Overall good outcome.
It was an overall great experience. I would recommend them to anyone!
I was 100 percent satisfied with carl gregory. Andy McMullen was awesome. I will always look to carl gregory for all my future purchases.
Rick was very professional and worked very hard to get the deal we wanted
Great Experience and best place to shop for new or used cars. Our Salesman Ed Jones Was the best he worked so hard to find us what we wanted he does it with smile on his face. Keep up the good work everyone. If you go there make sure u ask for Ed J.
We had a great experience with Carl Gregory! Our Salesman, Rick was very knowledgeable and the finance staff worked very hard to get us within our price-point. I will definitely buy from them in the future!
We highly recommend this dealership for your next new or used vehicle. We recently purchased a vehicle from them; a 2015 Jeep Patriot. We had an excellent, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable salesman named Shane. He was excellent with helping us to choose the right vehicle. We had shopped around a lot, and Carl Gregory had the best prices. Thanks for the help, and great experience.
I purchased my first vehicle from Carl Gregory. I love my new car. The salesman was very nice and knew all about the vehicles. He worked with the sales manager to get me the very best deal.. I will definitely purchase my next vehicle from Carl Gregory. I recommend them highly.

We have bought our last 4 vehicles from carl gregory! Great service – marshall hensley
great experience
I had a good experience at Carl Gregory with salesman bobby Clark. We didn’t like the first 3 cars we test drove but he made sure we tried another that we ended up buying! Fair price also.
Great experience and a great Jeep Wrangler! Wonderful people to deal with…I would highly recommend Carl Gregory to anyone looking for a good vehicle at a good price. Thanks so much!
I went to Carl Gregory in October 2011 at about 6 that evening. I looked at car and went in to fill out paperwork. After waiting for about an hour, the salesman came back and told me that I couldn’t get the car I wanted so he showed me another. After looking at the car, I test drove it while they “valued” my trade. Came back to complete the paperwork and asked about my trade because the payments seemed to jump about $75 from what I was originally told. I was told the car was a wash but wasn’t told they actually valued my trade at $1000 below what they quoted me. So now its about 8 pm that same day, I was the only customer left but it took them an hour to “read” over my paperwork. Once in the financial office, I was ready to go. Left there at 9:30 and was told it was good. I had an uneasy feeling about it because no bank was open when I left. The next day I found a different car online at another dealership and decided to review my paperwork from CG. Sure enough, no bank was listed on the sale, none. The sale wasn’t final bc there was no financing. Tried calling the salesman but he was off that day. Called the other dealer instead and set up a deal. That Thursday, two days later, CG salesman called at 5:30pm to tell me the bank came back with a higher payment and needed some paperwork from me and to come back in. Told him I would think about it. Friday now… Salesman called, told him I wasn’t okay with giving them some of the information they request and was returning the car. He then yelled at me, threatened me with repossesing the car (which I didn’t own) and told me the sale was final (which it wasn’t). I went to the other dealership who followed me to CG because they read over the paperwork and saw, too, that the sale wasn’t final. When I got to CG I was yelled at by the salesman, Bobby, and sales manager, Hunter, in front of other customers. They argued with me because I demanded the name of the bank that supposedly financed the deal but they refused to give it to me. Their reason was that the bank doesn’t give out their phone number (seriously) and that I would receive it in the mail with my payment booklet (surprise). The real reason was because there wasn’t financing. After arguing with them for about 20 minutes of being yelled at, in front of other customers, and laughed at, I was told that if I didn’t leave the dealership (without my original car) that the police would be called. I should have let them do it. I left there without my original car (which the refused to give back to me). The next day, Saturday, I ended up having to have police escort me up to CG to return the car they tried to sell me and for proof of why I was leaving it there. I left the car there and left without my confiscated trade. There was still no financing on the car they tried to sell me and I was successfully financed at the other dealership. I ended up having to get my attorney involved to get my trade back that Tuesday. Moral is: read all the paper work because these guys are Yo-Yo Scamming experts. I won my battle with them but it never should have gotten that far.
