I need to say I have had nothing short of an amazing experience with Ocean Honda in Port Richey. I was hit head on in March of this year and my 4th used car in 3 years was totaled after I put thousands of dollars into it. I decided after that accident to try to get a new car, I am 20 years old though with no credit history so I was sure I wouldn’t qualify, I went into the dealership and walked out the same day with the exact orange Honda Fit Sport w/Manual Transmission that I walked in there asking for with an excellent APR and their CarDoc program, which is what I am here to talk about.
I could not be happier with my new car, it is everything I could have asked for and more, but the CarDoc service has changed my life forever. No more throwing $400 a month at a used car because something else broke, I drive to the dealership and enjoy all of the complimentary food and drinks while all of my services are managed by my CarDoc Advisor Tito G. The first time I came in for my first oil change I was fortunate enough to meet Tito and he became my advisor, he took the time to ask me how much I drive and what I like and don’t like about my car. I drive 80 miles to work and 80 miles home five days a week, but they are all highway miles, so Tito showed me how to see when I need to come in for the oil and manages my services so that I get the most out of them. I text him every time I want to come in and he always responds right away, he is so funny and friendly I actually enjoy going to have services done to my car! Crazy right?
But that isn’t the end of the story, it was August 23rd so about two weeks ago this brand new car that I am in love with was messed up bad. The drain plug fell out of the oil pan as I was driving to work and all of the oil started dumping out, I pulled over as soon as I saw the oil light but it was too late. I called Tito freaking out thinking I might have cracked the oil pan or something, he gave me the number to the tow serviced offered with my program and told me to come in right away that he would fit me in. After a couple of hours being at the dealership Tito called me and told me I needed a new engine – the world stopped and I was terrified that I would get completely screwed over on my new car I was working so hard for – but he had already found an engine that only had 9,000 miles on it (my car had over 23,000 at the time) and he assured me I would be taken car of. But, admittedly I thought I would have to fight, the while no one has touched my car ever other than this dealership the oil was changed almost 3 weeks prior to that and I thought they would tell me to call my insurance company. When I got back to the dealership he handed me the keys to a beautiful Honda Civic Coupe that was my absolute favorite color and told me he would keep me updated but that he needed a couple of days. I was scared but I let myself trust him, what other choice did I have? He called me two days later and told me he had everything worked out that the dealership would cover the engine for me and that he would have it done as soon as he could. True to his word and coming in early just so I could pick it up before work, after many texts, many questions, even me texting him on a Sunday afternoon not even realizing he wasn’t at work to bother him with even more questions, I picked up my car today with that engine at no cost to me AND he even had it detailed – it is so beautiful, just like new. Tito has made this experience so easy, easier than anyone else could have for me, he has such a good relationship with me and took the time to get to know me so he knows when I need a joke and when I need serious facts. He sent me picture updates to calm my anxieties and has never been dishonest with me even when he has had to tell me things I did not want to hear. I can tell you without a doubt I will be going to Ocean Honda for the rest of my life for my next car, for my dream car (Honda Civic Type R ;)), and for any services I ever need. I hope I will always be blessed with an advisor like Tito, and I hope Tito gets every recognition he deserves for taking care of me so well. Thank you Ocean Honda, and especially Tito!!!
Only an inherently BAD dealership can take a potentially good experience and turn it around into a negative one. Not only did they make off with a Class 3 hitch on our trade-in but that was not enough for them to get for free. Now someone has been using our Sun Pass transponder that according to “Richard” is impossible b/c “we remove all stickers from the cars we re-sell”. Now they put it in the negative balance and I have to pay the overage to de-activate it!! So, obviously NOT Richard because someone has been driving around Tampa with my Sun Pass Mini racking up tolls!! What a bunch of scumbags! This reveals the heart of the organization and demonstrates total disregard for their customers! They deserve to go out of business and I hope this helps that process! My advice to you is: hire someone just a shady to go through this deal with you or get FLEECED by Ocean Honda!
