My salesman Mr. Q. Mohamed made my dream come true! Great dealership if you are looking to build your credit score. Happy! He knew exactly the car I wanted and provided excellent customer salesman service.
Buyer Beware!!! Bait and Switch!!! I made an appointment with internet manager Monica Curbelo at 1 Pm on 2/12/13 When I arrived I asked for her at the front desk. She was paged and a moment later a salesmen Freddy Roman greeted me. I told him I was waiting for Monica. He stated that she gets Nissan internet leads and he was the salesmen assigned to me. I know that salespersons often try to steal one anothers customers, but I agreed to have him help me.
I knew something wasn’t right when he had no idea what vehicle I came in for. I told him a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder LE in dark grey. He came back about 10 minutes later saying he couldn’t find it. It could have sold already. In front of Freddy I found the vehicle on my smartphone with the Stock #: UN22939. He said he would get the key and meet me outside. After 10 minutes I walked back in the dealership to find Freddy joking with two other sales guys. I said what happened? With key in hand he went outside and brought me the Pathfinder. Folks, what happened next made my blood boil. The Pathfinder he brought not even close to what was shown online. Freddy argued with me that was it. I said look at the list of features online and the ones on the window of the vehicle. No leather, no navigation, no moon roof, no nothing. He said I guess they made a mistake but I do have a white one with what your looking for, for only $29,000
I lost it. I demanded to talk to Monica. He repeated several times that she does not even work in the building. Monica confirmed the appointment the night before and told me she personally saw the vehicle and it was beautiful. All lies! The vehicle Freddy brought out was a mess. Damage on the driver side door. The seats were all stained, the interior was disgusting. Scratches everywhere. It looked like a family with kids drove cross country and returned it dirty.
I left furious and in the parking lot I call Monica at the phone she called me on. She answered, I told her what happened and asked where she was? Monica was in the dealership the whole time. I asked repeatedly why she lied to me about the Pathfinder and its condition and why Freddy to my face told me she didn’t work in the building. All she said was Freddy would never say that.
Please do not waste your time with these clowns. The salespeople are all standing around like its a place to hangout. The worst experience I have had with a dealership. FYI the vehicle is still listed on there website. I guess to bait and switch another customer. Truly Unprofessional!!!
I went to Nissan of Garden City and drove out in my brand New Maxima. Tony B knew everything about the vehicle and took his time to explain all the features to me. I had a great experience and will recommend Nissan of Garden City.
Derwin was very pleasant to work with he was able to get me approved for a 2012 Versa when no one would. I would recommend Nissan of Garden City to all family and friends.
I actually did purchase from the dealership
I love love love my Nissan Maxima.. Tony B was very good at showing me all the features he was very patient with me and wasnt too pushy which I liked. I would be happy to recommend this dealership to anyone =)
I just purchased a 2012 NIssan Rogue from Roman at Nissan of Garden City. All went fine. My friend recommended him to me and I am Completely Satisfied. If you need a new vehicle then go see Roman at Nissan of Garden City.
It was a pleasure to purchase a New car from Chris J. He absolutely took care of my needs and listened to my requests on what I was looking for. It all worked out Completely Satisfied. My Finance Manager Dumitru did a clean job of explaining what I was signing for.
I recently visited nissan of garden city to lease a 2012 Altima. The salesperson I worked with was Derwin. From when I 1st walked into the dealership I was welcomed by a wonderful young lady named Belma. She is so full of life and made me feel as though I was at home. Derwin made the process quick and easy all while explaining everything in detail. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and be in store to have a good time while you r there.
FREDDY ROMAN WAS TRULY EXCEPTIONAL. WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO SATISFY ME.
Not only did they take care of me right away but they just informed me that i will get free oil changes for life.
I have had a great experience at nissan of garden city and would recommend this dealership to others. I purchased a 2011 Nissan Altima and am more than satisfied with my purchase.