wonderful sales and financing. love my 300. would recommand to anyone
We bought a 2012 Jeep Patriot on July 6th from Carl Gregory and I have to say it was the best and easiest time we have ever had looking for a vehicle. We started in the new cars and worked our way over to the used lot, while walking around we were asked if we needed anything, when we replied with “No thanks, just looking” the staff respected us enough and let us be to look at our own pace without hovering near by or right on top of us. When it came time to find some more information and test drive (the Jeep we bought), they were easy to find, knew their stuff, and very very friendly! When it came down to the business side of buying a car, we were given a great deal, so good we could not walk away. I would recommend anyone looking for a vehicle to go check out Carl Gregory Chrysler Jeep!
Overall was a great experience. The sales assoiciates we dealt with, Sean and Patrick were great. I enjoyed working with them, however didn’t enjoy the finance office guy Dewayne. He just wanted the money and you out of his office as quick as possible iot seemed, but everyone else was great to deal with. We bought a used Dodge Magnum over 3 months ago and has been a great car so far. Thanks Carl Gregory associates!
Thank you Carl Gregory for our new Fiat. The sales staff, especially Christa and John were very helpful and answered all of our questions. Mark, the sales manager made sure we got the price we wanted and addressed a concern we had with the service department. Highly recommend! Thank you, David and Shelly Bulla
I was very pleased with this dealership! My salesman was not too pushy and was very knowledgable! This was my first new vehicle purchase and I love it!!! I will definitley go back.
Bought a 2013 Ram 1500. Salesman was Andy McMullen who was very straight forward and easy to deal with. Everything was quick and easy. Will buy from again.
I have bought a couple of vehicles from salesman Patrick Lewis, and every time I come back in and see, I get treated with the utmost respect and honesty. He really treated me and my wife like we were family, and I had a very comfortable experience. Even though I ended up paying more than I wanted to, I don’t mind to give Patrick a little bit of extra money in his pocket besides a majority of the “mini” deals most salesman get. He is extremely knowledgable of just about every product on the lot, and if he doesn’t know the answer, he is honest but always finds out very quickly. I was utterly shocked when I found out he had only been selling cars for about a year, and was a construction worker before coming to Tennessee. He handles himself and carries himself like a seasoned salesman, but without the sketchy shadiness that most salesman are like. We will definitely be spreading the word about Patrick, and this dealership!
I just bought a Fiat Abarth here and was happy with my experience – I would highly recommend!
We bought a 2013 Chrysler 200 and they made sure we were taken of. Would recommend to others.
We bought a 2013 Jeep Wragler Sahara from here and had a wonderful experience. We love our Jeep and would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a great vehicle and deal.
Great experience bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 and got the deal i was looking for and they can do the same for you. Thanks again Garry Sherman.
Wonderful experience. They were able to work with me to get my payments to a managable level and gave me good value on my trade in. Very personable and helpful.
We purchased a used 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible from Carl Gregory on March 8th 2013. The sales and financing teams worked hard to fit the car in the price and payments we needed. They were also friendly and knowledgeable on what it took to get the job done. They also have a large selection of vehicles to choose from. I would recommend any one to visit Carl Gregory to find a new or used vehicle before they look at any other dealers.
They are a great Dealership. The Sales personnel are fun to work with and they givei it their best to put you in the vehicle that YOU want.
I just loved dealing with paul,he helped me alot, put me in a
vehicle that i could afford and was not pushy, and was very patient,i highly recommend them!
Purchased our First Jeep Patriot from Carl Gregory our saleman was Garry Sherman. We had a great experience. Everyone at the dealership was wonderful and very professional. Our salesman worked very hard to get us the deal we needed. We actually received a very fair value for our trade-in and everyone worked very hard to help us. They even stayed an hour after closing on a Saturday night to help us.
Carl Gregory is a wonderful dealership to work with. I felt comfortable with my sales person Garry Sherman. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for in a vehicle. I purchased three vehicles within a month of each other.
I have and will continue to recommend Carl Gregory and Garry Sherman as a great sales person to work with.
