There’s definately a lot to learn about this issue.
I love all of the points you have made.
I have a SERIOUS COMPLAINT with a company called NORTHWEST MOTORSPORTS. I WAS SCAMMED, LIED TO AND RUSHED INTO A CONTRACT ASSURED THE VEHICLE WAS PERFECT FOR THE 1. REQUEST I HAVE BOTH OVER THE PHONE PRIOR TO COMING IN AS WELL AS IN PERSON. LONG STORY SHORT NOT ONLY AM I DISABLED BUT WHEN I CAME IN I WAS JUST 10 DAYS OR SO FROM A SERIOUS VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS REAR ENED BY A MAN CARELESSLY SPEEDING IN THE RAIN. I DISCLOSED ALL OF THIS TO LET HIM KNOW THAT ITS MY FIRST TIME EVER GETTING FINANCING HOWEVER BECAUSE OF MY CURRENT CONDITION I CANT BE AVAILABLE FOR A LENGTHY PROCESS CAUSING A LONG PERIOD OF TIME RELATING TO THE OVERALLS PROCESS. I WAS ASSURED IT WONT TAKE LONG HE HAS TONS OF VEHICLES THAT FIT WHAT IM LOOKING FOR “NO PROBLEM “ HE SAID. UPON ARRIVAL HE CONTINUED TO EXCESSIVELY CONVINCE HE HAD WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AND WOULD TAKE CAR OF ME. STANDING IN PLAIN VIEW AND SPEAKING LOUD ENOUGH I THEN AGAIN TOLD HIM MY ONLY 1. REQUEST AND IF HE COULD NOT GET IT IM OK WITH THAT AS WELL AS I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE. SAM VALAIRERE AND HIS BROTHER JAMES VALIRERE LITERALLY TAG TEAM SCAMMED, LIED AND CONVINCED MYSELF AND MY SON THAT WE WERE IN THE BEST OF HANDS. AFTER SAM GOING IN AND OUT OF A ROOM WITH HIS BROTHER JAMES AND ANOTHER EMPLOYEE WITH THE DOOR SHUT TO GET US FINANCING 5 HOURS INTO THIS PROCESS I STARTED TO FEEL MY SEVERE PAIN RETURNING SO WHEN SAM CAME OUT OF THE ROOM AGAIN I EXPLAINED THAT I COULD BE MUCH LONGER BECAUSE IM STARTING TO EXPERIENCE PAIN HE THEN STATED TYPICAL COMPASSIONATE WORDS OF UNDERSTANDING AND STATED THEY WERE ALMOST DONE JUST WAITING FOR THE FINANCING COMPANY TO RETURN THEIR CALL ONCE MORE. LONG STORY SHORT ANOTHER 45 MINS PASSED WHILE HIS BROTHER WAS TRYING TO TALK US INTO NOT LEAVING AND DOING HIS TAG TEAM EFFORTS AND COLLECTING PHOTO COPIES OF OUR DOCUMENTS AND DRIVER LICENSES MINE AND MY SON CLAIMING HES DOING HIS PART TO FURTHER SPEED UP THE PROCESS THEN JOINED HIS BROTHER BEHTHE CLOSED DOOR THEY WERE BAVK AND FORTH IN FOR MANY HOURS. I SAID LISTEN I HAVE TO GO NOW AND NEEDED MY LICENSE AT THIS TIME THEY RETURNED FROM THE ROOM WITH PAPERWORK AND IT WAS A SIGN HERE INITIAL HERE RUSH CLAIMING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT MY PAIN AND DISCOMFORT BOTH SAM AND HIS BROTHER TALKING US INTO OUR SECOND CHOICE VEHICLE AFTER TELLING US OUR FIRST CHOICE WOULD REQUIRE AN 8,000 DOWN PAYMENT THOUGH I WAS CLEAR WE HAD 4,000 TO PUT DOWN. HE THEN GOT UP WENT BACK INTO THAT ROOM WITH HIS BROTHER CAME OUT AND SAID ITS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT 8,000 BUT THE SECOND VEHICLE HAS THE SYSTEM SET FEATURE YOU ASKED FOR AND WE CAN TAKE YOUR 4,O00 FOR THAT BUT $500 ADDITIONAL WOULD BE NEEDED CAN I HAVE THE BALANCE NEXT WEEK I STATED YES. HE SAID OK LETS FINISH SIGNING AND GET YOU HOME TO REST YOUR INJURIES ACTING LIKE HE WAS VERY CONCERNED ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER JAMES. PAPERWORK SIGNED ASSURING THE “ENTIRE” IM GOING TO LOVE IT HAS EVERYTHING I ADKED FOR. ONCE SIGNED HE THEN USHERED US TO A BACK ROOM TO TOM TRUEX. WHO SAID THE CAR WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION ONE OWNER AND TUNED UP, OIL CHANGED JUST A GREAT VEHICLE TALKING ABOUT HIS CHILDHOOD AND WHATEVER HE COULD SAY TO MAKE US COMFORTABLE WHILE OF SIGN HERE INITIAL THERE