I would not recommend this dealership! They are a bunch of crooks. I went in with my son to purchase a car to keep and own! I spoke to Leo v who told me he would put the car down as a lease so I would pay lower monthly payments but that my car would still be mind once I was done with my payment. I went back various times to make sure this was true. He would “call” the bank and tell them yeah the car is hers at te end of the payments. I believed him. Few months in I received a phone call from the bank and was told that the car was not going to be mine at the end of my payments… I went to Nissan to find out that Leo was not longer working there… What I find weird is that I’m making 782 monthly payments for a lease that seems a bit high to me.. I tried contacting cooperate and nothing I lost the car and I am due to return it in September! Bunch of scammers here!! Make sure if going to this dealer you get documents of everything that is promised to you because they will f** yu over
Called in to ask about a vehichle in stock from the internet that I later found out hadn’t been in the inventory in months but was used as a teaser ad to bring people in and I was told twice that it was there on the lot and I should come down. I said I was traveling from an hour away with 3 small kids and wanted to make sure it was there (called back 2x to confirm). Sure enough, monkey business from the second I walked in. Car was not there, person i spoke with wouldn’t come out of his office to speak and the manager seemed to use it as a sales tool to say we’ll let me work a deal on another car. Horrible, fraudulent and unethical way of doing business. Stay away.
I walked in and looked at Maxima’s. Next thing I knew I was driving home my beautiful new Maxima. This dealership is the best I have ever purchased from. Devon and his Sales Mgr, John La were GREAT. I even sent my cousin in to get a car and they paid me $250 for the referral. Now isn’t that Unbelievable. These gentlemen are true professionals !! I will be sending all my friends and family to them. P.S. My Maxima is terriffic !!!!
Service department is filled with rude jerk-offs — They suck arse
My Wife and I with our two kids went to lease another car. One that would be cheaper to lease. as we went to the office of John. he screwed us in buy a Altma for 600.00 a month. well he ended up calling my wife and started to flirt with her on the phone. Now he has ruined my family and destroyed my relationship with my wife. This man is nothing but a destroyer of peoples lives. He is Evil and has no morals. If this is a way Nissan of Garden city conducts business i would suggest to go else where. Please keep your wives away from John. he is a predator and is very convincing to women. This man will be going to HELL.
bait and switch. Promised one price by salesman and manager then went into finance manager and was quoted a higher price. He said the salesman must have been mistaken when he wrote the quote. “We” can meet that price if you extend the length of your loan.
Very sleazy. What most people think of a car salesman is what you get here.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP – THEY ARE ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS – I NEGOTIATED A DEAL WITH THEM AND GAVE THEM A SIGNIFICANT DEPOSIT, WHEN IT CAME TO PICK UP THE CAR IT WAS ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER UNTIL THE DID NOT RETURN MY CALLS – GETTING MY DEPOSIT BACK WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT – THEY TOLD ME THE PAPERWORK WAS LOST AND MADE ME WAIT
my girl friend and i walked in and settle the price on a nissan versa. sighn a contract with the sell. because we were new at these. they did not sign their name. they told us they would call us every other day. but they did not. so i have to call them and ask if my car is there. then they finally said my car is there. so i went there, the sales manager said is going to be 2000 dollars more. they would not honor their contract. i kown that i made a mistake by not spot the singature problem. but i think they did it on purpuse. and they could let me kown earlier. so i can try to find a new car. i can’t imagine anyone want to do business with them agian.
While answering an advertisement and coupon I received from the dealership, I went on line and reviewed vehicles in their stock. I found one for $18000.00. I made an appointment to see the vehicle. I was greeted by one of the most unprofessional front dest people by the name of Christine (Cat). Once I committed to the deal of a vehicle that was listed for $18,000 I was told my coupon would apply to the deal and that the finance company said they will not finance me without buying a service contract. I questioned this because I did not understand why a 2007 vehicle with only 12000 miles would need and extra warranty. But was told it was mandatory for the loan. Once I got all the paperwork to sign, I all of a sudden was paying over $24,000 for this car. I was told there was somethng called prepaid financing added in that I would see the difference in my payments. I was told that if my finance company calls me to tell them that my vehicle was top of the line. Which it wasn’t.
Long story short, after investigating this I found that it was not true and infact when I asked to speak to a manger, I was directed to Keith who then told me a different story. He was rude and a fast talker, but I taped the conversation for later proof of his inconsistancies. I advised him that my finance company called me to audit the loan and advised me that I should go back to the dealer for more clarification because I had been scammed on the price.