The sales end is pretty normal car dealer experience, pressured to buy and a little slight of hand, nothing out of the ordinary (be educated before you go in), however, the service side thats another issue. They are dishonest and conveneiently have no record of your multiple complaints at previous visits when the warranty was still in effect, and the same issue is still occuring after the expiration of the warranty. They are rude on the phone and treat the customer poorly. I work in a customer service industry and they could learn quite a bit. Look into MAGIC training for your representatives, and maybe they will refrain from calling your cusotmers liars. I am filing a complaint with American Honda and the State. Do business elsewere, you need not be treated in this manner when you are spending tens of thousands of your hard earned dollars.
could leave a LONG lengthy message….just take this:
Buyer Beware…..!!!!!
Read reviews before you shop (lesson learned)
Went there for recall issue. I was treated like royalty. I did speak with a salesman and looked at some cars while I waited for mine to be done. No pressure to buy–just gave me a card. JR, in the service dept., was awesome!!! I went back the following day for oil change and minor issues. I bought my Accord from the Toyota place–they treated me like I bought the car from them–changed oil, washed it, no pressure to buy extra items or services, even offered me lunch on the house. Totally different experience then the above. I went there once before it changed hands, and it was awful. I will go there until I have a reason not to.
Bud Monday does not follow through on commitments and is willing to lie and deceive to take advantage of a senior citizen. He does not do what he should do or what he says he will. When confronted and told we would write a negative review, he threatens to write one on our business since he knows we own a small local business. Way to be a professional mr. monday. JUST SAY NO to Bud Monday and do not buy from him. Consider yourself warned!
I wouldn’t reccomend this dealership. I saw a truck on their lot I was interested in and told the salesperson. For some reason he couldn’t get me a price. Then the owner got involved and tried to sell me a new Fit. He called it “kick ass”. What kind of language is that to say to a older female customer? It was like I couldn’t buy the vehicle that I wanted, every time I’d ask the salesman about the truck that I WAS INTERESTED IN, he had no price for me. Also, they are big on trying to convince you to lease a car.
I found them to be uninformed, never fixed or figured out where the noise from my car was coming from. I made an appointment in advance and they were unprepared (still needing to order parts)so they wasted my time. Overall, I have decided not only will I not be going back, my next vehicle will NOT be a honda!
Ocean Honda of Port Richey, Has for a lack of better words, found a loop whole In the law to lie and be deceptive.
Both the owner Mr. Jeffrey Cappo and salesmen, Louis Denmark. Are lying crooks!!!
They do this freely cause they know that they can get away with It. Apparently there Is no state agency that can do anything about It. So once you sign that contract, you’re pretty much on your own.
The fact that they can lie to a consumer With documentations and still get away with It, Is mind boggling!!!
So before you take the word of salesperson at
Ocean Honda, of Port Richey,
Go home, check the real blue book value of the vehicle you are planning to purchase and see the ( Real Price ) .
A free public announcement..
Trust me I should, and have better things I can be doing.
But when you paid Approx. $17,491.00 For a pre-owned 2009 Nissan Sentra with 21,000+ Miles
That they also had It advertised at the same time for 12,910.00 on there website. You become sick to your stomach.
If this Is not Consumer Fraud, than what Is..
It seems this Is my only recourse of action left.
This comment definitively needs to be place and filled out on the Federal Trade Commissions website.
On Dec. 4Th. 2011 morning both Me and my wife was watching the news on fox 13,
We happened to see a car ad that caught our attention it was Ocean Honda of Port Richey in Florida.
They where advertising a deal that could allow a customer to trade In there car, and even If they still owe money on It,
the dealer would paid the customer 125% book value on the trade-in those the purchase of another vehicle. And still be able to keep what ever payment amount
We had on the trade-in vehicle.
We thought to ourselves we have a 2007 Chevy Impala LT. With 54,000 miles. In good condition with the exception of about 50% wear on the tires. We didn’t get to go to the dealership on that weekend, But recalled that ad on Dec.7 and decided to look up the dealer phone number online and give them a call.
