The sales people are nice, but once you hand over your check, expect the customer service to dissapear.
Dealership employees stole belongings out of the trunk of my trade in car. The salesman, Luis, looked for them and found half the contents of my gym bag in the trunk. Unfortunately, the dealership lost those, too.
It took two months to get my license plates because of a typo the dealership had on my paperwork. I tried to work with Ryan in Finance to keep track of the status, but people hardly ever called me back.
It’s now three months since I bought my car and I’m still waiting for the second electronic key – because the salesman accidentally gave it to another customer. The sales manager, Nettra, promised to send someone out to make a new key three weeks ago. But, despite all the messages I’ve left for him, he hasn’t been calling me back.
Run away fast don’t look back
No way would I recommend this dealership. Only reason I brought my nissan there, because I got a notice in the mail for recalls for the gas sensor and lower control links. At first the guy who helped us “Richard” was decent and they called us back saying they replaced the sensor and only one lower control link and we’d have to come back to replace the other. No problem at all. Pick up the vehicle and while driving on Duke St, my car breaks down, no power at all. I was able to pull into a gas station to find out I had gas gushing out of my gas tank. Called them up to tell them what happened and they sent us a tow truck. A1 towing was the company who I will also never recommend, got my truck on his lift, never strapped down my vehicle, ran two red lights while I’m following them in my husband’s vehicle waiting for my vehicle to fall off and hurt someone. Luckily, myself, husband and vehicle made it back to the dealership. We were told many times they were sorry and because we messed up we’ll give you a rent a car no charge. Great, that will work out thank you so much. Monday came around and we were told it would be ready by 5pm. Never once that whole day did we receive a phone call from “Richard or a manager”, Called up to see what was going on and they said, vehicle has been taken apart and it won’t be ready till Tuesday. Richard who works in the customer service area, told us that the hose to the gas happens and it’s no big deal. To tell someome that it’s no big, then tell you that you’ll have to wait and deal with the fact that you’re isnt ready wasn’t what I wanted to hear. When I questioned that I need my car and would like to speak to his manager, Richard got very angry told me that I didn’t know who I was talking to, used some choice language. I decided not to even bother with someone who obviously has no customer service and brains at the same time. THIS IS THE REASON I HAVE ONLY BOUGHT MY VEHICLES AT CARMAX. This dealership is the worst i have ever dealt with. Anyone at this place will only lie, pretend they know what they are talking about and don’t know CRAP in how to fix vehicles.
Called Passport Nissan and inquired about a car that was for sale. It was a used toyota. The saleman told me come by and take it for a spin, always hesitate about going and try to upsale and add on. I drove over and had the saleman go and get the car to test drive, took it out for a quick ride and it was fine. Told him i would pay cash and to get the paperwork ready, then he ask me how much i was willing to pay, figuring he thought i was going to haggle. I stated to him the price was fair and get me the final cost for the car and taxes. He comes back using the 4 square box, i said him, that i will pay price no need to negotiate, then looking in the box, he put in 750 destination charge and 500 dollars processing and another box with more numbers. I said it’s not a new car, so why should i have to pay destination, and the 500 processing fee is for registering the car in my name. Then telling him im paying cash, just sign the slip and i will head to dmv and put in my name. He looked like I was stealing his child, he crumpled up the paperwork and told me to go. This type of business is the shadest that is out there. I would not recommend or use passport ever again, hoping this reaches people are looking for a used car and they will not waste their valuable time
I purchased a 2009 Nissan Altima yesterday. The purchase was a two day process which was how my wife and I wanted it.
Day One I came and explained my requirements. I had to have a car that would fit two car seats and a booster seat. I also told the saleman that I wanted the blonde interior and I needed need alot of options. After that my wife pulled up in our van with our three girls. They waited in the lounge while I installed the three car seats in an Altima that the salesman brought around.
The seats fit so we were on. The bad news is that they only had one Altima with the blonde interior. While I was installing the car seats the salesman took my trade in for an estimate.
Next came be price negotiation. We told them that what our budget was and of course they wanted more which is to be expected. We left planning to come the next day.
Yesterday we had an email exchange with Fred Shepard where we negotiated a price. He and my wife both seperately recommended against the “blonde” interior. I agreed to look at a red one with black interior.
After work I showed up and was taken to the two cars and I checked the both out. I decided on the white/blonde one and did a test drive where the sales man gave me a tour of the car.
When we returned we quickly did the paper work. Since we were not financing through the dealer and I had a check for the agreed price everything went very quick from there. There was a gentle push for an extended warranty. Which is to be expected.
The paper work went so fast that I had to wait a little for them to finish their delivery preparation checklist.
This is my third purchase from Passport Nissan of Alexandria and I would recommend them to anyone.
I haven’t purchased a new car for a number of years…my trade-in was 13 years old, but they gave me a larger-than-expected trade-in allowance. I knew what kind of car I wanted to look at (Altima Coupe) and what I felt I could afford. The salesman, Ray Webb, took me directly to the car I ended up getting. He was superb in his assistance and never pushy…very empathetic. I would say that he and their finance head did everything they could to inform me of all options and ended up giving me an excellent price for a great car. I recommend especially these two guys if you are looking for a great car buying experience!!
Sold car being told that tires had at least 50% life left. Tires wouldn’t even pass MD inspection and told by inspector that they were dangerous. Deealership refused to replace or make any concession at all. very poor.
My wife and I were looking for a new Nissan Altima. I walked in the dealer with a friend of mine one night and had a reasonable experience. I told the sales manager Fred that I would need to talk with my wife. He said to look around and he would beat any other price, but that he was willing to start negotiating at invoice price. I convinced my wife to take half a day off so we went back to buy the car at Passport. On the phone, I told Fred that we were both very busy people and what monthly price I wanted and he assured me we could work it out. When we got back to the dealer, they showed us the car, took us to meet the service dept…everything except finance. When we finally pushed to see finance, they asked us to sign a paper that agreed upon the price (which was $2000 more than I had been told would be the starting negotiation point). We refused and talked with finance. After two and a half hours of wasting our time, we walked out. The one thing that burns me up most is the lack of integrity. If you tell me something, don’t change it when I get to your dealership because you think you’ve got me trapped. Just so you know…they never called us, asked us if they could negotiate, or anything. In the end, we went to another Nissan dealer in Rockville, MD and got the car we wanted at a fair price with no hassle. My advice is not to do business with Passport Nissan until you want them to take your money and time.
