If you are considering buying a car and want the best one on one service please go to Joyce Ford in Chicago and ask for Pete. He is like a doctor the way he takes care of you and treats you all throughout the sale.
They had to trade to get the exact car I wanted(which I was afraid of) but it got there and now I’m driving it without any problems.
The whole staff is friendly and very helpful. There is not much bad to say except for the time it took to get my car was a couple of days longer than I expected.
I will return again for my next car in about five years. Hopefully Pete is still there.
BUYER BEWARE
I purchased a hybrid Ford Escape at Joyce Ford. They get one star for the fact that they stock hybrids. The sales staff is knowledgable neither about the cars nor the financing.
I was urged to take an auto loan with Chase Bank, and told that I would receive a $1000 gift card from Chase as a special incentive for hybrid buyers. Needless to say, over a year and many telephone calls later, I still have never received the $1000. When I called Chase they said that no such program existed, and that the dealer, Maureen Joyce was a LIAR who would say anything to sell cars – the Chase representative’s words, not mine.
A little research revealed that there was actually a state of Illinois program that gave $1000 incentives to banks that financed hybrid auto loans. This program ended on May 31st, 2008, the same day I bought my car. The dealership staff including Maureen Joyce, were apparently unaware of the details or the deadline of the program, but since I bought the car within the deadline I should have received the $1000 from Chase. Every time I talk to Maureen Joyce she says she will take care of this, and then nothing, nothing, nothing.
So, those of you being sold on rebates, incentives and special deals, beware. THIS DEALER IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. I wouldn’t believe anything they have to tell you about the cars either.
I’ve had no problems with the Ford Escape Hybrid, except the fact that it does not achieve the mileage that Ford claims – it gets about 30 miles per gallon. Also they only stock the hybrids fully loaded, so you will pay through the nose unless you wait 9 months to have a basic vehicle ordered from the factory.