I placed that call at around 12:00 noon on Wednesday. I got a gentleman name Louis Denmark on the phone, I begun explaining to him that we had seen there ad over the weekend but had
Become tide up with shores, but that we wanted to know If that deal they had advertise was over or not. He than informed me that It was still in affect, and when could we come down, He was going to be working all day. So I look at my wife and said, we could come down within an hour or so. He then said when you get in tell anyone that you’re being helped
By me and they would direct you to me.
We where taking to his desk, at which point we Introduce our self’s and shook hands. He than ask us have a seat, And started by asking us where we where originally from and we said New York and what did we do for a living. Friendly small talk, Chit-Chat, and if we had a particular kind of car in mind. I said, we are looking to upgrade from what we have. Something maybe a couple of years newer, but not brand new. Because I’m pretty much out of work and my wife is retired
And paying all the bills with her pension, But the reason for us coming in was because what they where offering was to good to past up. Our car was becoming
5 yrs. old and that we where trying to avoid break downs that In my opinion happens to car within 5 to 7 yrs. Of age like alternator’s, starters, shocks, ect.
Than we said we would like something In White if possible, because our last two cars had been Silver. He said let me see what I got available. Came back to us within 5 to 10 mins. And said come with me to there side door I have a car I think you guys will like.
He had a 2009 Nissan Sentra in White that looked really good. He commented that It was also a 4 Cylinder and that compared to our Impala that was a 6 Cyl.
It would save us money in gas as well, and with the price of gas being so unstable it would make a lot of sense, he added.
I went out for a test drive with him, because my wife said your are the expert when it comes to checking out the car.
The car was great. We came back sat down at desk again. I told my wife you’ll like this car it was more or less like the satin she had 2 in the past yrs.
He said let me go crunch some numbers to see what we can offer you on you Impala. Can I have your key so that we can check it out.
I’ll be rite back. Came back within 10 to 15 mins. and said we can offer you $10,000 for your Impala In a trade-in, I had done a Kelly’s Blue Book on my Impala prior to going to the dealer so that I would know the value of my car In case we made a deal. He said can’t offer you more for yours cause It needs 4 new tires. I said what’s the price for the Nissan
He said $17900.00 We said wow that’s more than we expected. He said this car had only one owner and that It had only 21,000 miles.
and part of the manufacturer’s warranty still in affect. I than said do you have a car fax on It. he replied, no problem let me go and print it out,
and I said also whets the book value. he said I’ll bring that too. I made a little joke cause is not that I don’t trust you, Is just that I Don’t! Trust you. And we both laughed.
When He returned He handed us the car fax and pointed out that it also continded the book
value of the car. He pointed out that the high retailed was $18,221.00 and the low was $17,991.00 I said can you do better he said
give me a second let me speak to the boss he’s here. came back will do $17,411.00
me and my wife thought we like the car 2 yrs. newer and about 30,000 miles less. so we said yes we’ll take it. He great you got yourselves a good car.
and we shocked hands again.
He said come with me and Introduced us to a women that would handle the paper work with us. I’ll go and top off the gas on your new car and have it recleaned. again cause it had rained I said you’re
kidding It’s cleaned. And laughed.
We where at this dealer from around 1:00Pm till 6:30pm It took them that long to do the paper work and find us a bank loan for the balance.
At one point the lady that was helping us. Said to us if we would like to purchase a extended warranty. And I said the car still has part of the warranty
She said yes but only 2 more month. We almost change our minds but they went and got the boss, and heb said If you take this car I’ll throw in a little give and came back
with a small kit In case you ever broke down on the road we laughed and said we have AAA. They said we will give you 4 yrs. bumper to bumper with only
$100.00 deductible for the low cost of $1500.00 and we will add that amount also to the loan so that there will be o out of pocket cost to you up front.
We than said ok. We left there approx. 7:00pm Hungary tired but happy. With our next to new car. stoped at Boston Market picked up dinner home to eat..
That evening after settling in I decided to run a Blue Book on the new car. I tell you I got sick to my stomach I got $11,600.00 I ran It again thinking I must of made a mistake, and again came back pretty much the same. But than on Kelly’s Blue Book It show a tab on similar cars for sale, within my area and the first car I see Is the actual car that we bought being advertised on Ocean Honda’s website for $12900.00 I didn’t sleep all night, cause I was so upset. The very next morning ran back to the dealer to find out why is this happing to find that the salesmen that made the deal had the day off. Which was another slap and the face, cause he was going to get us another key made alone with a set of automatic door openers.