I still am trying to rectify this. I was forced into a warranty that I was told by the finance company that it is not true that I needed it to get financing.
I will never buy from this dealer again and I have since filed a formal complaint with DMV vehicle safety complaints, the attorney general office and opened a complaint of financing fraud with the finance company.
I called and spoke to Dinah. She was helpful but not pushy. She invited me into the dealership and I met with Shawn. Everywhere else I went the salesguy had been working there about 3 days, but Shawn had been there for years and was knowledgeable about the process and the vehicle. I purchased that day and I love my new Altima!:D:D
I purchased an altima and I could not have been happier. Nissan really puts their customers first and makes sure they fulfill your expectations. I would HIGHLY recommend someone who is looking for a car to go to Nissan because they will not steer you wrong!!
Had huge problems with this vehicle, but Mike Keenan and his entire stafff at Nissan of Garden city were able to repair the issues.
These guys are the greatest! Mike is terriffic and the absolute best to deal with!
I had this vehicle to three other local dealers who did not and could not repair mycar.
Thanks again to Mike Keenan and Nissan of garden city!:):):):):)
:):o
Negotiated a price with the dealer – not one cent under their internet asking price of $14,995! Matter of fact, they RAISED the actual selling price, telling me there was $500 prep fee and some kind of $600 additional fee, which they said they would waive. Soooo…the NEW price was $15,495 plus title and registration. I then printed-out their $250 internet discount coupon which plainly states: “Must be presented before signing.” The SALES MANAGER refused to accept, stating that I should have presented it before negotiations. I read the text to him, and STILL he refused to honor the coupon.
Where I come from, this is called FRAUD. These people are bums. Buy your car from a REPUTABLE dealer – not these sleazebags.
I saw the AD for stock # UN 15357 COST $12,800.00.My down payment was $3450.00 net cost should be $9350.00 .T took the extended warranty for $2600.00.Total cost $11950.00.After all the talk and the contract was written my new cost turn out to be $19985.00.As of date I am trying to get Garden city nissan to correct this issue which took place 8-9-2010.Today is 10-27-2010.Verfy the contract before signing.Apparently they have done this to other people.Shame on you Nissan Motor Corporation REFUSED TO HELP.
hello…my name is steven sarns…and i recently purchased a new nissan sentra from nissan of garden city…as i pulled into the parking lot i was addressed as i stepped out of my car buy a salesman named roosevelt…i instantly said to myself this is going to be a bad experince..but roosevelt…helped me figure out what i needed..help me decide whether to lease, finance, or pay cash..and got me out of the dealership in my new car..at the price i wanted..and the most important thing i was out of the dealership in an hour..it was the best car buying experince i have ever had…i would def recommend dealing with roosevelt willams..at nissan of garden city..the only thing i didn’t like was the fact he kept smiling at my wife when i wasn’t looking..and of course she thinks he is a lovely gentlemen..i guess it’s about getting the right saleman..and the showroom was very cheap looking..roosevelt explained it added to the warehouse cheap pricing feel..whatever that means..
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership. The salesman were over-the-top with pressure tactics, out-right lies and deception. After four hours of car warfare I was ready to sign- that is when the hidden fees and additional costs were revealed. When I asked about this money that had not been discussed I was told “that I didn’t need to know, it’s not important”. That was enough for me and I left without a new car. Nissan of Hempstead employees were the most unprofessional salesmen and managers I have ever encountered and if you were thinking of going there…DON’T!!
I recently visited Nissan of Garden City, i have received great customer service from my salesperson Mr Evans from the beginning to the end of the transaction
I’m greateful and thankful. If you plan to purchase a car, I truly recommand you to ask for Dwayne Evans you will be satisfy with his exceptional customer service skills.
1-Poor customer treatmenthttps://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/mad.gif
ie-massive use of profanity (Negative words)to customers
2-They admitted customer satisfaction is not their top priorityhttps://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif
3-Not keeping word, even with written contract.(changing prices and adding other fees without letting the customer know)
4-Arguing with customer when we ask for explanation about hidden charges.
5-Car that I did the paper work for, and the car that I was going to pick up was totally different. So I had to cancel the insurance and spend time and money changing the insurance.
