Contacted Apple online after seeing a deal on a 2011 Fusion. Went to lot looking for this car on Sunday, it was no where on the lot.I sent an email saying I could not locate this car…no response from Apple as to where it might be. I found a 2012 Focus I liked while on the lot, I went home found it’s internet price and filled out on line credit app. Was contacted by Russ who did nothing for a week while promising an answer from finance dept in 24 hrs. I instructed them to contact me via email as I am seldom in my office but carry my iPod Touch. They will not reply using Email I think because they don’t want to have anything in writing. The on line deals in my opinion DO NOT EXIST, they use them to lure you into the dealership. I even complained to the Internet manager and still no response. I’m 56 been buying cars since I was 18 everything from VW to Mercedes, this is the WORST I have ever been treated by a car dealership. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM APPLE FORD / TELL YOUR FRIENDS DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM APPLE IN COLUMBIA !!
After reading three ex-car salesman’s books on the tricks of the trade and how to get a great deal, Apple Ford did not disappoint in displaying exactly the same slimeball tactics and effectively, if not truly, illegal tactics that are the timeless reputation of the industry (I will find out and they will answer to the law). All dealers suck, so Apple will never suffer any dramatic loss of business no matter how many bad reviews they get, unfortunately. The only thing I hope for is that someday cars can be bought directly from the manufacturer over the internet. But the dealers’ trade association wields political clout and employs hundreds of thousands of jerks who would infest legitimate industries if there weren’t auto dealerships. If you do buy there, be on guard for nickle-and-diming to death on the fees, which charging over and above what is required for tags and such, which is illegal in Maryland, and being taxed on delivery and doc fees, which is also illegal. Remember, walking out is your best weapon and don’t fret — there will always be more and better cars and deals the next day and beyond.
FIRST, DO NOT BE MISLED BY THE POINTS RATING ABOVE. OVERALL, APPLE SUCKS! THE ONLY REASON I GOT A GOOD DEAL IS BECAUSE I FOUGHT THEM AND WOULD NOT RELENT.

A friend recommended that I check out Apple Ford. I went into the dealership to inquire about a new Fusion. I ended up liking and buying a loaded Focus instead. I was approached by Will who quickly picked up on my wants and needs in a car. We compared the 2 cars and I realized that I didn’t need the size of the Fusion and that I could afford the Focus but get some nice perks that I wasn’t able to get otherwise. Will was the pro here. The finance dept helped me work out payments that I would be comfortable with and taking my car for free oil changes, tire rotations etc will help me keep my car expenses down to a minimum. I had checked out a couple other dealerships before heading to this dealership. I feel I got professional but friendly service from Apple Ford without alot of pressure. I am very happy with my Focus and I thank the people at Apple Ford for helping me decide.
I bought a 2006 Ford Mustang -new, from Apple Ford in Columbia, MD. I also purchased the extended 5 year warranty as I was driving my children back and forth from school every day and knew I was putting on about 100 miles a day just from school and work. Before my original 3 year warranty was up, we brought it to the attention of the manager that there was bubbling of the paint on the very front edge of the hood. They said that they noted it and to bring it back. I thought it would be fine to fix because they noted it. When we did take it back it was just over the years (although I purchased the 5 year warranty) they said too late… NOT FIXING IT! Then the cd player stopped working which they did replace. Now, not 2 years later the cd player is broken AGAIN already and they said… too bad NOT FIXING IT, although the car only 4 years old. They said oh well, your 5 year warranty is void after 75,000 mls.
TO make things worse… when I complained about the rusting hood and peeling paint they said… oh yeah sorry. We have seen a lot of the 06’s doing this ….can’t help ya. He said Ford knows the 06’s are rusting out but you can’t do anything about it. Now I have a 4 year old Mustang with peeling paint on the hood and rusting out, a broken cd player that is not ever paid off yet!!! I will never buy a Ford product – nor will I ever do business with or recommend Apple Ford to anyone. I can’t even sell this car for what I should be able to… NEVER AGAIN. I will though get a sign made to display on my Mustang rust thanking Apple Ford for the EXTRAS for everyone to read. Also, I will make them change my oil and fluids for free to get every cent out of them I can. I will not purchase 1 tire, battery, oil filter or wiper blade from them. They will not see 1 more cent from me.
I haven’t bought a car in 6 years and was ready to downsize from my gas guzzler. Jesse walked me through the whole process with ease. I felt comfortable from the minute I stepped in the dealership. I am so happy with my Fusion. Financing was my biggest fear as this year has been hard. The finance department worked with me and I was able to get a payment that worked with my budget. Great place to buy a car!:)
The service area is immaculate. Everything was explained to me in detail and I wasn’t made to feel like I was an idiot! Very professional all the way around. I felt comfortable and not out of my element in a garage. Best of all, I know the price was fair and my car is now running great! I will be back!
