This dealership wanted $4000.00 more for the exact same optioned new truck than another dealer wanted. My salesperson, Chris was nice enough, but when I would not increase my offer on the new truck, the manager became rude, condescending and went around the corner and had a big laugh with his manager buddies. Avoid this dealership at all costs. There are much better deals to be had elsewhere and nicer people also.
I have been trying to rebuild my credit after filing bankruptcy two years ago. I went to Modern Chevy because my friend said that they were really good at getting loans for people that have had credit issues. I went in with no money down and was approved for a new malibu the same day. The price on the internet was really low compared to other dealers I had looked at. The people at Modern treated me with respect from the minute I walked in to the minute I drove away in my new car. thank you Monte. thank you Modern.

The ONLY reason I gave the Greeting a high score was because they made sure to greet me well as they tried to REEL ME IN!! After almost 4 days of trying to finalize everything; got a good response from the finance company; Modern Chevrolet on University finally showed their TRUE colors by announcing I could only get a car by putting 10% down. Even though for days I constantly voiced my doubts to them about them being able to get me financing, they did. But then I was in fact told 2 other different “for sure” outcomes on 2 different days, only to be told on the last day, that even though I was approved for a car, it couldn’t be new car afterall and I had to put 10% down, whereas before for days I was told either only a small amount down and then told no money down. How in the world do you go from all that, to “even though the finance compnay approves you for X amount of money, we have to have 10% down now.”???? I think they REALLY thought that because they had been leading me around by the nose (or so they thought) for almost 4 days that I’d just hustle up that 10% from somewhere so I could make a purchase. They thought I was desperate….well I actually wasn’t and told them NO DEAL!! I have been told by countless others who have the same impression of this company that the only reason they wanted 10% down was so they could put IMMEDIATE money in the pockets of the Sales Rep and other’s at Modern Chevrolet. I think some people they probably do give a decent deal to, but others they just decide to try and “stick it to them”. Also, at one point on the last day I had the sales rep suddenly act rude and all his faked repsect for me as a potential customer stopped, raising his voice by yelling and talking down to me. He tried to play a “good guy”, “I can put you in a new car”, “only has my best interest at heart” role for the first 3 days, but then changed to “a bad guy” role by trying to intimidate me. I am disgusted by the behavior of the Sales Rep and the Service person and the Finance person all working at Modern Cherolet!

The finance manager is very unprofessional and rude. Bad ethics.
They haven’t gotten any better almost a year later….pathetic and desperate is what they are!