6- Promised a navigation if a purchase was made, but backed off from the offer when all papers were signed.
7-Lie-Nance manager(Finance) lied about APR, credit score, and tried to mislead with buying the 2000 dollar warrantyhttps://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif
8-Again, Massive use of indecent words and insulting customers about our work, what we do, and how we tried to bargain to get hidden charges out of bill made us leave the dealership very well disappointed and hurt.https://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif
9- Management are more concerned about pissing of customer than satisfying them.https://cardealercheck.com/forum/images/smilies/mad.gif
—-Im not saying all the workers are bad, but try to avoid these guys especially LIE-NANCE people. Infact try to avoid Nissan Of Garden City at all cost.
Stay far away. These guys are liars and crooks. Total scam artists ripped me off for an additional $1200.00. Wasted 4 hours of my time.
I am liable for the last 2 payments on a vehicle that I returned when they told me they would pay up to 3 months of my old lease if I leased a new one with them. Flat out lie. I now have to pay for my old lease AND my new lease and the leasing company (NMAC) won’t do anything to help.
Stay far far away from these crooks. They should be wearing masks.
I bought a Versa from this dealership last month.
My Experience:
— Sales person was awesome.. He was helpful even after the purchase and made every attempt to make my purchase smooth..
— We negotiated for approximately 3 hours to bring down the price by $3000, which was our skill.
— But, the guy in finance is one person whom you would never like to talk. He is most annoying person in this world. He was sooo rude with us. Just because we didn’t take loan from him he was not cooperating with us. The way he reacted with us as if he is doing a favor by giving us the car.
— Please, avoid dealing with finance guy. He will try to show you down and push you to deal with him. Please, put the money down or get a loan from bank but do not talk to that person.
— Moreover at one instance he asked me to sit outside in the lobby as he said there are more customers waiting outside to see him. However, there was none. 🙁
First time I walked into Nissan I was greeted by a HORRIBLE salesperson ( I forgot his name) he was rude, answered personal calls and tried to lie to get me to purchase a car I did not want. As a fustrated customer I left. Then I was referred to Shawn and he was amazing! kind, cool and was there to answer all my questions. He gave me his personal number where I contact him even when he wasnt working to answer any questions I had. I was having trouble recieving a few faxes from my car insurance company and Shawn was there to help with no problem. I could honestly say Shawn was a major help and I walked away happy. He knows how to sell cars and please a company. He can sell water to a whale! He was the best dealer I have been too even outside of Nissan. :):)
I called Nissan of Garden City (Hempstead, NY) about a used vehicle, the day prior to going. I am 7hrs (each way) from this dealer. Took 3 calls to get someone to call me back. I asked how the car looked, since I was driving such a great distance, I’d like to make sure it was excellent. I was assured it was ‘perfect’, in and out.
So we made the trek the next day. Upon arrival, roughly 3pm, the dealership staff appeared in chaos, and no one really seemed to acknowledge that “a customer” just walked in (and it wasn’t even that busy.) A few minutes later, we were introduced to our sales guy, Mr. Black. Within a minute or two, we were headed out with him to look at the car. Before 2 doors were opened on the car, he’d gotten on his cellphone, and began discussing personal business, and walked off for about 5 minutes. We went ahead and started looking the car over. It was filthy. I mean filthy dirty. The “gray” leather was brown in places, coffee spills on the steering wheel, Navigation DVD missing, huge knot in a front tire’s sidewall (totally not safe), rear defroster wire broken from the window, interior trim clips missing, gum, candy, etc. stuck to seats and carpet. This is a 2007 Nissan Quest SE, on the lot, displayed for sale.
About 3:50pm, he spoke to us a second time. I relayed my initial concerns, and was told “We’ll get our best two detailers on it right now.”
About 4pm, the van had been taken somewhere, we figured to get cleaned.
Between 4pm and 630pm, we watched “our salesman” work with us, and 2 other separate customers, AT THE SAME TIME. No wonder his quality of commitment was so poor. Any rate, within this timeframe, we were spoken to about 2, maybe 3 times, in passing, with no personality. “they’re cleaning it.” “they’re getting close.” Whatever.
