I have been dealing with this dealer for 6 years. I am on my third Camery Lease.
I have never had such good service in over 30 years of car ownership.
First – the cars have been mechanically sound. Not one mechanical probloem in 6 years. The mileage and operation were exactly as promised.
Second – the staff at this dealership really care about service. Any issue that I had, any question that I asked was dealt with and or answered immedatly.
They bent over backwards to make each of the three leases work.
They fix what needs fixing and do it right the first time.
My email is [email protected]. I am a real customer, not related or employed byToyota.
I AM FURIOUS!! I saw an ad in the UFT newspaper on leasing a Camry. I called to confirm the details, was told that the leasing offer was correct, and made an appt with Cammy for today at 2PM; I get there and I’m told it’s his day off. It took me an hour to get there and after being there an hour, I was told by the head salesperson that the offer in the UFT teacher newspaper was a misprint. I had read the ad to Cammy on the phone (new 2012 Camry LE, $169 per month, $0 down, $0 1st month payment, $0 security deposit, and a $500 gift certificate) and was told the ad was correct. I said ‘so, I’m going to drive off with a new car without paying a penny?’ And he said, ‘you just have to pay the DMV fee.’ After I get there, I’m told it was a misprint. I wasted 3 hours! I guess it’s the old ‘Bait and Switch’ routine. This is a reprehensible way to treat a potential customer or anyone else for that matter!!
I went on line to report Bayridge Toyota to BBB first thing that came up is that Bayridge Toyota is not BBB accredited, then the next thing I noticed was that there were 106 complaints about them and of the 106 complaints 57 of them received No Responses from Bayridge Toyota, so my question to Toyota HQ is this if they get such bad reviews and so many complaints and it seems as if everyone is essentially saying the same thing about them, then why is Bayridge Toyota still allowed to sell Toyota cars and why has not their license to sell Toyota cars been revolked
Bay Ridge Toyota has very dishonest practices, they paint all their used cars and do a very bad Job of it, after I bought a car from them, I returned to trade the car because they had 3 of the same type of tires in the car and one of another, and the threading was different, when my tires were rotated the mismatched tired almoscameaccident on the Parkway, tapologized and denied doing any paint job on the car, matter of fact they said that the bubbling of the psi.t was caused due to me putting some type of chemical on the car and claimed there was no history of the car being painted, they even $what I paid for the car I paid $150for a Corolla and they said they gave me $12000 for the car but when I saw the written appraisal they only gave Mr $9660 for the car and marked the bumper their shoddy work as reason for the appraisal, I asked to speak to the owner John G they lied and said he was on vacation, one manager Mike hung up the phone on me and another manager Mr Chan lied and said my car was never painted and that there is no history of the car being painted when I told them that my front and rear bumper was painted and on what date after calling Toyota HQ they tried to clam to offer me what my car is worth, for 2 days they gave me the run around I went there in person and got no where, made.more than 6 phone calls and everyone lied and defended the company, no one stepped up and owned up to or apologized for anything, do not ever buy a car from this dealerdhip, this is robbery at its worse . These people have no morals and do not care about anything or anyone except making money and once they have your money they do nog care, they do not stand by anything, this car was on the Showroom floor for a month or so an initially they gave me 11 months inspection after they charged me for a years worth, these people are not to be trusted and should be closed down , they accept responsibility for absoluteky nothing, matter of fact all they care about is making money on the trade in and in order for them to do that they have to give me ad little as possible for my car while accepting no responsibility, matter of fact they even told me as long as the tires are the same size it does not matter that they are different brands and different threads
Please be aware about Toyota warranties in general and Bayridge Toyota attitude and service in particular.
My check engine light on my 2001 Toyota Camry turned on.
It was very difficult to get a timely appointment.
When I finally did get an appointment I was hassled for 30-40 minutes signing paper after paper.
They then tried forcing me to sign that I will pay a minimum of $200 just for looking at the check engine light if it is not a manufacturer defect.
I felt that I was going to walk out with a bill no matter what.
After dealing directly with the owner I can say that they are arrogant unfriendly and unhelpful.
Dear fellow Toyota owner please take your business elsewhere. In this century customers should not have to deal with attitude.
PS I took it to my local mechanic and in one second he pulled out some bird feathers from a sensor. The car is back to normal and I was not ripped off.
I called this dealership 3/1/2012 about a Certified 2008 Sienna Limited with 19k miles. I spoke with a few people before finally talking with the actual salesman, Ray Simeone. Ray was very nice and very helpful. Molly seemed to be the 1st person you talk with about pre-owned before starting the process with a salesman. Ray and I had numerous phone conversations, text messages and emails about the condition of the van and the sales terms as I live 500 miles away from the dealership. I also had a conversation and email with Carl Feoli (Pre-owned Sales Manager) about the car requesting something in writing regarding our negotiated terms. I ended up agreeing to paying full price plus half the cost to repaint some serious gouges in the paint on the front bumper. The car was supposed to go to the paint shop the weekend of 3/10 but was delayed due to a damaged parking sensor and non-working 3 row power seat. Then the van was to go to the paint shop the weekend of 3/17 but there was supposedly a sudden death in Carl’s family and he was out till 3/19 or 3/20.
The process seemed to be going slower than I though was natural so on Monday 3/12 I asked Ray if Carl was having 2nd thoughts about selling the Van. Ray said “no, but I’ll ask him”. I let it rest Monday 3/19 and then texted Ray this morning, 3/20, only to be told that the van had been sold and was delivered yesterday.
