Waste of my time. I have a Saleen mustang listed on Craigslist. They called me saying they wanted it for a customer. I told them they’d lowballed me on it before (when I took it to them) and that they weren’t even close. They tell me to bring it in anyway and give them another shot. I take the afternoon off work and put miles on my very low mileage collector car only to get there and be lowballed even worse. They offered me $11,000 less than my listing price on Craigslist. Don’t even waste your time trying with these con artists. Learn from my mistakes and avoid at all costs.
After having my vehicle for 3 days, I had to call (twice) to check out the status. Engine fault code indicates evap system trouble. Not sure, but they think it’s the gas cap. Just bought the vehicle and found out the emergency brake is missing parts and is not even hooked up! I asked if it still had the factory brakes and got silence. Rear air locking differential (factory) not working. Told air line needed replaced. However, pneumatic pump is not working, so it might be that. I may do better repairing myself!
I purchased a used vehicle and should have been more thorough. Although it has a 3 month ‘drivetrain’ warranty, my salesperson was telling me none of my problems would be covered before I even brought the vehicle in. First problem I missed. The e-brake is not even hooked up! Wow, and on a manual transmission four wheel drive. Second: engine fault code. This was hidden by the fact the battery was replaced minutes before my test drive, which resets the ECM. Third: Rear locking differential not actuating. I specifically asked if these had been checked out and was told yes, a mechanic verified operation. This was BEFORE I even came down for the test drive and it’s hard to try out locking diffs on pavement in the middle of the city on a test drive. They are balking on fixing ANY of these issues and not even apologetic. Yes, I bought it ‘AS-IS’, but I am trusting a major car dealership to be honest about the basics of the vehicle.