After discussing, for a few minutes, my concerns with the PAX (run flat, very expensive) tire’s condition (they were also chewed up and bald on the edges), the condition of the car, etc. They’re internet price was $18,995. They said they’d knock $100 off the internet price, and let me pay ‘dealer price’ for any extended warranty package I chose.
Big freaking deal. PAX replacements are in excess of 1500$/set, on the cheap side. Nissan replacement sets are ~ $900 per tire/wheel.
At shortly after 7pm, the van finally returned. Mr. Black states “It’s right outside. Here’s the keys, go check it out. They took care of the detailing and it’s good to go. Let me know what you think.”
so, my wife and I take the keys, and proceed out to look at it. Opened the driver’s door, and looky there. Coffee still on the steering wheel, seat leather hadn’t been touched, there were still dirt pieces on the floor… That’s when I stopped looking, closed the door, took the keys and dropped them on the GSM’s desk, and calmly stated “I’m done here.” We left.
Bottom line is, After being assured that it’s condition was ‘perfect in and out’, and them KNOWING that my trek from VA to NY was so far (not to mention costly), only to be treated like ‘a nobody’, and have to deal with poor business operations and lack of overall ethics. I have no idea how they have so many “#1 this” and “#1 that” banners. In my opinion, the only thing Nissan of Garden City is #1 in, poor practices.
In addition, since we had the opportunity to sit in the showroom for 4 hrs, we got to witness many, many displeased (potential) customers, and lots of irresponsible actions from employees to customers.
I will not step foot in Nissan of Garden City, ever again.
I went into the dealership on June, 2008 to purchase a car. I decided on A 2008 Nissan Altima. The sticker price was $26,000. I spoke to the salesperson, who sent me to the finance person. The finance person ran my credit. I had just closed on a house on March 28, and my credit had taken a hit as a result – or so the finance person said. He advised me to lease the car and finance through Nissan Credit. He said after one year, Nissan would only consider my payment relationship with them and I could purchase the car for a lower rate. I repeatedly said I was not comfortable leasing a car, but the salesperson reassured me that it would only be for one year. Reluctantly, I agreed. I put down $4500 and traded in my 1998 Mercedes Benz E320 for $3500. I was told that after one year of making payments of $439, I could purchase the car for $17K which made sense. I figured by the following year, my life would be settled and hopefully, I would be in a better financial condition.
The following year, I called Nissan Auto Finance to purchase the car. I was told that in order to purchase the car, I would have to finance $31,000. I asked how that was possible. At most, the car cost $26K and I put down close to $8K plus I had been paying $439 a month! The woman informed me that, in fact, the car would only be $17K AFTER 39 months of payments totaling $17K! In other words, I was charged over $41K for a car that should not have cost more than $26K. Not to mention it was the end of the model year!
When it comes to cars and car values I consider myself pretty savvy. I usually buy off-lease high end cars and drive them for ten years. I purchased the Nissan because it was cheap. I would have NEVER agreed to pay $40K for an Altima. I had been looking at other high end cars, but I didn’t want to spend the money at that time. Over the past year, I have been researching and have realized I have been ripped off! :devil( 😡
Didnt you atleast look at the price? For the love of god, if you say your savvy, why would you not look at the price your going to be paying for the car. Th eprice is clearly stated, they cannot get around that….
I agree that this dealership stinks, I bought my car there and dont really find much issue with the sales… but the service dept service stinks…
I went into to Nissan of Garden City. The bad thing is that I I thought I knew one of the salesmen and little did I know they were ALL crooks. I was shown a nice Nissan Maxima, test drove it and everything. Then both salesmen and their little team kept talking among themselves. I told them I had only $4k to put down and that was it. They kept asking me if I can put some more down and I said No. Then they brought me to a 2010 Nissan Sentra and said I need to build up my credit and I can finance this Sentra for a year and then bring it back to get a Maxima, same monthly payment and everything. I was very disappointed! They kept telling me if I finance the Sentra it would bring up my credit score and I only have to keep it a year. Mind you I got there around 2:30 p.m. and it is now 7:00 p.m. Finally I went in to see Ellen, she was one of the Finance Directors. She guaranteed me that I only had to keep the Sentra for a year and I can bring it back to them and trade it in for a nice Maxima, with the same monthly payment of $399 a month and Nissan was going to send me a check for $1200, so basically I would only be paying $299 a month. We did all the paperwork and I received the keys and the car. I asked what about the paperwork, don’t I get the originals? She said NO, we have to send them to the bank and we will mail them to you with the check for $1200. On June 3,4 and 5 I kept calling asking for Ellen to see where was my paperwork was and I finally spoke with Keith, Director of Purchasing. He told me to come in and he would give me all my paperwork. I get there on June 5 and they repossessed the Sentra, telling me that I was never approved for this car. I asked where was Ellen and they said she was FIRED! WHAT KIND OF SH_ _T is THAT! Now I am waiting for my money back. I would never EVER buy a car from this place AGAIN! I am writing to the CEO and the Better Business Bureau to let them know what is going on over there & I will be suing them as well!