LETS GET YOUR MOM HOME TO REST HE KEPT TELLING MY SON AND I AS WELL AS THAT IF THERE IS ANY ISSUES MECHANICAL OR OTHERWISE THAT WE ARE TO CALL THEM, BRING IT IN AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT “OF COURSE AT NO COST TO YOU” SAID IF NEED BE WE WOULD GET A CAR TO DRIVE AGAIN, AT NO COST TO US WHILE REPAIRS WERE MADE. SEE WE TAKE EXCELLENT CARE AND CONCERN OF OUR CUSTOMERS. FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS THE CHANGE OIL NOW WARNING ALONG WITH THE BALD TIRES AND THE NONEXISTENT FEATURE SET I ADKED FOR. I CLEARLY STATED I DONT CARE ABOUT EXTRA MILES JUST THIS FEATURE SET. “HANDS FREE”. NOT HAVING THE VEHICLE 24 HOURS I CALLED SAM AND HE APOLOGIZED AND SAID HE WOULD SPEAK WITH HIS MANAGER IMMEDIATELY AND WOULD SEE IF THE VEHICLE COULD BE SWAPPED OUT DONT WORRY ILL TAKE CARE OF YOU DIDNT I TELL YOU THAT. I WENT TO MY DAILY 3 TIMES A DAY DR.S AND THERAPISTS APPOINTMENTS AND WAITED FOR A CALL THAT NEVER CAME. I CALLED HIM BACK LEFT VOICEMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES THE NEXT 2 DAYS ONLY TO GET A CALL BACK ON THE THIRD DAY TO SAY HE WAS STILL WAITING ON A RESPONSE BUT WOULD CALL ME FOR SURE LATER THAT DAY AND STILL SPEWING HIS USED CAR SALESMEN LIES AND EVADING. NOW DAY 4 I GET A CALL FROM THE FINANCE GUY TOM TRUEX TO SAY ONE MORE FORM WAS NEEDED I PLEADED MY DISSATISFACTION WITH THE VEHICLE AND WHY AND HE SAID HE DONT HANDLE THAT BUT WOULD DEFINITELY SPEAK WITH SAM LIKE HE WAS DOING ME A FAVOR. DAY 5 MORE IGNORING MY CALLS MORE TEXT MESSAGES IGNORED YET VOICEMAIL FROM TOM ABOUT EMAILING THE SIGNED PAPERWORK BACK TO HIM THAT HE EMAILED TO HIM. I DID RELUCTANTLY EMAIL IT BACK AND CALLED TO ASK ABOUT MY ISSUES CALL WASNT RETURNED. THAN I CALLED THE MAIN NUMBER TO THE STORE VERY UPSET BUT POLITE DEMANDING TO SPEAK WITH THE MANAGER. I SPOKE WITH DOMINIC WHO PLAINLY TOLD ME I HAD THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND HE WAS ONLY WILLING TO PAY SOME OF THE COST TO REPLACE THE ILLEGAL TIRES AND AS FAR AS THE FEATURES SET MISSING FROM THE CAR HE GAVE ME A STORY OF HIM UPDATING HIS CAR FOR $5-6 HUNDRED AT CAR TOYS I SAID WELL SAM HAS ALL WEEK CLAIM THAT HE WAS WORKING ON LETTING ME TRADE OUT THE CAR TRYING TO FIND ONE EVEN TOLD ME TO CHECK THE WEBSITE FOR ONE BUT WORK ON REACHING CAR TOYS WHOM HE CLAIMED YALL WORK WITH VERY OFTEN TO GET THE FEATURES IN THE CAR I HAVE IF I WAS WILLING TO KEEP THE CURRENT CAR. FOR DAYS SAM AND HIS BROTHER WHOM IT REACHED THE SECOND DAY WHEN SAM WAS BLOWING ME OFF. THIS CRAP WENT ON ALL WEEK BEGINNING WITH LESS THAN 24 HOURS OF POSSESSION OF THIS VEHICLE HE THAN CUT ME OFF MID SPEAKING TO SAY OF THERE WAS MISCOMMUNICATION BECAUSE WE WOULD NEVER PAY FOR UPDATING THAT CAR SYSTEM I SAID HE PLAINLY STATED THAT AND THEN MANAGER, DOMINIC STATED LOOK YOU CAN GO TO CAR TOYS AND DO IT AT YOUR EXPENSE AND THAT WILL INCRESE THE VALUE OF THE CAR AND BRING IT BACK IN A COUPLE MONTHS LIKE SAY 6 MONTHS TRADE IT BACK INTO US TOWARDS THE CAR YOU WANT BUT THATS IT. I HAVE TAKE CAR OF THIS CUSTOMER SO THANKS FOR CALLING AND HUNG UP. I WAS LIED TO, SCAMMED, THE VEHICLE WAS MISREPRESENTED PURPOSLY AND IN THE END IM LOCKED INTO THIS CONTRACT AND HAD I BEEN TOLD HONESTLY THAT I WOULD NOT BE FINANCED FOR THE TYPE OF CAR WITH THE FEATURES I WAS PROMISED I WOULD HAVE SAID THANK YOU AND DEPARTED THE DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE PRACTICES AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF DISABILITIES AND EXPLOITATION