Bought my 2012 dodge Durango Last week, I had a great time buying a car! They easy to deal with and the only place that didn’t get mad when I told them I was financing with Johnson city federal credit union. The other 2 places I went to all they wanted was me to finance in their places! Best Internet price around. And no disappearing rebates! They do have a document fee. But they all do these days and the ones that don’t try to trick you into their financing so they make money that way. Thanks Carl Gregory. Phil Miner, Gary Hudgens, Vince Fishner. Great transaction
Tom B.
I don’t like spending money on a new car but needed one. I recently bought a Jeep at Carl Gregory. Our salesman, Mike Thompson, actually made it a great experience. He is very helpful, knowledgable, and took the time to answer all of our questions.
Mike Thompson was very helpful when my husband and I came to look for a car–definately go see him.
I have had great experiences with carl gregory. Andy McMullen was able to get me a car even when I was already upside down in the one I had from another dealership. He was very nice and great to work with.
I had the best experience at Carl Gregory than anywhere else!!! I have shopped at many car places and by far this is the best customer service I have ever been to before!! I came in looking for a car and Salesman Tony and his Sales Manager Will were extremely nice and helpful!! I couldn’t ask for a better car deal!! Thank you Tony & Will…you made my life much better!
poor trade in value for my car, high pressure, did not want to give my keys back when we could not come to a trade, tried to tell me how to drive a manual transmission Jeep when the salesman went on a test drive, sleezy dealership
They pulled the old trick where there is a ton of people ready to buy the pickup, i called the bluff and made an offer which was refused only to be called at 8:45 PM accepting my offer. After only having the vehicle only a day i take it to let them check the cruise control, after getting no recognition or calls back they finally inform me of the part being ordered. a couple days later they attempt to fix the vehicle, after a failed attempt i pick up the vehicle and head home. A very few miles later the check engine light comes on and i find a sheet of paper laying in the back of the vehicle with a code wrote on it. It turns out that the vehicle had issues that had been covered up and cleared off the computer to where i would not find them. After getting yet again no response to the problem, an older family member goes and tells them the problems that i have been experiencing and they set up an appointment for the original issue, Although now i have three engine codes coming from the truck.
Thanks for cheating a hard working and studying college student Carl Gregory Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Johnson City.
The salesman had contacted me several times from an online search I had filled out so I went in. He was from New York City is all I remember. Told him what type we were looking for, were in no hurry to buy but interested. He showed us the high mileage vehicles and told us monthly payment with 500 down and not the price or interest rate of the car, although asked. Extremely pressured tactics. I finally told him to let me know when they got in what I was looking for, that was 90 days ago and no word.
Took my son to the auction locally and if something was wrong with the vehicles they told you. On the car he bought, not a word, nada. First thing the electric window didn’t work, next day in the shop for a timing belt and water pump. Not good practice on the part of the dealer, there is no way they didn’t know because you couldn’t close the window and the temp shot up to HOT within 10 minutes of driving. Also didn’t mention the air doesn’t work.
Please contact me. As your review reads. It says you bought a car from a public auction. Im not sure how an auction car breaking down is a problem for us. But please feel free to email me so we can discuss. [email protected]
Went to CG about 4 years ago and my wife saw a cute little convertable that she liked. After test driving it we went in and talked about the deal. They did the old trick where another salesman came and said he had someone who was interested in the car. Our salesman then pressured us to make the choice as fast as we could. We bought the car for way too much and then had problem after problem with the car.
We went back a few months ago and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and trade again with them, but didn’t get anywhere with them. I will not go there again.