I was cheated by the finance Dept.by adding another $2000.00 to lower the interest rate, and a 2 year extended bumper to bumper warranty without my approval.
I returned the next day to return the car.
Upon reviewing the contract with the owners of the dealership, they gave me an extra year of extended bumper to bumper and took off about 15 bucks of the monthly payment, and shorter term of 60 months instead of 63.
They knew that their own finance Rep. cheated me, and this was the justification they granted me to save the sale.
However, this experience put a dirty taste in my mouth. I will never return to that dealership for service, nor will I ever buy another car there again. I may never buy another Nissan. Nissan USA needs to investigate Garden City Nissan.
I have read other online complaints/reviews against this dealership, stating similar complaints against their financing dept.

😮 My wife and I were at the dealership on4/20/10 to view a used nissan murano that we saw on the internet, and that was listed for 15,989.00. Upon our arrival we were met by our salesman , Roosevelt, and informed him that we wanted to see the vehicle that was advertised. He went into the office for about 10 minutes, returning to notify us that the vehicle was in another lot and that he hould have to get it, and that it would ONLY take 5 minutes. While waiting for the vehicle to arrive, (which took about 20 minutes!) my wife and I walked around the used car lot looking at similar vehicles. We were appaled at the condition of the so called “Certified Pre-owned” vehicles! They were not detailed in any way, in fact, it looked like they barely took a vacum cleaner to the carpets. Every one of the cars were filthy on the inside as well as out, one car actually had a full length tear on the drivers seat from the headrest all the way down! The outside of these cars were no better, cracked lenses, dents, scuffs. I would be embarrassed to have one of theses cars in my driveway! When our Murano finally did arrive, it was in no better shape than the rest of them. When I told the salesman that the vehicle had ALOT of issues, Iasked him what could he do on the price. After he went back inside to speak to the sales manager, he told us he could only come down $180.00.!
If you are willing topay for an overpriced car that you will have to detail yourself, than go tothis dealership. However, if you want a reputable dealer…STAY AWAY!!
The fact that are based in Hempstead 11550 and call them selves Nissan Of Garden City is a tell tale of how you will be treated.
Nissan is a great car company, but save yourself a lot of agravation and buy your car from another Nissan dealer.
Anyone who reads this please take it into honest consideration before you lease/finance or get any type of service from Nissan of Garden City. Besides the fact that they have no customer service skills, they are all crooks who are out for themselves. There Service dept is as invconvenient as they get and a total trap to get you to buy overpriced parts and services that you don’t need. MEL the guy who got me to lease the Altima to begin with told me that over miles is something that always gets overlooked when you turn in your lease. He said that I didn’t need 15k a year b/c it is very rare that they actually charge you for going over. Told me that I would get a letter from Nissan about 6 months before my turn in date to return my lease early with NO termination fees and as long as I leased another Nissan they would overlook all wear and milage. ALL BULLS*IT!! they got me and I hope this helps someone else avoid the headache I am going through right now.