OF MY FIRST TIME FINANCING AND IGNORANCE OF THE PROCESS. SINCE THAN NOW INTO MY 8TH DAY WITH THIS VEHICLE ALL MY SAVINGS DRAINED NO ATTEMPT AT RESOLUTIONS EITHER BY MANAGER OR SALES STAFF. I NOW KNOW THAT THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO SCAM, FLAT LIE, MISREPRESENT, SELL ROAD DANGEROUS VEHICLES ETC. FOR YEARS WITH COMPLAINTS STEMMING AS FAR BACK AS 2012 IM SURE LONGER UNDETECTED. SAM AND HIS BROTHER JAMES ARE MENTIONED PERSONALLY IN AT LEAST 4 BETTER BBB REPORTS AS WELL AS SEVERAL RIPOFF WEBSITES AMONG OTHER MEDIA. PLEASE HELP ME THE STRESS FROM THIS IS CAUSING ME FURTHER MEDICAL ISSUES AND LENGTHENED MY ABILITY TO HEAL FROM MY CAR ACCIDENT.
Purchased a 2015 Sierra with electrical problems and a piece of WOOD in my tire. They called me names, that were innaprporiate. Your welcome for that $50,000.00. And I am sure there are more problems to come.
Bought a 09 ram from these guys had to resign the loan paperwork 3 times then about a 6 weeks later they text my wife we still owe them money. We gave a clean title trade, cash down, not trust worthy people at all. I want to thump jay buhners melon over endorsimg losers.
Purchased a 2014 vehicle from Alan only to get it home to a leaking rear main seal that was dripping off the drain plug. There was an oil change sticker in the window from NW Motorsports stating it was changing very recent. I believe they knew this truck had this issue and sold it anyway. Joe and Marcus who are both managers were no help at all. I finally talked to Don Flemming who is rude and turned everything I said back on me. In the end NW Motorsports did nothing for me the truck was fixed under warranty by Harnish Chevrolet. Customer service is not available at NW Motorsports. They want your money, they will sell you a broken vehicle, and then not even help you with it or try to make it right. I documented all calls I had with this place and it is incredible what went down. BUYER BEWARE and do not buy from NW Motorsports.
No way Jose…
This Don Flemming GM is a joke and too big a liar to even recognize he is doing so. I would trust this guy with my worst enemy. Almost signed when i decided to do a double take and everything he promised was omitted, and while that was the first sign, he even tried to schmooze into a bigger lie on paper. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS
Went down to NW motorsports to look at a pickup I saw on craigslist. Found out it was sold, but the salesman wanted to walk me around the lot to see their inventory. As was expected, everything was overpriced. There was an f150 in the back that had just came in on trade. It wasnt really what I was looking for, and the price was on the higher end of my range, but I decided to take it for a spin anyway. Long story short, the truck was garbage. Odometer read 65k ish miles. Transmission felt like a bomb going off when downshifting under acceleration. I knew better than to step foot on that lot, and I’m glad the pickup I wanted to see had sold. I ended up buying a truck down the street for a much better price and much better experience. Bottom line, there are much better dealerships out their that actually have some level of care/respect for their customers. Read the reviews some folks have posted. Read this article: http://www.businessexaminer.com/blog/August-2012/Puyallup-truck-dealership-sued-by-EEOC/ Northwest Motorsports is not a company to support.
So lets talk Northwest Motor Sports out of Puyalup.
