Buying a used car at this dealership has been a very negative experience and expensive lesson. Arbitration is pending, so prudence dictates I write no further details at the present time.
Recently our car, a 2007 Suzuki XL7 with about 66,000 miles on it began overheating. Therefore, we returned to the dealership (Expo Suzuki) where we purchased it in an attempt to have the problem diagnosed and fixed because we thought it was still under warranty. When we purchased the vehicle at the end of 2007, the salesman stated that our vehicle is covered under a 100,000 mile, 7 year warranty, but he failed to mention that it only covered the drive train and engine. When we arrive at the service department, this was a Monday around 2:30 PM, the service department is closed. The co-owner came out and asked if he could help us and we stated our problem. He took the vehicle back and had someone look at it and returned stating it was going to be a fan motor that was burned out along with a wiring harness and that it was not a warranty fix we would have to pay out of pocket. He further stated it would be around 2 to 3 hundred dollars to fix, but he would have a service man look at it the next day to be certain. So a day later, we didn’t receive a phone call, and around 4 pm, we called and we’re told, “Hi, we were waiting to hear from you.” They stated it would be around $1,100 to repair the burned out fan motor kit and replace a wiring harness along with 4 hours of labor. After receiving a second opinion from West RV and Automotive in Livingston, TX, the wiring harness ($305 according to Expo Suzuki) was replaced in 15 minutes (wiring harness actually cost about $125) and the fan motor ($350 kit according to Expo Suzuki) worked just fine and was not burned out. In the end after getting the harness replaced, an oil change, and tires rotated through West RV and Automotive in Livingston, TX it cost us a total of $215 out the door. Just shows you how dirty this dealership, Expo Suzuki, treats its customers in a time of need! I will never purchase a car from them again and will never recommend this dealership to anyone.