I have a long story, but needless to say, my first car purchased was not from there but the person i got it from used them to get me my car, they were on my contract, so long story short, the org car i had for 8 months died, the engine went and being nissan of garden city was on my contract, and the person i orginally got the car from had closed his biz to obvious reasons, needless to say, yes i was at nissan for 5 hrs trying to figure things out, I needed a car, so the finace woman that handled everything made it a point that i walked out of there with a better truck i origanally had, and tried her hardest to get me the payments that i needed, they were alittle more than i wanted but due to being screwed before i had to suck it up, Ellen was her name and she was very patient with us, as we were with her, Jose also was great to us and helped is any way, and being i was there for 5 hrs I watched alot of the salesmen helping customers and they were very polite and helpful to them, just want to thank you nissan of garden city for going out of your way and correcting someone elses mistakes:)
So I go into this dealership on in December 2009 and I needed a car desperately. Stupidly enough I didn’t do my homework and go to other dealers to see who would give me the best rate…this is something I will regret for the rest of my life. I was told by the salesman that a 2010 Nissan Rogue AWD would cost $22,000. Little did I know after hearing from this “finance manager” if you want to call him that, I prefer the words Liar and Scam Artist, that all of these things would be “included” in my car for the price the salesman gave of $22,000 such as a Maintenance+ warranty, a Security+ warranty, a better car alarm, a remote start, and a GPS anti-theft tracking device. NONE OF THESE WERE “INCLUDED”…none of it. My monthly payments wound up being almost $500/month when I put $10,000 down plus a trade-in. The car came to almost $40,000!!! My interest rate was 13% originally, I had to pay $4,000 to bring it down to 8% not to mention being charged $4,000 for the alarm and tracking device, along with $4,000 for the two warranties. Since I needed a car badly and was in a rush (horrible decision on my part as well) I was not only Lied to, but taken advantage of. My finance manager was John Rodriguez. This disgusting human being told me how all of this was “included” and it wasn’t, he told me how I couldn’t cancel my warranties because of many outrageous reasons (the bank was covering themselves by me having these warranties…which makes no sense, I signed a release letter for a check they gave me after they saw how furious I was a couple weeks earlier and I was told I had to give the check back and that the release form prevented me from cancelling, and that Nissan was losing a profit from me cancelling as well, another ridiculous excuse that was a lie) and when I came in to do the actual paperwork he said not a word to me except for at the end when he made a copy and said “you won, congratulations you won” and walked away pissed off. He also originally told me how I couldn’t get a loan for the car unless I had the GPS Guidepoint and a better alarm installed and how it was all being “absorbed into the interest” which was a lie, not to mention my father even co-signed, further proving this was all a big lie. At one point I said I was confused and he says to me, “I don’t know why you’re questioning me, but I dont have to let you use my fax machine, I can tell you to fax it yourself, so don’t question me!”.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!!!! EVERYONE THERE IS A CON-ARTIST. THEY WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO SIGN, AT WHICH POINT IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE.
I am writing a letter to the CEO of Nissan and several other significant people about what is taking place at this alleged “dealership”. This has to come to an end.
THEY PRETTY MUCH DID THE SAME THING TO ME 3 YEARS AGO AND I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THEM TO COURT.
Yes, Liars, low lives, scammers, etc. They did the same thing to me.
We walked into the dealership after visiting 3 other Nissan dealerships in Nassau county – we were trading in an old Altima for a new 2009 Altima. We knew what to expect and were fair. We weren’t not at all pleased with the numbers/sales – but we were done negotiating and said fine – let’s do it. What upset it more than anything is we asked at 6:30 LETS JUST GET THIS DONE TONIGHT. HERE’S ALL OUR INFORMATION, OUR CELL NUMBERS. LET US GO GET A BITE TO EAT IN GARDEN CITY – 5 MINS AWAY AND WE’LL BE BACK. KYLE INSISTED – NO YOU CAN’T DO THAT THEY MAY NEED YOU TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. IT’LL ONLY BE 1/2 HOUR. OVER 3 HOURS LATER!!!! THEY FINALLY CALLED US IN. 3 MISERABLE HOURS sitting starving in a car dealership eating their soda and chips for dinner wihle we specifically said to let us leave and come back. OK – now it is about 9:30 at night and we are ready to go home, we get the wrong interior color car – we say fine – because it’s been 3 HOURS AND WE ARE TIRED!!!! Then within 2 days my husband notices a very minor window blade not going over the window – probably just needs a new blade – a 5 minute fix the sales man could do – he calls and Kyle says sure come on in – I’m here 12:30 on Tuesday. My husband goes in on his day off at 12:30 – and he is told wait in line at the service counter – it could be more hours!!!! And then Nissan won’t refund the 1 month lease payment I already paid turning in the car early. NEVER AGAIN. THE COMPANY SATURN MAY NOT MAKE A COMPARABLE CAR BUT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THIS – NO COMPARISON.
