My wife’s Acura Coupe was totaled by baseball-size hail during last week’s violent storms. She wanted another coupe and the Genesis Coupe was top-rated. I researched dealerships – most people loved Eckert and had quite negative reviews of most other DFW Hyundai dealerships. I called Eckert and spoke to John Wester on Saturday morning; he was busy with another customer and told me that he’d call back in 10 minutes. Sure enough, he called back as promised, we discussed what I was looking for, but they didn’t have that exact model in stock. So, I thought that was it with Eckert, but John called back a few minutes later and told me that they had a higher end model that had been on the lot for a while and their manager agreed to sell it to me for $100 over invoice. When we arrived at the dealership, we took the car for a test drive and told John that we’d take it. No bait-and-switch or excuses about confusion over the quoted price. John wrote it up, we signed the paperwork and were out the door. No high pressure from the finance department – they explained the different add-ons and obviously would have liked to sell them to us, but understood when we said no to most. Got emails today from Mark Eckert and John thanking us for the business. All in all, a very satisfying car buying experience for someone who loathes the typical game-playing and time-wasting tactics.
TALK TO Joe Becker. Use the internet to review the dealership and the sales personnel. If you know what you want and what you are willing to pay, you are in charge. That said, I had my most enjoyable car-buying experience with Joe at Eckert. He knows the product line and lets the car speak for itself. No high pressure to sell you something just to get your money. They had a vehicle very like what I configured online and we agreed on a price. Simple as that. In and out in less than three hours (including prep time). I saw all the figures and paperwork and they answered all my questions in an upfront and honest manner. No hidden fees or last-minute add-on charges. I would drive 400 miles to deal with Joe and Eckert again. They even forwarded some wheel accessories after leaving the dealership. Joe followed up with phone calls and made me feel like they appreciated my business – both before and after the sale. For what it’s worth, I bought a 2012 Sonata Limited 2.4L automatic. My previous vehicle was a Honda Accord. I just couldn’t turn down more features for less money and a 5-yr/60000 mile warranty. Best of luck.
Thanks to James e. and James the finance manager. They put me in a really nice car with low monthly payments. My next car will come from Eckert Hyundai!!!!
After dealing with another dealership in Grapevine(different manufacturer)I was gun shy on the whole experience of buying a car:confused:. So I eased into it by contacting Eckert Hyundai through email. I received a quick response by one of the owners(Mark)who seemed eager to help me even through emails. I was very specific on what I wanted and for how much. He was able to find the exact car I was looking for and even the right color. I talked back and forth between Mark and Jeff throughout the week. Still a little scared to interact with another salesman in person. I showed up Friday afternoon to just take a look at the car and ended driving out with it that night. Jeff was not pushy at all and was very relaxed. They let me lead the way while they asked a few questions here and there. They already knew the amount that I wanted to finance and went over and beyond to make it happen. The finance department worked diligently with Hyundai finance to get me the special rate even with a so-so credit score. The entire process was quick and simple. They gave me exactly what I wanted on my trade in and the price they quoted online for the new vehicle was still the same. We went through all the fees included in the agreement and I suprised to see how minimal their fees were. Others were charging ridiculous amounts for basic things like doc prep. Jeff and Melissa explained every detail of the buying process. I just wanted to jump over the table and give them a huge hug. I had lost faith in the dealership world until I met the great people at Eckerts. I will recommend them to everyone I meet. I look forward to purchasing many more cars from them.
Thanks a bunch!:D
We would highly recommend Eckert Hyundai of Denton. They took wonderful care of us. We hate buying a new car – we’ve had too many other bad experiences with other dealerships. This was one of only two car buying experiences that we actually enjoyed and felt peaceful about once driving off the dealership lot.
John Wester, our sales person, was very personable, helpful and honest. He was patient with us and communicated very well via phone calls & email (answering questions we had). He wasn’t one of those high-pressure sales people.
We appreciate the way Eckert gives you their bottom-line pricing. Like the prior poster, we had also done our research beforehand and their pricing was right in line with what we were hoping for.
During our buying/test driving experience, we also came in contact with Mike Barham (sales manager), Doug Peyton (fleet manager) & James Colman (financing). They were all so helpful & friendly (as were other staff members).
We’ve never owned a Hyundai before, but so far we’re really enjoying our new Veracruz. Thanks Eckert!! 😀
We recently purchased a Santa Fe Limited from Eckert Hyundai and it was a great experience. Our sales person, Douglas Peyton, was a pleasure to work with as was Mike Barham and their finance person Rick Hammonds. It is the first and only time we can say we truly enjoyed buying a car. They displayed a friendly, no pressure, no hassle attitude when we were looking. When we decided to buy there wasn’t the usual price haggling to deal with – they gave us their bottom line and it was inline with our research and amount we were willing to pay. That approach was greatly appreciated since the haggling part is always the most distasteful piece of buying a car. They all had a “what can we do to help you as our customer be happy” attitude, this made our car buying experince a pleasure.
We have owned our car for a few days now and today Doug called just to see if all was going well with the car and did we have any questions. What a surprise; the other times I have purchased a car once the dealers had my money it was thanks and so long. Doug has really gone the extra mile to make sure we are a satisfied customer.
I would highly recommend Douglas Peyton as a sales person and the personnel at Eckert Hyundai again.
Spent $700+ to get the gas tank fixed, and conveniently when the car was picked up it started dying randomly, which it had never done before. After bringing it back, they said they werent the reason and we apparently put bad gas in it coencidentaly literaly less than a mile from the dealership. They didn’t acctually test the gas, for that would of cost us money. When I called to speak to Mark Eckert himself, he actually hung up the phone on me. Then when I went up there to talk to him, he “stepped out”. When explaining my frustration to the Service Center guy, another employee actually laughed at me, and they refused to help. If you buy a car or get it serviced anywhere, I strongly recommend it not be here
