This was the worst car buying experience I ever had. When I finalized a price with my salesperson we sat down to fill out the sales contract. On the sales contract BEFORE he even started to write up the deal were charges $1,995.00 for UCMR whatever that is and $349.00 adminitstrative fee. I said to the salesperson “we already made a deal I am not going to let you add $1,400.00 to the price!”. I got up to leave and he asked me to wait to see “what he could do”. The sales manager came over and said he would take off the UCMR fee. I decided to go ahead with the purchase as this was a hard to find vehicle and I needed it for work. Fast forward to the day we sit down to sign the loan paperwork and pick up the vehicle. The finance manager comes over and hands me the loan paperwork and just says “you sign here”. I of course glance over the finance rate, pricing etc….On the finance agreement is a $1,500.00 charge. Of course I ask “what is this?”. He says “Oh that is your extended warranty.”. I said I never asked for an extended warranty and do not want one. He does not apologize or offer any other explanation other then “thats how they structured the deal”. Well, to cut the story a bit they had to redo all of the paperwork and I was there for over 2 hours. NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS DEALER…EVER…Snakes!
I was very pleased with my experience. I was treated by a very professional staff. Vito was very patient with me, answered all my questions. Never pressured me. Sale was made and I am very please with my new car. Five stars to management and Paul for picking such a nice representative, Vito.
High pressure sales to purchase and get the advertised price if the car deal was closed within 3 days. The financing that I agreed to with the salesman was not what I received. Instead of 4% for 5 years, I got 6.89% for 7 years, so this was it came out to the monthly payment amount, so it looked right when I signed the contract, but it was never brought to my attention by Christine in Finance or Francois the Salesman.
So ultimately I’m paying much more for this car by financing through their lender. Also, I pride myself on having excellent credit and should have scored high enough to get the lowest rate. Apparently the credit reporting agency they used failed to provide the lender with my collateral and showed a incomplete report. I should have been notified of this but I wasn’t.
Another problem was the taxes I was charged was quite different than what the dealership claimed on the sales certificate filed with the DMV.
I tried to get cooperation from the manager Frank (no last name) and he was so rude and obnoxious, he kicked me out of the store rather than try to go over the errors that I tried to explain to him.
:mad::mad: Unless the dealership tries to straighten this out, I would suggest that you never shop there. Beware!!! PS, I bought two new cars that day and got no respect from this dealership or customer service when I returned with my questions.
sales person was unable to ansrew any questions honestly or accurately. recieved a $3000 voucher in the mail that was good for a month. went to dealership in the process of making a deal. I attempted to leave to think it over as i should considering buying a car is a large investment not something to do on implusle. then salesmen said this deal is only for today if you leave your losing the voucher (even though it said on the voucher clear as day that it was good for another month). They put immense pressure on me to sigh now. I would drive 100 miles away to purchase a car rather than go back to this dealership ever. this place is completely dishonest and they are all crooks. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF ANY WAY THEY CAN!!!
I have been a satisfied customer of Nissan for thirteen years until this recent, unfortunate experience with Riverhead Auto Mall Ltd.
Purchased a pre-owned Nissan Altima at price $22,930.62, contrary to the ad price of $17,795 and manipulated into financinga contract without my authorization.
It was my intention to finance the purchase through my credit union and Mr. Josh Banks was made aware I had already been approved by my union. However Mr. Banks fraudulently chose to fill credit applications to financial institutions to finance the purchase at $30,142.00.
This experience is been a nightmare. I feel Mr. Banks took advantage of my confidential information and ripped me off into a finance contract without a prior knowledge or my authorization.
Meanwhile the just sold vehicle at $22,930.62 I found two (2)days later, an ad on the company website from same dealer and for the same 2009 Nissan Altima with same VIN advertised, but with change in price at $17,295. This is a scam by Riverhead Auto Mall Ltd.
I must emphasisthe fact that, the vehicle was sold without a vehicle manual and when I requested for one, Mr. Banks wrote back I contact the manufacturer for the owner’s manual. Very unprofessional practice as a sales person.
Odometer reading on vehicle was 6,699 mileage which still qualified vehicle under the original factory extended warranty on vehicle, despite charging an extra $2,000 warrenty fee. I was issued a limilted liabilty service contract to only service vehicle with Riverhead Auto Mall.
I just want to say that I totally sympathize with your situation in purchasing a vehicle at the Riverhead Auto Mall.
I just purchased 2 new vehicles. One of which was a 2010 Altima Hybrid. It was high pressure sales to get the vehicles sold within a few days of visiting the dealership. It was advertised at $19,999 and I was offered a rate with their finance company for 4% interest for 5 years. The monthly amount was all I kept being told.
I was in for a shock when I reviewed the paperwork that I was so rushed to sign because the financial person was trying to close out 25 other deals that night, she just told me this is what you agreed to, sign here, folded the contract and put in the envelope for me to review later.
I did get a $295/month loan, but there was a slight problem, first of all it was calculated on an incorrect amount of principal, it was for a 7 year term instead of a 5 year term and hold on, the interest rate was 6.89%!!!
I tried to discuss this with the salesman whom I was told I need to speak to, and he couldn’t take my call because he was on vacation. The manager was so rude he kicked me out of the dealership.
When the salesman returned from vacation, he called me upset that I gave him a negative review. I explained my frustration and he said that he would need to speak to Christine in Finance and will call me back.
The next day he called me back and said I would need to discuss the issue with Christine and that he would set up an appointment for me to meet with her and call me back. It’s been 2 weeks and no call back.
Also, the other problem I noticed was the amount of tax I was charged and the amount of sales tax that was reported by the dealership to the DMV in NY. There must be a law against this???
I was also wondering if you ever got your issues resolved and if so, could you give me some information.
Thank you. BTW the salesman I dealt with was Francois Wall.