saturday July 25th credit rating 628 (not good but not that bad) Im 24 and a teacher in Nassau County I needed new car and wanted a Nissan Sentra….after 4 hours of the “run around” I was infomed that for 11.9% interest I could drive the car away, I don’t
think the finance manager would let his mom drive a car at 11.9%, what a waste of time this was, went to another Nissan dealer and was approved for 6.9% with the possiblity of 0.9%…go figure, never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So as a teacher….this dealer gets an F
After numerous back and forth emails and calls with Regis, including 5-6 calls confirming we would be coming in to meet with him on Saturday AND that the car was in stock, he wasn’t even there when we showed up and we were passed off to another gentleman (Jim? John? Honestly don’t recall his name). After haggling with us for a time about pricing, which we would not budge from, he informed us he didn’t even have the car in stock but then demanded a $500 deposit to get one from another dealer. We refused to put any deposit down on a vehicle not even in stock or even an idea of when they would be getting one in. We then had a glance at their “fees” and were appalled at the sheer number of fees and the amounts that they add on to your purchase. We left and he told us to come back when we were “serious” about purchasing a car, which is a shame because we drove right over to the dealer who HAD the car and would give us a price, made the deal that day. Too bad, so sad that Nissan of Garden City wanted to do nothing more than waste our time and play games. And yet, they’re still calling us to see if we’re coming in “today to meet with Regis”??? Ugh.
On 3/14/09 I visited Nissan of Garden City in order to purchase a car. I met with a sales person named Jose. After taking my application, he informed me that he would get me approved for a 2007 black Nissan Murano at a cost of $14000. As part of the agreement he agreed to pay the remainder of my existing car note for my 2000 Toyota Sienna at $6298.00, which was a huge incentive. He said it would take 10-14 days to be approved because this was a “special arrangement”.
On 3/26/09 I called Jose to explain that I needed to continue to make payments on my Toyota Sienna. He apologized for the inconvenience and said that he would make 2 payments totaling $1006 with “voucher money” from the dealership. He asked for my bank acct number so he could transfer the voucher money into my account, allowing me to pay my current car note. I later found out that this transfer was deducted from my down-payment, in violation of our agreement.
On 4/2/09, I told Jose that I refused to wait any longer and that I wanted a refund. He reassured me that I could pick up the new car on Thursday, 4/9/09. However, on 4/9/09 when I called Jose to arrange for pickup of the new car, he stalled. I did not hear from Jose at all that day, although I tried contacting him repeatedly. The next morning I finally spoke to him and requested a refund again; he then transferred all but $50 back into my account. I later called Nissan of Garden City to make a formal complaint and get the $50 refunded. However, I was told that no one was available and that Ricky, the sales manager would return my call. I have not received any call to date, nor have I received the $50 I am owed.
I would like my refund of $50, as well as to lodge a formal complaint regarding the business practices of the sales staff at Nissan of Garden City. I am also concerned about the exposure of my personal and confidential financial information unnecessarily and would like some recourse taken as to the security of my information.
The practices of this business are predatory and deceptive. On the day that I was supposed to pick my vehicle up, Jose claimed that he was just “verifying the numbers” and then I would be able to pick the car up. In fact, Jose did not have any deal in place and wasted 1 month of my time claiming that the additional time was needed to process a special loan with a low interest rate. Additionally, the staff at Nissan of Garden City did not provide me with any solution or alternatives to address my problems with their sales tactics. I have been promised return phone calls from both Ricky (sales manager) and Mark Farouq (sales manager) and have received nothing to date.
Damage Resulting = My personal information (paystubs, bank account information, utility bills, credit report, employment information) was exposed to a con artist that had no intention of selling me a vehicle. $1000 was deducted from my down payment, leaving me with an incomplete deposit on a legitimate car deal.In addition, I still have not received my $50 refund from the dealership, nor do I have a car.