🙂
Reeled my son in with the typical scratch-off ad campaign “you may have won 25K! Come in now to claim your prize!” Upon entering the dealer, that ad was immediately tossed aside as they proceeded to bombard him with deals “he can’t refuse” financing “he can’t refuse” a car that he’s “gotta have” etc etc etc.
My son, quickly realizing he was in over his head, tried to back out by saying he could not afford the car. Unfortunately they could not leave it at that (because they obviously know more about my sons financial status than he does) and persisted for the next 2 hours with the “of course you can”, “we can make this work for you” typical dealer BS lines, eventually convincing him that he “really could” afford this thing that he knew deep down inside that he could not.
Needless to say he sold his soul and bought the car. He explained to me the next day that he was so stressed over the purchase that he didn’t sleep at all and was hoping he could take it back. Of course after re-visiting the dealer to see what options he had the response was “you signed on the line, it’s your problem now!”
I realize this is just how these dealers operate, they’re just sharks out for a kill, whatever it takes. My son has learned a hard lesson here, one we are helping him get thru. I only wish Apple Ford could take some lessons learned away from this as well, but to them this was just another successful hook and reel sale. You will not be getting any endorsements from me, and I will be going out of my way to ensure people are aware of my opinions of your low-life business practices. I really wonder how you people can sleep at night.
In my opinion, find somewhere else to go! In my case, while the car was in for repairsthey broke the key off in the ignition. If Apple had an ethical and responsible repair shop they
would have simply repaired the damage they caused. This what Apple did. In the body of a 3
page repair bill, under an item labelled 107580, they reported they had broken the key off inside
the ignition. Shame on me, I didn’t actually read the repair bill word for word. Of course, no one verbally
informed me of the damage at the time I picked up the car. In our the case, unfortunately, the damaged key
would still start the car. We only realize the damage days later when a duplicate key wouldn’t start the car.
When I called them they simply refused to fix the damage claiming 1) they had “informed” us of the damage
when we picked up the car and 2) the key was just “weak” and simply broke (never in my life has a key ever “just broke”
unless forced). Long story short, if they are this creative in refusing to fix damage they caused, imagine how
creative they can be when billing you for a complex repair.
i found the car i wanted online and went to test drive it. The sales person was very friendly and accomodating although was definitely pressuring me to purchase on the spot. The car made a strange rattling noise and had stains on the upholestry which i asked to have taken care of prior to signing for. I was approved for a loan/financing but was told they wouldn’t make any repairs until i had signed. That should have been a red flag right there. They kept the car for an entire week after i had signed for it and claimed that they installed a part in my transmission that came with a 12 month warranty. It has been 6 weeks since then and they still haven’t been able to produce the repair records or the warranty. I returned the car to them within a week because they had never fixed the rattling noise. They kept it for another week and claimed they couldn’t hear the noise. When I initially got the car off the lot and got it home i discovered my tail light was burnt out. I had to put gas in it right away (even though they claim all their cars come with a full tank) and i discovered i had no gas cap! They claim it must have been stolen while the car was on their lot after i purchased it, then the check engine light came on! Within the first 30 days of owning the car, it had spent 2 weeks at the dealership for “repairs” The salesperson I initially purchased the vehicle from was fired so i was passed off between 2 other people, 1 who was actually a manager. These 2 men make unfilled promises, did not return my calls for days on end, i literally had to stalk them on their cell phones to get anything accomplished. i had to ask them to extend my 30 day/1000 mile dealership warranty since they had the car for 2 weeks and thank god I did because the car died and i had to have it towed and the battery replaced 34 days after purchasing. Because of all the trips i made back and forth to their location, time of mine they had wasted, and the fact that the car still wasn’t fixed i asked to be compensated by having them knock money off my loan. They refused and offered to send me a GPS unit instead. That was almost 3 weeks ago and i still don’t have it although they claim to have sent it. When i asked them to provide me with a tracking number to prove it was sent they couldn’t do so. They also still haven’t provided me with the original repair paperwork and warranty for the part and i was told “the paperwork doesn’t exist” That is totally assinine and probably illegal since you can get a work record from Jiffy Lube for getting your oil changed. I finally took the vehicle to another mechanic who was able to hear the rattling noise and repair the problem immediately. He also told me my shocks were loose and bad and needed to be replaced and the car should have never been sold in that condition. I regret ever setting foot into this dealership. Once they had my money the customer service stopped. They all got a comission off me and after that they couldn’t manage to return phone calls, emails, or fix the initial problem i was promised would be repaired once i signed for the car. If you want to get screwed over and taken advantage of then this is right dealership to accomplish that. Their employees dropped the ball on every promise they made me and tried to lie to cover their errors. In this economy they should be appreciative of every customer that brings them business rather than being rude and negligent.