Ya know, the reviews for this dealership were quite mixed but I thought I’d take a chance. Some were good and I’d hoped that I’d be one of them. I have the very distinct feeling that the majority of the good reviews were written by people from the dealership.
If I were not a fairly loyal Toyota customer with prior Toyota ownership and dealership experience, this would keep me from EVER buying a Toyota product EVER. Bay Ridge Toyota is a blemish of the Toyota name and should have their dealership revoked.
This dealership is unprofessional!! I left a down payment on a car, decided I did not want the car any more asked fir my money back when the manager told me that it would take 30 days for a refund when it took them less than 3 days to debit my account I called back 30 days later and the same manager told me that my paper work was LOST and that my account would be credited by the end of the week, I still have not received my money and this has been going on since Aug 13th and today is Sept 24th.
We leased a new car. Right after we got the car we realized that this one was used as demonstration: customers were allowed to try it before buying. The car had a big scratch on front bumper and around 200 miles on odo. There were newspapers and not related to the car items in. We came to resolve this situation and talk to the manager. I do not shake hands because of different reasons. After I didn’t shake hand to the manager (his name is Adam Lika), he got upset and even increased his voice telling that he doesn’t have time for us. Is it coercion for physical contact? I hope, no…
We wanted a new car instead of “demonstration” one or, if it’s not possible, get satisfactory reimbursement: increased mileage or similar things as well as normal conversation. Nothing was done and we have a very bad feeling after visiting this branch and talking to the manager.
Everyone at this dealership gave me the run around. Of course they were sweet and accommodating to get me in the door- but told me I was wasting their time by wanting to test drive more than 1 car. When we started negotiations on one car in particular, they flat out lied to me about various aspects of the financing and when I questioned why they didn’t certify this 2008 car with 3,900 miles, they went into a whole thing about how he was personally offended and I shouldn’t do business with someone I don’t trust, and I can decide to do business with them and trust them, or not, and go somewhere else. Of course I had already wasted 4 hours of my time (the do a good job of making you wait a half and hour, here and there) and knew that plenty of other dealerships have slimy salesmen.
When I pushed about the certification they gave some BS about the certification only being important so that you can get the low APR that Toyota is offering on certain certified models. I said, “I don’t get the connection between APR and certification, do you mind explaining.” They blabbed incoherently and then changed the subject, proceeding to try and get me to buy a warranty.
Lots of places are difficult, but their tactics here are particularly slimy and obnoxious. I would avoid their BS if possible.
I’ve been around a few years and I know a scam when I see one. The kid trying to sell me everything under the sun was taught to treat a customer that way, it’s probably not his fault. When I asked to see the manager they told me to see another kid, his name was Junior. He was rude to me so I asked to see his boss and I was told he doesn’t come in until 11:00 am! This is a place to avoid. They should be ashamed of themselves the way they conduct business. I will never ever return. Just disgusting that this is going on in these current economic times.
never, ever buy anything from this dealership. the saleperson always pressure you about buying their car. if when when you buy a car from them, they add so many taxes and fee that it cost way more that car is worth.
dont buy anything from this dealer…!!!!
Let me tell you about the bayridge toyota dealership, and their bad, very bad, sales person. As i walked in, i was introduced to this sales person from whom he was supposed inform me about the used cars they have. Through the middle of the conversation, he became defensive about his knowledge of cars, and that I don’t know what i’m talking about, and he is the know it all guy. His bad manners earned him nothing, i didn’t bother to buy from this dealer because of him. At the last seconds of the talk, by seeing that he is ill mannered, agressive, and arrogant, i decided to leave. And he was after all, not the least of what i would expect from a car sales person. At that point, he said something to me, a statement while i was walking out. He said, “you don’t know what you’re talking about”. Was that the conversation? To see who knows more about cars? What was i talking about? I was telling him of my previous experiences with other cars, and that’s how he replied to me, with a foul mouth. A blunt and weird person he is. Obviously, he thinks he knows it all, except, he doesn’t know the basics of; “MANNERS”. He needs to go back to the first grade and learn “manners a long with english”, because i think he never got it straight there. Before he becomes a “car sales man”, he should master the skill that was never taught to him.
Avoid him. He’s the awkward looking chinese sales guy there, in the used car lot.
Thats him , a freightended sales person with no inclinations to sale, rather to argue bluntly with his potential customers. Go home little boy.
A scam dealership to stay away form. They post a “price” on the internet which is not really a price – it is the remaining balance after you put down some money (typically they would ask for an amount of $2,995). So add $2,995 to what they call the “price” to arrive at the real number (and then only the real number if you agree to finance).
“The Bay Ridge Toyota online dealership is simply amazing. I found a huge stock of 2008 Toyota Highlander models along with their details within seconds. When I reached the store in person, I was overwhelmed to see their expansive inventory of Toyota vehicles. The salesman was thoroughly professional and I had a great time test driving different Highlander cars. I decided on the 2008 Highlander Hybrid which is an excellent buy.”
They must have paid you to write this review or you know them because these people are rude obnoxious, liars, cheats they do not check out the cars properly, certified pre owned means to them cleaning the vehicle and painting the bumper, anything else is extra and they will put the car in the showroom and say certified pre owned and make sure you pay for a warranty because you will need it, the only thing left for these people to do was to throw me out if the dealerdhip the fact that they painted the rear and front bumpes and said that they were never painted by them and there is no record of it so O poured chemical on it
