did not have a dent in it the gray inside was black the paint had places flacked off as big as 25 and 50 cent pieces and rust in them. there was at least 100feet of scatches through the clear coat. when i call the salesman out about lying to me he told me it looked good to him. i could go on for ever so to make a long story short stay away from hunter subaru!!!!!!!!!!!
I got my pre-owned car from the dealership just to be sure that I can at least drive it without major investments in fixing it for at least a year! It was a 2003 Subaru Outback, nice car, I really liked it when I saw it. I own that car now and I hate it because it reminds me of the terrible experience I got from Hunter (we actually own 2 Subarus in the family, but one was bought at Hunter Asheville–GREAT experience, the other was bought at Hendersonville–real HELL!). It took them more than 30 days to get me my registration (I was driving without one for about 5 days over legal 30 days). And the coolest part is that 5 days after my 30 days car warranty expired, I got a “check engine” light on! When I went back there they told me that my catalytic converters went off–BOTH of them. They said that it’s very unfortunate, it happens unpredictable, all of a sudden over night! They nicely offered to fix it to me for “only” $1,800! The car that I bought from THEM just 35 days ago! Sales manager Jeff was very nice and pleasant to deal with, but all he could do for me was “give me about $350 discount for labor” So now I have a car, that is unable to pass an inspection unless I put $1,500 in it and I only have 2 weeks to fix it (they never told me when I purchased it that I have to pass the inspection). And the interesting thing is that when I came to pick up my car after they checked it, “the check engine” light were not there, which the service mechanic Helen told me just happens automatically once you plug the computer to the car (I had 3 other mechaniks telling me that you can only shut the light off manually)… So now I am unable to see if the light was there before I got them check on it. Do you really think it’s fair to have such huge expences on the car that you just purchased?!
