This place has trashed me from the time I bought my 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe 3 months ago! They replaced a Catalytic Converter but the other one cause damage to the engine. They said it wasn’t covered by the warrantee because it wasn’t fixed during the warrantee period. Well, I reported the “check engine” light on a month and a half before they finally brought it in to check it- after the 3 month period. Then I brought it back every day for a week before the damage to the engine occurred. The Service Manager Steve told me it was the spark plugs and changed them, with a charge of $240. Same thing the next day, but this time it was “bad gas”. Next day same “check engine” light but I was accused of putting marbles in the cylinder. Goes on from there. I will add another review for the many other problems caused by this dealer tomorrow!
Second agonizing installment- Car City’s Steve, the Service Manager has blown me off, accused me of putting marbles in my engine and wouldn’t do the work he & I agreed on. He charged me $250 for installing spark plugs, $183 for replacing a pulley they denied was a problem from the time I bought the car! I didn’t have the cash, after doing work I never authorized so I signed a Promissory Note. When I drove off the problem remained- burned up power steering pump with a leak in the line that I got an $1,100 estimate from a shop down the street from me in Sandy. I went right back but they said they couldn’t hear anything and refused to fix it, blew me off. I hounded them until I convinced them to redo the work. They didn’t ever replace my power steering pump. I paid them last night, with a money order, so I wouldn’t have my identity stolen and wouldn’t face a lawsuit/judgement. Malo Hombres
This dealership is terrible. First off they never turned our loan app-app and 1,500.00 dollar down pay ment to the credit union Best Finaincal, (whom we “signed” papers for) then turn around and did In house finaning after getting the cash down. BS. Carlos is belittling the rest of the staff our ill educated and rude beyond words fit for public. The car we bought was advertised as CLEAN CLEAR TITLE BS… Far fron the title had been rebuilt and salvaged not once but twice I’M pissed. They still have yet to release the lean on the rebuilt title after TWO YEARS of makeing payments on VOID contract #(.8 percent interest is usury in UT. I Now have a car I have paid well over 10,000.00 for that has noe title sits in my driveway I cant drive it, plate it, use it it just collects dust. They FUCKED me. They are BULL SHIT. The BBB rates them at F. They NEED TO BE CLOSED DOWN! They pass cars for inspection that do not pass in shops. One family died because of faulty brake lines and drive shaft. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THESE “NO VISA” MO_FO’S” Head my warning Iam NOT the only person they have swindled. They also have been known to REPO cars even after payment are made on time, then profit on the tow fees. PISSED I am pissed. To top it off off they do not return ANY of my calls, mail ext. AND I AM CERTIAN THAT ANY GOOD THING WRITTEN ON HERE ABOUT THEM, IS BY THEM. SHADEY FUCKS.
39.8 percent interest. Pardon the typos.
The car is PAID for. YET WE CANT DRIVE IT BECAUSE WE HAVE NO TITLE.
I don’t know how things work in Utah but I’m sure the state agency that issues dealer licenses would like to know about a dealer selling salvage/rebuilt vehicles without proper disclosure. They would probably want to know why you haven’t received a title after it has been paid in full. Most states only allow a dealership a certain amount of time to provide a negotiable title free and clear before they’re in violation of the state law.
After going that route I’d also contact your state attorney general and file a complaint. Last but not least maybe get a lawyer and sue the hell out of them.
Good luck.
I went in a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning to check a Honda Accord I found online. I went back in Monday afternoon when they were open and drove home in my new Accord! Chris was awesome and really took the time to see exactly what I was looking for. He showed me all the options I could afford without being pushy or trying to pressure me into a sale. I love my new car and the service I received. Thanks Chris!
good and honest people seem like hard working people good deal on a nice toyota corolla great mechanics it was better last year when they have a service manager anyway thank for my car
After having some bad experiences with dealerships in the past, I took advice from a friend and tried Car City. So glad I did! A few weeks after buying my 2004 Honda Civic, the right blinker went out. I took it back in and Carlos had the in-house mechanic fix it right then and there free of charge. It’s refreshing to be treated with respect even after you’ve made your purchase. E.Jarvis
WORST CAR COMPANY IN UTAH!!!! DON’T BUY FROM CAR CITY OF UTAH 3165 So State Street in Salt Lake City. THEY ARE THE MOST DISHONEST CAR COMPANY AROUND>>>TOOK MY SENIOR CITIZEN FATHER FOR $9000+ ON A LEMON CAR THAT HAS ENGINE AND CHASIS PROBLEMS.
They lied about damage to the back of the truck until my sister found a 2″ gap behind the seat below the window then they admitted that an engine had smashed into the bed, which in turn smashed into the cab of the truck causing the 2″ gap. They promised new tires, new suspension, and then sued my senior citizen father when he didn’t want the piece of junk. This is the very next morning!
THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY LIARS THAT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SENIOR CITIZENS FOR THEIR OWN GAIN!