WE APPRICIATE THAT YOU GAVE US A SECOND OPPORTUNITY AND ARE VERY SORRY WE WERE UNABLE TO EARN YOUR BUSINESS WE STRIVE TO MAKE EVERY POSSIBLE DEAL THAT WE CAN AND THOUGH WE ARE THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY WE PREFER TO MAKE THE DEAL WHEN AND IF POSSIBLE
My daughter went to Carl Gregory yesterday and was shown a van that she really liked (used), she put in for the financing and said she could put 1500.00 down and make payments on the rest, plus she had a van to use as a trade in…. because the banks were closing they said that in order for her to hold the van, she would have to put 500.00 down and if the financing was not approved she could get it back… well that is not what happened, the salesman (Steve) called her tonight and said the bank came back with another offer, 2400.00 down and payments of 350+ with the trade in….. and by the way if you don’t want this then the 500.00 you put down is non refundable… HELLO, the bank refused the first set of terms, not her… they are gonna take 500.00 from a single working mother of 4 kids???? Does not sound right to me!!! Sounds to me like they have a hell of a racket going on there!!! SHADY SHADY SHADY! They ought to be ashamed of themselves! (PS I bought and paid for 3 vehicles from Carl Gregory over the years and I will NEVER recommend them or buy from them again!
I AM PERSONALLY VERY SORRY FOR AND TO HEAR THIS IF YOU WILL CONTACT ME BY PHONE AT THE DEALERSHIP OR BY EMAIL I WILL GLADLY PULL THE RECORDS AND SOLVE THIS PROBLEM THIS IS NOT THE WAY WE DO BUSINESS AND I DO INTEND ON FIXING THE PROBLEM FOR YOU EMAIL [email protected] AGAIN WE AT CARL GREGORY ARE SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE AND I WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIX THIS
EVERYONE WAS ABSOLUTLY GREAT….I WENT TO SEVERAL OTHER DEALERSHIPS AND NONE OF THEM TREATED ME WITH RESPECT, I THINK BECAUSE I WAS A LADY. ALSO, CARL GREGORY GAVE ME THE MOST FOR MY TRADE IN AND THAT WAS THE KEY TO ME. I HAVE READ ON HERE THAT OTHER PEOPLE DIDNT HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE BUT I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
THANKS WE AVERAGE APPROXIMATELY 450 HAPPY CUSTOMERS PER MONTH IN SERVICE PARTS AND SALES AND THAT IS OUR INTENTIONS !!!!
The carl gregory of johnson city, tn. internet price on a 2007 mazda CX7 was $19,752.00. We drove the vehicle and went inside to talk the salesman Micheal, and he asked us how much the internet price was on the vehicle and I told him I wasn’t sure it could’ve said call for price. Micheal went to the self pro-claiming manager, Hunter Johnson, and came back with a list price of $25,999.00 and said he could sell it to us for $21,325.00. I asked him if that was the price on the internet he wouldn’t answer so I looked the price up on my cellular phone and it was $19,752.00. Of course we wanted to speak to the manager, Hunter Johnson, after our salesman Michael stated that they needed to make all the money they could off their vehicles. Hunter Johnson came over for moral support to continue the dishonesty and both Michael and Hunter Johnson swore they had no idea what any of the internet prices were on any of their vehicles. Dishonest and defensive and continuing to lie to our faces, we walked. Avoid this dealership at all costs. I have purchased many vehicles in the tri cities area and this experience with Michael, and the self pro-claiming manager without a identification badge, Hunter Johnson, is the bottom of the barrell.
you will be told to do what ever it takes to sell a customer and when you do sell them the finance manager and the sales manager will steal all your front end gross and put it in the back of the deal there for cutting the commission to a 100 bucks which they call a mini dealership should be called a mini mart.
They will steal ftom there own imagine what they will do to you
this company is the closest thing ive seen to terrorist the diffrence is they do it with a smile.I sold 12 cars in a month and was paid 700 bucks what a rip so chances of you getting a true proffessional sales associated without a criminal past is about as good as you winning the powerball. The mini mart of the auto industry 5 star is just a word here.Because I gaurantee you any dealerships these guys own are loosing stars like american idol.
