We went to Menlove because we figured with a company that’s been around for so many years, we would for sure be treated right. Boy were we wrong… After we looked at their cars and settled on a Buick, we were taken back to do the paperwork with Dawn. We explained to her our bad experiences with other dealerships and she assured us that we wouldn’t get that treatment there. We also told her of our hardships we experienced that year. We had been having some major life setbacks, and she actually acted like she cared. Great liar is what she was. We were promised to be taken care of yet the first thing they do is jack up the price of the payments to your absolute maximum, not caring how it will be paid.. Then they brag about no commissions and no interest, yet charge more than DOUBLE for the value of the car. WTF!? So us, being desperate, needing the car to work, accepted the bs contract.. Well about 2 hours after I drove off the lot the check engine light came on. That was just the beginning of our growing displeasure with this horrible company. So after 4 times bringing it back in, all on our time and gas with zero compensation, I got frustrated and started writing emails. Needless to say they were ignored. The last straw for me was when the next round of problems started and the car left me stranded twice. I had to quit my job because I could no longer get there. The despicable people at Menlove sold me a lemon.. When I called and explained, nicely that I just couldn’t pay for an unreliable car, I was given zero sympathy and was hung up on, twice by Lori. Not only that, but when I asked for a manager, Axel sat on the phone for 15 minutes, belittling and yelling at me, acting like I was the wrong one because they sold me a POS car.. And all because I needed to get my child from school, they had turned off my car and he told me he didn’t care if my child had to walk home 2 hours. Needless to say, I was extremely upset after that phone call, and almost had an episode. I have heart problems and they don’t care at all…. Please DON’T go to Menlove.. They only care about their money. They don’t know what it means to be a little guy
Purchased new 2006 Toyota Sequoia. Very satisfied with vehicle and salesman. We also purchased a Toyota Platinum extended warranty with documentation promising a refund of warranty price if it was not used. All documentation signed by Menlove personnel with Menlove business headings. At end of warranty (this month), find out that the actual backers of refund (Signet Financial) have gone bankrupt. I asked Menlove for their position in this issue since I never made an agreement with Signet – I made it with Menlove (think of Signet as a sub-contractor). They quickly explained that they have new ownership and have no intention of addressing the issue. Do not recommend this dealership.
I came in looking for a car, looking at new vehicles. I was aware my credit was not perfect, but I had a 700+ score. however, when I came in, they outright REFUSED to let me look at new cars, and whisked me to Fresh start ( Come to find out, It was because the salesman I had been greeted with, had a friend in fresh start who was low on quota.). They Rushed me to pick between to cars, in a side ways way. Between a Geo Metro, and a Saturn SC2. I figured they were asking me figuratively, so I said the saturn. While one guy let me look in the inside of the car ( Refusing to let me test drive, may I add), the other guy Ran everything, and even drafted the paper work to get the car. I Shrugged it off, figuring Saturn, 1999 model, and I have work in 2 hours Whatever, it is a car, I can pay it off in 2 years time with super low payments and be done. I was PROMISED that it would be paid off in two years. After being FORCED to sign away and REFUSED to be allowed to READ the paper work, It was not until I was in the Car, going over the documents and realized WHY they REFUSED to let me read the paper work. Kelly blue book for this car, 2k MAX if in PRISTINE condition, and perfect mechanical. Their “Loan amount” $11,000. That is right over FIVE TIMES the Edmunds AND KELLY BLUE BOOK DEALERSHIP SELLER AMOUNT.
I Stormed back in FURIOUS the next day, to which I got a Shrug and a to bad you already signed and there is no returns for USED cars from The Lady at the Front desk, and the Salesmen who ripped me out, Burst out laughing. POINTING AND LAUGHING AT ME. Then I was “assured” that it would be paid off in two years.
2 years after I got the damn thing, ( With Maintenance. WE had Placed on new brakes, Oil changes once EVERY 2 months, everything. So its not like I don’t KNOW how to Take care of a CAR.) The TRANSMISSION DIED. To which I took it to Menlove to Get fixed. To which then is when they told me ‘ Oh yea..’ On the Note it may take you FOUR YEARS to pay off. Sorry We lied. their Excuse “We tell everyone that. It is how we get business.”
Then even more trouble. There were issue with their damn website on paying. Stupid pay pall would supposedly “Not send them their Confirmation email” that I paid my note every two weeks.