I realize I may not be the first to mentioned them and if not, please add this to the list of complaints and maybe, just maybe this will be the one to put them in the top running for scrutiny and embarrassment.
Good ole boys. When everything works out, the vehicle is a good one (no thanks to them mind you), customer gets a little break, financing terms are favorable, there seems to be a great sales staff with a lot of talent (considering they know what is going on behind the scenes), the favorable reviews come pouring out. It is said many times to watch out for “Planted” good reviews.
But when things go wrong………………………………………….
I’ll spare you the full text for now. Recent reviews mirrors exactly the “Tone” they took with my Daughter when the vehicle is not a good one. This was her first car she bought “On her own”. She was so proud of herself. She doesn’t make a lot of money but works pretty close to full time. Typical I suppose. Let’s say……. that if she has to pay out to fix a mistake (not letting her dad help her in choosing a vehicle) she is ok with that. Lesson learned. Know that if she does put up the money to make the repairs, all she wants is to have them done and done correctly so she can have the vehicle she expected. Not So at Northwest Motorsports. She paid the money and is still left with a vehicle that does not run (or shouldn’t be – Coolant in the Oil) after supposedly a short block replacement to the tune of $2500 and 3 months! This is a lot of money to a 25 year old. Coolant in the oil means two things, either the short block they replaced it with was “Cracked” or the work swapping out the Heads was done incorrectly, like maybe the head gaskets were installed incorrectly or the heads themselves were not properly inspected. At any rate, her follow-up phone call to the service Dept. was met with the same “attitude” as what recent reviews stated and is now left with the response “we have too many hours into this vehicle and we are washing our hands of it”. Really?
I could go on here but I think you get the picture. This a dealership that is sponsered by Jay Bruhner, our beloved ex-Mariner. Wonder what he would say about these experiences. You can go onto NW Motorsports website and read the negative reviews there to see the whole picture. Take a shower after reading though!
The point is they need to be humbled, take a look at their business practices, follow through with their promises no matter what it costs or simply do not make them, and maybe replace a few “attitudes too higher to fire!”
Meanwhile, my Daughter is sitting on a purchase and a repair to that purchase she cannot afford to have done again (obviously somewhere else!) So all told she has an $11,000 investment sitting in her driveway she cannot use. Ah Northwest Motorsports needs a spanking!
Do not get Countless hours and Dollars sucked from your life trying to make an honest purchase of the second most important purchase you will ever make.
Not when there are reputable Dealers out there trying to make an HONEST living.
The truck we purchased had a few small issues that they stated they would fix, but they allowed us to drive it home late in the evening Sunday 4/22/12 without receiving our trade or cash down. That night we came home parked it, my husband drove it the next morning and it threw 2 codes. He called the dealership, they said bring it in a they would take care of it. We dropped it off Monday afternoon 4/23/12, they said they would call us in the morning and let us know the exact status. No call, so my husband called Kevin to ask what was going on, he stated that he would check on the staus and contact us with an update. Never heard from Kevin, called back and spoke with Bryce. He checked the status and said we could pick it up Wednesday 4/24/12. Called them in the morning to check status again, Kevin stated it would be ready in 2hrs and he would call us to come pick it up, never heard from Kevin or Bryce. After we got off work and could find a babysitter we drove out to the lot as we were on our way we seen the truck going from the smaller lot back to the bigger lot. We went into the shop and asked to speak with a manager. Bryce was there, I watched the salesman looking for the manager talk to Bryce and he looked at us and then quickly looked the other way, after about 5 minutes he came over and acted like he just regonized us. Said "oh I was just about to call you" Stated something else was a matter with the truck and they were putting it back into the shop. He sat down and talked with us, when we explained how we were feeling about the deal and how we were worried about he truck and it’s condition, he asked what we wanted to do. I told him I would like to reverse the deal, which Bryce and Kevin stated they would do before we signed paperwork if we were unhappy with the truck. His attitude then changed and he stated that we signed the contract and that we had to deal with it, he also stated that the paperwork had already been pushed through and that they had already found me a loan even though they still don’t have my trade or cash down. He also stated that he would not fix anything else on the truck besides what they wrote on the contract, if that’s how we felt. I could tell he was upset so I asked to speak with another manager. He went and looked for another manager and apparently there was nobody available. He told me to call in tomorrow to speak with the manager above him. We drove off and parked down the road and called the office, we asked to speak with the finance department. They put us through to Ben, we asked Ben if our paperwork was put through yet and if we could get the loan info to turn over to