We found a jeep wrangler on their website for $37,000. We called to see if it was still available since had to drive quite a distance to get there. When we got there, we met the salesman with whom we spoke, and he showed us that jeep. Guess how much? $41,000. When I asked about the price advertised on the internet, I was told that was a “cash price only”. This was the first thing that made me raise an eyebrow. We test drove it and went inside to look at “numbers”. When we laid it all out there, the guy showed us their numbers. We flat refused. This isn’t the bad part. Mind you, these were only supposed to be hypothetical, no applications, etc. He says, “Do you want to see what they are looking at to come to this conclusion?” Of course we would say yes. He comes back to the desk with our CREDIT REPORTS. Then he asks for our signatures giving them permission to check our credit… after it was done. Not only were we hassled while we were there, but after we left, we received call after call from this salesman. By that time, we had already bought a jeep wrangler unlimited from another dealership who didn’t give us b.s. Today, I received a letter in the mail dated 6/26. It said C.G. had DENIED us financing based on our credit reports. Really?? That was about a month ago that we stopped by to run “hypothetical” numbers! I called them and was told that they always did this. When I mentioned that I saw on my credit report that my information had been sent to a couple of banks, they tried to blame it off on another dealer. We were there in front of the financial manager when we bought the jeep wrangler. We know who he submitted us to… the same one we already had a loan with since we were trading in and we had a great experience with that bank. But, they supposedly went through a bunch of banks when we specifically requested and watched him do one? Really? I’d never had this experience with anyone else. It was almost as if they were trying to push it on through without us knowing. I’m very angry with them and am thinking highly about reporting them to BBB.
From the first time that I called the dealership I have been getting the run arround. When I first called on the truck I wanted the salesamn said that he would check on it and call me back in 30 minutes. He never called back at all. I called the next day and he said that he would call back in an hour- he never did. So, I called back and it was obvious that he had not checked to see if htey had the truck or not. So I decided to drive the 2 hour drive to meet with them in person, big mistake. I met with the salesman and told him what I wanted and he said that I shouldn’t be so picky and I just need to be concerned abobut getting a good deal. I told him no way. We argued back and forth for a while and he finally showed me in writing that my truck would have the options as requested. After calling several times and getting no response from the salesman about when my truck would be delivered I finally called the sales manager. He told me the date I would get my truck, which ended up being 2 days late. When they delivered my truck it didn’t have the options that I requested and was shown in writing. I called them and they said to go ahead and take the truck and they promised me that they would make it right by either giving me a different truck or installing the options that I wanted. They never did! I have bought a few new cars in my time and this is without a doubt the worst dealership that I have ever tried to work with. I have been lied to before, but never like this. They lied multiple times before, durring, and after the sale.
Pretty typical dealership experience. Wasn’t high pressure, they knew we were willing to leave with our trade in. We got a good deal on the Dodge Charger we ended up buying. We had done our homework and got all the rebates that we had coming, had to do some convincing though. As with any car lot go in well informed!!! Haven’t had the car long enough for service yet will come back and post that.