So Every TWO WEEKS I got Harassing phone calls of how they are going to TOW AWAY the car, or Put me to collects due to no payment. Then I thought, FINE I will pay over the phone. I was told there is a $20.00 SUR CHARGE to make the payment over the phone. So the Website is broken, and I have to pay you guys an ADDITIONAL $20.00 to make my car note. The first time I said FINE charge me.
The VERY NEXT DAY I got ANOTHER Phone call of ‘Due to missed payment we are going to tow your car, We know where the car is, and have already called the tow truck.’
I Called back, and I was told no one in Fresh start was in today. SO I WROTE ONE NASTY email. And Got to speak to Jeremy Anderson. He was Decent. Not the Common Rob you blind Menlove Sleeze, which was refreshing, but he was the same Rip-people-off oriented Jerk like the rest of them. Who also stated “We tell everyone that. It is how we get business.”
I called several times, asking about warrenties on the Work done on the transmission, since it was starting to Get weird again, like there were metal chips in there Screwing up the works. TO which they said ” We only Guarantee work for a Week, even on Warranted cars.
FINALLY FOUR YEARS LATER I pay off the damn thing. And I ask, Can I get the Title. To which I was told I would be sent the title on the day they recieve last payment. So I paid my last payment and Called, and was told ” Yep in the mail. That was on, 11-11-2011 the day you made the last payment”. Thanks Giving rolls around, Still no title… SO I give them a call. the reply I got!
“oh the title was sent, if it was lost in the mail its your own damn fault, oh and we don’t have copies so It looks like you won’t the title. However, if you some and use that car as a Trade in, we will dismiss the fact you don’t have a TITLE and let you get another used car.”
SO I BLEW, I emailed Jeremey, since obviously he is never available to take calls, And then he told me he Simply forgot, and was sending it that day.
They WERE NOT GOING TO SEND ME MY TITLE. UNTIL I MADE AN EMAIL THREATENING TO GET A LAWYER.
Upon Receiving my title FINALLY in the mail, it being Now in December. I called and asked for copy of the receipt of the work you did. Because the transmission is NOT okay and I need to verify that the transmission you gave me was NEW, since you CHARGED ME the NEW TRANSMISSION PRICE. To which I was told, they never keep that information for over a month because They don’t Ever Guarantee the work.
Well, the TRANSMISSION FAILED. AGAIN. So once again, a Call to Menlove. To which I was told, “We didn’t get you a NEW TRANSMISSION, we just did a POWER FLUSH on your old one. and changed the Filter, did a little cleaning on the thing.” FRESHSTART TOLD THEM to NOT FIX the problem and GET me a NEW transmission, But DELAY the CARS BREAKING, since it was obvious I was going to pay it off instead of TRADING IT BACK IN.
I wish I was also the ONLY ONE THIS HAPPENED TO. Read the reviews Everywhere. Google and See.
Seriously DON’T GO HERE. And if you have you. HAVE A LEGAL ADVISER WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME. This dealership is HORRIBLE.
like the car was there over 4 hours . the sales men was fine he got us the car had to do some of the follow up my self
Terrible customer service. The information i have acquired after making a purchase with menlove is that all the honest workers quit working at menlove because of how crooked and dishonest they have become. They charge outrageous fees for absolutely nothing, once you have purchased and signed a contract, you are not worth their time. Every last slogan they have on ads and anything to do with marketing is misleading. Most dishonest human beings i have been around for a long time. The specific individuals that put this bad taste in my mouth: Joey Furtado(salesman), some guy named Buddy (Smooth talking “manager”) Jonathan Parker (Crooked financial manager)
They will smooth talk you until you actually sign something.
***DO NOT BUY FROM MENLOVE!!!***
NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP!!!
I would have given them a 0 star rating if that was an option. I was shopping for a new SUV and went to the Menlove dealership. The salesguy was very pushy and kept insisting that we should get a leased vehicle. We travel a lot and we told them that a leased vehicle will not work well as we may be in another state when the lease is up. We spoke to the manager and he assured us that we can return the vehicle null and clear to any Toyota dealership in any state. They also got us into a very high lease. Now I am in WA and the lease company is telling me that Menlove lied to me and I have to bear the cost to ship the vehicle back to UT at the end of the lease. I will also be responsible for any damages enroute to UT. Will never recommend anyone to go to Menlove. They outright lied to us with a straight face.
