Found a used Jetta SportWagen on this dealerships website. They confirmed that they had just finished the 80K check and it was in “great shape”.
I took the vehicle to a private VW certified mechanic who found a quarter size hole in the tire, orinigal bald tires with over 80K on them, near empty break fluid, unserviced transmission, broken intercooler tabs, dirty filters and many other problems.
I took it back to the dealership and it wasn’t until after I offered to show them all of the problems that they were willing to admit that it had not had the 80K check and it needed some repair. I did not buy the car.
I wrote a letter of complaint to VW headquarters who forwarded my complaint to West Houston Volkswagen. After a month of waiting I never received a response.
DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! I strongly recommend a pre-purchase inspection on any used vehicle, especially from this dealership. With the poor service and lack of customer care I would not buy a new car from them either.
Was in and out as promised and the price was exactly as quoted. They also have free wifi so I got a head start on my work day! Thanks West Houston VW
Best experience ever!
What began as a pleasant shopping experience turned into a nightmare! I purchased a used Mazda RX8 from West Houston VW. I was told that the car had been inspected by their mechanics and was in good working order. Less than 48 hours later the “check engine light” (CEL) turned on. I asked the used car salesman if I could bring the car in to have the engine code run to determine the reason for the CEL. I was told that it would be no problem, and that they would take care of it. When we arrived at the location we were told that the car was sold “as is” and that I would have to pay $80 to have the car diagnosed. I took the car to another auto mechanic who diagnosed and fixed the problem. The mechanic had to replace the leaking radiator hoses. Someone had wrapped the hoses with electrical tape to keep them from leaking (what kind of inspection did WHVW perform?). This is not the type of service I expect from any car dealer!
I took my TDI Jetta in for a lack of power and a bad shifting transmission. They tried to sell me a $6K transmission. They charged me $100 for looking at the car. I then took it to a different VW dealer Jersey Village Volkswagen and the replace my fuel filter and fixed my problem for $90. I caller the owner and general manager and they never responded to my calls.
My car went through a minor flood and the insurance adjuster took it over to this dealership, first the dealership racked up the price tag to about $7000 do dry out the car and replace some of the interior insulation and seat covers note the car was purchased brand new for $1600. I wish I could attach a copy of the BS statement of parts that they replaced. What really pissed me of is that they did not even use original carpet insulation for the repair so the bottom of the car is all fluffy and not tight. To finish up the story the service manager called me about one month later and stated that they made a mistake on the invoice and that they want 600 more dollars and if I don’t pay the amount they are going to take my car unbelievable I guess the sales are bad so they trying to make up.
