I purchased a used Ford F-150 from Champion late September. Received temporary tags and normal sales service. I was assured that I’d be called when the tags and title came into the dealership. I live more than 20 miles away from the dealership (F-150s go fast in Houston) and during the sale I was told by the salesman that Champion Ford would mail the tags to my house.
The temporary tags expired the end of November. My wife called Champion the day after the tags expired and was told the tags had been in the business office “for quite a while” (?!?). No explaination of why they hadn’t taken the initiative and sent the tags when they received the tags, or even call us to notify us the tags had been received. Promises were made that the tags would be in the morning mail.
My wife has called Champion’s business department after every weekend since then and received some variation on that story including “They must be lost in the holiday mail”.
The most recent promise is “We’ll overnight them to you… you’ll get them on Monday”… this promise was made on Wednesday.
Summary:
Cash purchase of vehicle
Recieved temporary tags and promise to mail permanent tags/title when received by business department
Temporary tags expired
Haven’t been able to drive my wholely-owned, fully insured vehicle for three weeks
Continual promises of “The tags are in the mail”… too close to “The checks in the mail” for my taste.
Would I recommend Champion Ford? No No No.
I was greeted cordially by Mike and the car was ready when he promised. I was bringing the car in due to a recall on the computer for the transmission. I had to wait 30 minutes for the shuttle to pick me up. When I returned to the dealership the receptionist had me sign for the typical paperwork and handed me a survey to fill out on Mike before she asked me if I would like for him to go over the paperwork. Otherwise, I would’ve given him a much worse review on the survey. He comes out of his office with a toothpick in his mouth stating they was nothing to go over, it was a recall. He talked to me in the 3rd person the whole time. He kept saying this is a recall, she doesn’t need an explanation. ( I was standing right there by him.) He restated, ” she needs to make sure she gets the 30,000 mile service done. She doesn’t need to do it all in one chunk but it needs to be done.” I said, “I have to have it done to honor the warranty, right?” He said, “Yes.” I said, “Does Ford have to do it?” He said, ” Now, that’s not what I said is it? You can get anyone to do it just keep the reciepts.”
His tone was very condescending and he was very rude. I will never take the car back there unless there is another recall. I will never buy a car from them, either.
Service advisor never call to update me when they had my vehicle for over two weeks. Not one phone call, as promised to update me. She told me that I have a life time warranty on their service, but never call me back afterward when I discovered additional problem that they should have fixed. I called her everyday for a week. I even called Karla from their parking lot and they told me “she was with another customer right now” but she was outside smoking and never bother to call me back EITHER. Once they are done with you, they are done!!!
