Was told extended warranty covered maintenance…now 2 find out it covers in case the car has mechanical problems but not maint…usually auto dealers cover till 35k but not toyota only till 25k. So now I have 2 pay $200 to hav car serviced at germain or lose the warranty that I paid way 2 much for…since they don’t want to deal w me I’ve been waiting on someone 2 talk with me for over half an hour…would not buy from here again unless every detail was written. Antenna broke off under 35k but they r stating that it not covered under bumper 2 bumper warr. Last saw it b4 last visit here.
Sent me home with the vehicle and a day later still don’t know if the financing went through. Slow to return my phone calls.
purchased 2010 toyota corolla on 1/14/10. was not offered 0.9% financing that was available. was assured by salesman that the car had the (cvt) transmission, which it does not. was told i could use the free oil change coupons at any toyota dealer, which is another lie. can only be used at germain toyota in naples, i live in new york. took almost a month to get my registration in the mail. spoke to the sales manager on 2/22/10 and was told he doesn’t believe the salesman, raymond told me these things.
They STOLE my wifes trade in by not taking it off the price of the car she bought.
Never deducted the trade in value on the sales receipt and MY WIFE MISSED IT
when she signed she paperwork.
Germain Toyota has everything to do with Toyota brand! This dealer has an entire collection of new and pre-owned Toyota vehicles and great finance plans. The sales person helping me select a car was great. The whole process was easy and a great experience to have. Thanks Germain Toyota.
I purchased Toyota Camry from the Germain Toyota dealer last week for my 24-year-old son Jim who works as a business executive with a finance firm here. It matches his sporty and trendy attitude. Jim is happy with it and so am I. Germain Toyota people are good folks and dealt with us well. They guided us well to choose the best finance plan too!
This Camry is the second vehicle we have bought from Germain Toyota in the past two years and it’s just right. It has a strong build, powerful engine, good mileage, and quality safety features.
First let me say that after owning several of them, I love Toyotas. Up until recently, I loved Toyota Dealers too. No more.
I just purchased a 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE to replace a leased Prius from Germain Toyota in Naples FL. Great car, great salesman, slimy Sales and Finance Managers. It was, in my seven decades of experience, the most underhanded transaction I have ever experienced. Talk about disappointed!
In the negotiations for price we arrived at an understanding amenable to both parties. The MSRP (without the “market adjustment”) less the payoff of my lease, and an additional approximately $1,000 reduction. Nobody denies that was our agreement. As the Finance Manager was doing the paperwork I kept asking where the lease payoff was, and was told several times to not worry because he was going to take care of it.
At around 10 pm after being there for 6+ hours he produced the paperwork still assuring me that the lease payoff was taken care of.
When we got home we realized that he took care of it by adding it into our loan. We hurried back in the morning to point out the error and he reiterated that the dealership had done as promised. When we pointed out that there it was in our loan he said that I was not capable of understanding financial matters and it was not where it was. After discussion he brought in the Sales Manager who repeated that it was beyond my capability to understand.
When I persisted at my point he admitted that I was right but nothing could be done to correct the error. They had me like it or not.
Is this really the customer experience that Toyota endorses? Is the damage to Toyota’s reputation really worth $2500? Do you really need sales so badly that you have to resort to a shell game to beat customers up? It seems prudent to me now to recommend to potential Toyota customers that they bring a lawyer and CPA perhaps even a detective with them when dealing gets this shabby.
With the time, money and effort that Toyota invests in R&D, design, manufacturing and logistics to produce perfect cars it is almost criminal to see it all crash and burn due to incompetent and unethical dealer management personnel when it meets your customers.
