This company is the biggist scam! We were hired to work for bickmore repairing some perimeter lighting by one of the owners kent miles bickmore and after we fixed all the lights he ask for, he got the bill, and we received no phone call for 28 days from completion of job. So then we finally got ahold of him for him to say he is not paying, he will see us in court! I’m sorry but all people thinking of buying from them better think again. If the owner is that low not to pay his bill then I think that says alot about his company.
Bickmore Auto Sales is deceitful, deceptive, untrustworthy, and unscrupulous. This used car dealer should be avoided at all cost. They are the definition of everything a slimy used car dealer can be.
I bought a 2002 Subaru from Bickmore Auto Sales on 9/18/2010. After what I thought was a thorough test drive I paid $5400 plus $315 for a service contract (warranty). I bought the warranty specifically because I knew these engines have a history of failing head gaskets and the salesman ensured that this warranty would cover head gasket failure. This was an extra cost over the standard warranty that does not cover gaskets/seals.
On the trip home to Kennewick, WA the check engine light illuminated. After getting home I had the car checked at our local Subaru dealer, McCurley Subaru. The main reason for this was to have the car detailed to get rid of the dirty dog smell. They found that the car required both head gaskets to be replaced along with the front crank seal, the left front CV boot, and the catalytic converter. They provided an estimate of $2,008 for everything except the catalytic converter. The service tech suggested getting the catalytic converted replaced elsewhere. I obtained 2 more estimates ($2,204 and $2,035) at local independent shops. I relayed this information to both the warranty company and then to Kent Bickmore, owner of Bickmore Auto Sales. The warranty company indicated that they would cover only those items that were not “long-term” problems. He told me that they would have to inspect the repair and provide coverage accordingly. Since the inspection obviously required taking the heads off, I would be committed to the repair and any associated costs. I spoke repeated with Kent Bickmore hoping he would help with the repair cost to make the car reliable. He talked me in circles. At first he questioned the need for the repairs, then he questioned the costs. He found similar cost estimates from his own mechanic. He offered to refund the price of the warranty so that I could apply that to the repair bill. But then I would be left with no warranty on a questionable car. He suggested replacing the engine instead of repairing it. The only used engine I could find was $3000 with only a guarantee to run (once I guess). At one point in our many conversations, Kent offered to pay $500 toward a used engine. Then he stopped taking or returning my phone calls. Maybe he felt something like a conscience interfering with his normal cold-hearted robotic screw everyone for a buck lack of morality.
At the dealership they had posters advertising for Carfax. When I inquired about getting a Carfax statement on this car, the salesman told me that it was a waste of money and that it would only show me the obvious things and if there were any out of the ordinary items they would just be omitted from the report. So I took his word and skipped the Carfax report. The new title indicates that it is a former rental car. Neither the salesman or the owner of the dealer (Kent Bickmore) divluged this information.
Stay far far away from this used car scam of a dealership.
