I was going to purchase a vehicle from lancaster mitsubishi and trade in my current vehicle. The sales team seemed very shady and dishonest. They told me I was approved and that they would pay off my current vehicle loan. All seemed good. Finished all paperwork and handed over my keys and took home my new vehicle after paying for new insurance on it. Got home and all seemed well. Two days later I get a call from the salesman (george) who tells me I have some paperwork they forgot to have me sign that I would need to come fill out. So I headed on down to finish this paperwork they mentioned. Once I arrive, they pull me in an office room and ask for the keys to my new car and say they are going to make me a spare. Ten mintues later the sales manager( steve) returns and says that the bank decided not to fund the deal and that they were taking the vehicle back and returning mine. I thought this all was shady. So I contacted the bank myself and spoke with several people in charge who all assured me I was approved and that they have no idea why the dealer had said otherwise. I called the dealer back and they still insisted it was the banks fault. Later I found out that this wasnt the first time this has happened with these people. So overall I found this to be the most dishonest and unprofessional car dealership I have ever met in my life. I recommend anybody looking at a vehicle on their lot to just go elsewhere or find another dealer willing to work on getting the vehicle for you. Worst dealer in the area by far.
Very nasty people, high pressure and not caring, money is in their eyes.
I am having a nightmare like experience with Lancaster Mitsubishi’s Service Department. I was over 130 miles from my home when my vehicle broke down. My car lost power, the engine misfired and the check engine light began blinking on the dashboard. I was over 45 miles from the nearest Subaru certified repair facility, Lancaster Mitsubishi. I had the car towed there. The $3,600 dollar repair included all new pistons and rings, a valve job, reconditioning the radiator, replacing the timing belt, cam sprockets, water pump, thermostat and clutch.
10 days after picking up my vehicle from Lancaster Mitsubishi (a part of the Lancaster Automotive Group), I found the vehicle was leaking oil. My vehicle did not leak oil before the major repairs were performed.
Looking at the returned parts from the repair, I found fasteners that were removed with an air chisel. 😮 Special tooling (the type you expect the certified repair facility to have access to) is needed to remove these items. Use of an air chisel caused considerable collateral damage to additional parts on my engine. 🙁 I was then invoiced for these damaged parts.
Without going into great details regarding this nightmare, I can say that the Service Manager in nearly impossible to reach by telephone. I have left numerous messages with the staff. Staff members have verified that he did get these messages, but he has not once returned my phone calls. When I was successful at reaching him, he was confrontational and quickly dismissed my oil leak as not their responsibility. 😮
The car has been out of service for two weeks. My local dealership has had the car on two separate occasions attempting to correct the oil leak. Every time they work on the vehicle they find all sorts of problems caused by the previous repair work at Lancaster Mitsubishi. Items like broken or incorrect torque applied to fastener’s (too tight and to loose), machined surfaces where the manufacture specified the use of sealant and none was used. 🙁 The additional repair charges are quickly adding up to extra thousands of dollars.
With the great distance between my location and Lancaster Mitsubishi dealership, the Service Manager really has me over the barrel. Not to mention why would I want to let Lancaster Mitsubishi perform any further work on my vehicle? They have proven (to me) their service technicians are not properly trained nor do they have access the proper tools to perform maintenance on Subaru vehicles and they are not the least bit concerned with my customer satisfaction or fixing a problem they created. 🙁
