I have a 2004 Pontiac GTO. I was hit, someone swiped the entire left hand side of the car from bumper to bumper. Needless to say an accident is never fun, and taking my car to a body shop was not how I wanted to spend my morning. I was greeted by John shortly after arriving at Allanson Auto Body, a division of Libertyville Lincoln Mercury. John was very courtious, and very helpful. He was able to answer all of my questions, and really put me at ease. After he finished the repair to my car (which was ahead of schedule), he called me so I could look at it. This car looked better than new. The silver paint was matched perfectly. The door, fender, hood, and bumpers all looked immaculate. John and his team did a very good job repairing my vehicle. They really went above and beyond, and I can not thank them enough.
A division of this dealership is Allanson Auto body located in Mundelein. Allanson states on their web site that they are a division of Libertyville Lincoln Mercury. They also state on their web site they have a lifetime warranty on all repairs. This is a false statement. I had over $3,000 worth of repairs on my car in 2003. In 2007 the rear fender they installed started to rust from the inside out. I went back to Allanson and they said they made repairs to correct the problem. Now 2010 the rust is coming through again in the same spot. The bondo they applied is falling off. There is no rust anywhere on the car except where they were supposed to replace the rear quarter panel. Allanson now states they will not honor the lifetime warranty for rust. I contacted Farmers insurance adjusters. They stated that Allanson was paid to replace the rear quarter panel and they were paid to apply a rust inhibitor. Farmers said that if this was done properly the car would not rust. Well the car rusted only where Allanson did the work so I guess that means the work was not done properly. This body shop should not be in Business. They do sub standard work and they do not stand by their work even when you have a lifetime warranty in writing. I cannot figure out why a dealership like Libertyville Lincoln Mercury would have a division that does shoddy work that reflects on this dealership. I know I would not Buy or bring my car into this dealership based on how bad this division of them does their work. If they allow one division to falsely state lifetime warranty on all repairs and they do not force them to honor the lifetime warranty I can only imagine what the other divisions are doing. Beware before you use this dealership or any of its divisions.