The very next day.. Because all they had was just one key that they could find. And he told me and my wife first thing in the morning he would call Nissan and have them supply the key and automatic openers free of charge for us. So I ask for the boss who was there and said to him what the hell it’s going on and provided him with a copy I printed out the night before on the advertise of $12,900.00 and the real book value on the car they sold us. And he said to us I don’t understand what you are talking about. If you want pick another car that’s It, I said absolutely NOT! And than he said to us than get the hell out of here. And walked away. I proceeded to dial 911 to get a Police down to take a report and the port Richey police told me on the phone that It was strictly a civil matter and we don’t come down for that. They Robed us for over $7500.00 and with false document, lie’s, “Consumer Fraud” in the worst possible way. And I can’t even get the police to take a report! Are they kidding me.. This Is Criminal!!! We were Robed!!! This is not buyer beware!!!
Wow what a crooked world we live in. . We have proof and the documents of all we have said …
When a Supposedly Legitimate Business runs a ad on television, It’s suppose to be intended for the general Public to come in and SAVE the people Money NOT to Rob them. They got our car for FREE in the trade. Cause they lied on the document that they had a choice to give us. And sold us a car in it’s place that we couldn’t get $11,000.00 for it if we sold it the next day.. And we are left walking away with a bank loan of over $14000.00 This CAN’T be right, We never thought that we would have to protect ourselves in the fashion, and put our wallets in our ankles. From a full blown new Car Dealership like this. Never even heard of a use car dealers being that crooked for such a high Dollar amount. Again, This Is Criminal! And if this is not. Well than there is something wrong with the laws In this Country, That we the people can get screwed so openly with no recourse outside of having to give a lawyer a whole lot of money to see if He/She can do something about It. Very Wrong! We are not rich, I’ve been out of work for over 6 yrs. And my wife has to pay all the bills with her pension..
John Martz the internet sales manager is a great guy. He’s honest, dependable and likable all the things a car salesman is not supposed to be. He organised a courtesy car for us. He made sure all our documents were in place and we were comfortable with the sale. Thing is he’s no longer with Ocean Honda. We are giving bad ratings because he’s no longer there. Before his departure another internet guy started to email us saying he’s the internet director and that he hopes his sales consultants were contacting us and that we could contact him directly. This seemed like an odd email and that he was undercutting John. Well if it quacks like a duck it is a duck. He was undercutting our guy John. Shame on him and on the dealership. I don’t think we’ll be going there again. Another thing is the temporary plates they gave us expired before we received our updated sticker. We were told that an updated one would be awaiting us. When we went in it was a song and dance about how they cannot issue another temporary one since the girl handling it is out and we’re going to get the new sticker tomorrow. Then why tell us to come pick it up today?! Sounds like John was the only honest guy there. The rest…stay away.
Comments directed at the mandated guidance sales people must follow in order to represent the Ken Dixon Honda dealership in Waldorf. Walked into the show room. Asked a car representative, Eric to test drive a CRV vehicle. In turn, I provided my driver’s license to the sales representative, Eric. He move behind his desk rather then to seek a set of car keys. He then started asking why I am in the dealership, asking if I was replacing a my car or to trade in a my car. After refusing that question, Eric persisted in getting a response. I refused again to answer the question. Then he wanted to know where I worked. Again, I refused to respond, and requested all further questions pertain to the vehicle I was interested in test driving. Eric stated he needed to ask these questions otherwise he’ll be fired. He then took my license to seek out help from a manager. About minute later the pink shirted manager showed up with my license in his hand. I removed it from his hand to which he became irate. He was upset that I had “snatch” my driver’s license out of his hand before he could explain their policy in selling a car. He walked away without so much of a apology, nor did Eric provide any. I walked out shocked and dismayed at the arrogance of this dealership.
I do not recommend this establishment.