UNFORTUNATELY THE SALES WORLD IS NOT FOR EVERYONE IT TAKES ALOT OF DRIVE AND MOTIVATION TO MAKE IT IN ANY SALES INDUSTRY NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE SELLING OR WHERE IT IS OR WHAT YOU ARE SELLING CARL GREGORY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
After finding an “internet” price on their website of 9,999.00 on a 09 caliber, I decided to go have a look. The sticker on the car was 19,000 and some change. The salesman told me that the internet pricing included the cash for clunkers, as well as many other promotions, that I mostly dont qualify for. (image that). I told him that since this was stated no where on their website or advertising, that this was fraudulent advertising and that I wanted the car for the advertised price, minus my C4C trade in, with no financing, cash up front, to no avail. Hope this helps some other people keep from being steered into the dealership due to “internet pricing”.
THIS WAS AT THE TIME OF CASH FOR CLUNKERS AND THE PRICE ADVERTISED WAS BASED OFF IF YOU TRADE IN A CLUNKER. THIS WAS A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM THAT MOST CUSTOMER EASILY UNDERSTOOD
I have had great experiences with carl gregory. Andy McMullen was able to get me a car even when I was already upside down in the one I had from another dealership. Anytime I have been back for oil changes they have always taken care of me.
Thanks Carl Gregory!
My wife and I bought our 2012 dodge journey up there last week. We have been looking for a while to get one with a 3rd row seat. No other dealership would help us get one that could meet our financial needs or wants. Until we went to carl gregory, and talk to Garry Sherman. He helped us find the perfect vehicle that was in our price range. If you need a vehicle call Garry he’ll help you like he did us.
I PURCHACED MY 2011 PATRIOT FROM CARL GREGORY ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. WE WERE PRESSURED INTO THE DEAL AND PAID ALMOST 24000 FOR THE VEHICLE WHICH WERE NEVER TOLD THE PRICE TILL AFTER THE PAPERS WERE DRAWN UP. TO FIND OUT THE TOP END FOR THIS JEEP WAS 17 TO 18 AT THE MOST. ALSO WAS CHARGED A LOT OF HIDDEN FEES WHICH DID NOT REALLY NOTICE TILL IT WAS TO LATE. NOW WE ARE SO UPSIDE DOWN IN THE DEAL THAT THERE IS NOWAY TO GET OUT OF IT. SO WE JUST LIVED WITH IT. THEN THIS WEEK I WAS CALLED BY A SELLS PERSON NAMED BEENIE HE SAID HE WANTED OUR CAR BACK BECAUSE HE HAD A BUYER LINED UP AND IN RETURN HE WOULD GET US INTO A BRAND NEW PATRIOT FOR THE SAME OR LOWER PAYMENT, OR IF WE DID NOT WANT SOMETHING NEW THEN HE COULD GET OUR PAYMENTS DOWN WITH A USED CAR. I WAS ALL FOR THIS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN LAID OFF FOR A WHILE DRAWING UNEMPLOYMENT SO THIS COULD REALLY HELP OUR FINACIAL SITUATION. WE WENT OVER THERE TONIGHT IT WAS A SCAM BEENIE IS NOT EVEN A SELLSPERSON AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WE WAS TALKING ABOUT BUT ASKED IF WE WAS THERE FOR THE ELEMENATOR SLE THE WHOLE THING WAS BS! THEY HAD NO BUYER LINED UP AND TRIED TO JUST OFFER US 10000 FOR OUR PATRIOT WHICH IS EVEN BELOW THE KBB THIS SO SAD THAT THEY WILL STOOP THIS LOW. I BOUGHT ONE VEHICLE THERE BUT WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OF RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEY ARE SUCH CROOKS AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE BBB AND ALSO I WILL WRITE A LETTER TO JEEP THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS!
I had bought my 2011 4runner from paul at carl gregory cause
he was very honest and was not pushy at all.I just love my new vehicle thanks to him!
great dealership best place in the tri cities to buy a car
We just purchased our third vehicle from this dealership and we love it. The service is always great.
In the last 5 years, I have bought 4 vehicles from Carl Gregory and have never had a bad experience. All of the vehicles were exactly what the salesman told me they were. I recently bought my third new Dodge Ram truck which I love. Thanks for a great experience, I will definitely return for my next vehicle purchase.
