Just a heads up before doing business with Glendora Chevrolet…I don’t recommend them.
I just wanted to post my experience at Glendora Chevrolet so that everyone knows how I was treated as a customer. Networking and sharing good information with others is such a powerful and amazing thing. Please read…
I recently purchased a used truck from Glendora Chevrolet and we purchased the truck at approximately 11:00pm on 9/30. The salesman “Chris” and the sales manager “Mark” were very nice to us and at first, I felt very comfortable with them both. At this point, they had their sheep’s clothing on. Chris & Mark told us that he realized that we were purchasing the car at night time and the lighting wasn’t great but if we had any issues “with absolutely anything” regarding the car, he would take care of it.
Well, of course the next day after purchasing the car, we found minor defects with the car. Please keep in mind; we bought a 27K used car…this is a lot of money! I called and called and was promised a call back and nobody ever got back to me. After 7 business days, I called upset and finally personally spoke with both Chris and Mark. I told them about the problems which by now they were already aware. They both personally promised to get back to me AGAIN. Almost 2 weeks later, Chris the salesman calls me back and starts telling me how much it will cost ME to get the molding repainted…I stopped him and went off on him. “Why are you calling me with this sh#@? “ When you sold me the car, you told me you would take care of “absolutely anything” we didn’t see due to it being evening and the poor lighting”. What Chris did next made my blood boil…Chris simply laughed at me. WOW! I could go on and on about the next 5-10 interactions with Glendora Chevrolet, but I won’t bore you…Here is a break down of the problems presented to Glendora Chevrolet and how they responded.
PROBLEM: 2 chips in the paint on the door – GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: Refused to fix this and handed me touch up paint. I have no clue on how to use touch up paint! They said it was too costly and they would have to strip the door down in order to fix these deep chips.
PROBLEM: Faint flaking paint on all four door moldings due to sun damage –
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: GC fixed this after I spoke with one of their lying managers “Mark” (there are two Marks and both are not to be trusted). Long story short, I had to yell at Mark and threaten to let everyone know how I have been treated after purchasing a 27K car from them. This was when he told me “I should have gotten the promises they made in writing” and then said “After all, you did purchase a used car”. After feeling my blood pressure rise, I simply told him that I am not going to get stressed out about a $150 dollar repair…I will get it fixed myself however, I would just tell everyone I knew about the service I have received. We hung up on bad terms…about 5 minutes later, he called back and said “ I am not comfortable with the way we left things…I will take care of the repair as promised”.
I keep asking myself, why did I have to go through all of this for a $150 repair that they promised to take care of.
PROBLEM: Brakes squeaking very loudly. *At this point, we had only had the car for 3 days.
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: Oh, well our brake inspection is $49.99.
Now, my husband brought the car in this time and just walked away. I had to call and speak to the service manager and then my husband had to bring the car all the way back. They say they fixed the problem but my brakes are still squeaking…not as bad as before, but they still squeak.
PROBLEM: Foam seating coming up when you pull up on the seat…not attached to the metal frame.
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: Danny @ Glendora Chevrolet didn’t know what was wrong and acted oblivious…I had to have my own mechanic fix it. My mechanic said he didn’t understand why they would sell me the car without attaching the foam seating correctly. I would have never known about this problem if I hadn’t accidentally dropped my credit card between the seat and in the process of trying to retrieve it, the entire seat almost came off the frame. Thank the Lord for my awesome mechanic…he fixed this no problem with no charge.
PROBLEM: Panels on back of driver and passenger captain chairs separating from the upholstery –
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: I spoke with Ryan Wines who is supposedly the head honcho in charge of all this stuff. I have spoken with Ryan a few times and he is definitely trying to play nice cop in this situation but after his head mechanic told him that the entire seat had to replaced, he is giving me the run around just like the salesman that work underneath him. Now he says that he has to get approval and can’t write off on the repair…it is too expensive. He promised to call me back and I then asked him to email me. I know he will never contact me and I am tired of trying to get Glendora Chevrolet to keep their promises. I am a mother of four young children; I work full time and run a household of 6 people. I have better things to do.
PROBLEM: I purchased the car in September, It’s now January and still have no registration:
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: We failed to notice that your car is due for a smog check. Can you please bring your car in so that we can smog it for you? You have to bring it in on a weekday, weekends won’t work…we have a small crew here on Saturdays so I can’t promise to get this done on the weekend.
PROBLEM: Finally got the registration but there are no licence plates with the registration and no plates were ever on the car.
GLENDORA CHEVROLET’S RESPONSE: Sorry, we have had a lot of problems with the department that handled this type of thing. You will have to either go to AAA or the DMV and request the plates on your own. The car is no longer our responsibility. But don’t worry; it shouldn’t cost you any money.
In writing this review, please know that I realize I definitely made a few mistakes and I admit them freely;
I shouldn’t have bought a car in the evening…I should have waited until the day time.
I shouldn’t have trusted Glendora Chevrolet and should have gotten all the promises they made in writing…just as they sarcastically told me I should have.
However, we all work hard for our money and we should be able to trust the car dealership that we do business with. The bottom line for me is that sales people shouldn’t promise things that they can’t deliver on. Glendora Chevrolet employs liars and that is the simple truth.
This is my first time having these types of problems with a major brand dealership…this isn’t one of those little car lots on the corner, this is supposed to be a quality dealership but it isn’t. A quality dealership would have gladly paid for my small repairs as promised. Maybe Glendora Chevrolet is having financial problems so now they have to resort to telling customers lies to get their business. THANK GOD I DIDN’T HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM…WHAT TREATMENT WOULD I HAVE RECEIVED THEN???
PLEASE BEWARE of this dealership…I truly don’t want anyone else to go through the disappointment that I have.