our insurance provider, he stated that the paperwork was NOT processed yet, which means Bryce lied to us face to face. I feel that they sold a truck with problems and are trying to cover it up. We have 2 children and are not willing to drive something unsafe. This is the worst experience I have ever had buying a used vehicle. When I told Bryce that we have never purchased a used vehicle with problems, he stated thats what happens when you buy used and that I must be very lucky to have never had problems with used vehicles! He even used an example of his first car he bought used and how he drove it for 10min and it blew up. I asked why they would even put this truck out on their lot for sale for $37,950 without fixing the problems, he stated that’s what they do. I said that’s kind of shady, he basically told me that it is what it is. To me that is probably the worst thing to say to a customer. I mean to stick something out on a lot knowing it has problems and to know a family is going to be driving it is very wrong. I will never recommend this company to anyone and they definately won’t be getting our business ever again. My husband called Bryce again 4/25/12 and he stated he would not deal with us any longer and he would have Kenny Rein the owner of NW Motorsports contact us in the morning. It is now 11:06am and I still haven’t heard from him. I am frustrated and not sure if I should now contact an attorney or if I should wait to hear from them. Again this is the worst experience I have ever had purchasing a used vehicle. I am very stressed out and unhappy. They say they strive to please the customer but yet I am not pleased in any way shape or form. They still have the truck, I still have my trade and cash down, the loan hasn’t been processed yet but Bryce states he will not reverse the deal, even though he stated he would before we signed if we were unhappy with the truck in ANY way. I was lied to and taken advantage of. When you sit at a lot for 7hrs with 2 kids things are stressful and they told us what we wanted to hear to get us to sign. I am a VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!! They even asked me to leave my monthly income off the paperwork so they could enter in whats needed for loan purposes, that is not only illegal but lying to the loan company, they never asked for paystubs, tax records, banking info, ect. Any other lot I have ever purchased from requires that info before processing a loan. Not sure how they get around it but I am sure it’s illegal in some way.
Falsely Described Vehicle.
I live in CA, so my transaction took place over the phone. One of my main concerns was a rust free vehicle. I asked if the truck had any rust and the salesman quickly replied that the truck has no rust and it is in “mint” cond. I trusted that answer, but I screwed myself by not getting that question and answer documented. I ended up buying the truck and having it shipped down to CA. When the truck arrived, it was elevated on the hauler, the first thing I saw was some serious rust underneath the passenger side! I got in touch with the manager who seemed willing to help. After getting some repair estimates, it was revealed to me that the truck had been in a significant accident involving the passenger bedside and the section beneath the rear door (this was not on the vehicle history report). The resulting damage was repaired improperly resulting in the development of the rusted areas. After I presented the repair estimate of nearly $2700 to the manager at NWMS, he offered only $1000 towards the bill. Given that they falsely described the vehicle to me, I was slightly insulted by the low offer. I requested the full amount in which he responded by retracting the $1000. In the end I only got $500. Chump change.
It also took them on month to send the paper work to the CA DMV, after numerous phone calls on my end. Two months of severe stress and hassle. I knew buying a used car can be a pain, but I was unprepared for an experience this bad.
not pushy, very friendly and enthusiastic. got what we wanted at a reasonable price. weary of buying so far from home, but when we had our mechanic check it out, we got the thumbs up. no problems here. (i believe the name of the gentleman who helped us was mark.)
Liar
Sold a car to me with a safety recall (could have been a cheap fix). Takes advantage of single mothers in need of reliable transportation
Northwest Motorsports was a total waste of our time. It’s ran by a manipulative jerk who sold us a STOLEN vehicle and then told us we could have whatever we wanted at or about the same price as the stolen vehicle and that he’d do whatever we wanted to make it right, install a lift or new exhaust, whatever.. He just left out the part that we had to pay for everything he promised to fix to make it right. Way to manipulate a spouse of a deployed soldier! They are overpriced as it is and you are much better off taking your money elsewhere and doing your own upgrades. I wouldn’t recommend them to even my worst enemy.
Its understandable when sales people are dishonest to get cars moving….FINE but to LIE to our face while its on paper in front of us, than to LIE to the bank so they can make more money off of us,,,,,charge us for things we didnt even HAVE in the TRUCK!!!! Horrible! Also takes like 3 weeks to get paperwork done for NO ONE does it right! You think we had bad credit and were trying to STEAL from them!!!!!! CRAPPY CRAPPY all the way around!!!
I was referred to Northwest Motorsport by a friend. They had a good selection and gave me a great price. They gave me a canopy free and would recommend this place to friends. Thanks for a good experience.
