Be ready for the old bait & switch .
Saw an AWD Equinox LX listed on their website for a great lease deal .Emailed them questioning availability , Manny Hernandez responded back “Yes It Was”
Called Manny to confirm before taking the 30 mile trip there , made an appointment , again confirming color , stock # , AWD , LT , $ down payment & monthly lease $ payment .
Got to the “STEELERSHIP” greeted at the door by salesman showed him email with stock # and lease deal , he goes back to find out about car only to come back and say that deal not available for that car !!
Will never step foot in there again and won’t recommend them to anyone Stay Away !
This is a service complaint. I brought my 2010 Traverse into the dealer in December 2013 for a check engine light. Car ran fine, however the light was on. After several days I had to call to find out what was wrong. I was told by Gregory that it was a timing chain and a head gasket leak. When I finally got my car back it seemed fine for a few days and then again the check engine light comes on. Obviously, it was not the above listed issue. Now again I have to bring the car to the dealer and again after several days I have to call to see what’s wrong with my car. Now I’m told it’s an emission problem. They claimed to have fixed the problem. Less than two weeks later the check engine light goes on. Once again I have to waste my time to bring it to the East Hills dealer. Again after several days of no calls or answers, I call to see what’s wrong with my car. I’m now told that the technician who originally worked on my car was let go and that the problem was with the work he did on my car (timing chain, seals etc.) I brought the car in on January 11,2014 and I still as of this writing January 24 ,2014 don’t have my car back or answers as to what they did to fix it. Every time I call and talk to the service guy Gregory he says I’ll call you back and never does. I was planning on going to East Hills Jeep to purchase a new Grand Cherokee with the intention of trading in my Traverse. I asked Gregory if east Hills Chevy and Jeep were owned by the people and he said yes. I asked since he had my car could he see if he could get a traded in value on the 2010 Traverse. He said he would look into it. Obviously I never heard from him. On January 22, 2014 I personally went to the dealer and spoke to Gregory who told me I’ll have my car tomorrow January 23, 2014 and that he’ll check on the appraisal of my car. I spoke with a technician named John who was working on my car. Really nice guy and honest. He told me straight out that the other technician screwed my car up and that he was working to get it fixed but had to walk away from it to take a break because of the intensity of the work he had to do on it. I then returned to ask Gregory how this damage done to my car was going to affect an appraisal by East Hills Jeep and he stated “they won’t know what was done to your car because every thing is in a GM data base and that Jeep can’t see it.” I said what about CAR FAX and all I got was a dead stare. I still have not heard from him,Shocking!!! It is apparent that the time wasted and the damage caused by East Hills Chevy to my 2010 Traverse has diminished it’s value and that’s why I’m getting no answers or calls. I am certainly second guessing purchasing a Jeep from East Hills Jeep, especially since the value of my trade in has been compromised. It doesn’t look good for me recommending any East Hills dealership.
Dear Mr. McNamara,
Thank you for speaking to me and Milan, Service Manager, today at our dealership. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and begin to rebuild your trust. We have absolutely learned more about how to improve our dealership through your feedback. We will strengthen our processes going forward to deliver a world-class experience.
I would appreciate it if you would circle back to me on Sunday after meeting with Ed at our East Hills Jeep showroom.
Thank you again for your consideration.

Follow-up to 1/24/2014 complaint.
Phil,
Thanks for meeting with me at the East Hills Chevy dealer. As you’re aware when I arrived at the dealer (after I had to call to see if my car was done)I found my car in the rear parking lot covered in snow and ice. This being Friday 1/24/2014 and it snowed 1/21/2014 it appears my car was done on 1/21/2014,however,nobody called me. Oh.. by the way, there were 15+ vehicles in the same lot, not one had snow or ice on it. Anyway after expressing my disappointment and disbelief, I was approached by a gentleman named Milan. He was pleasant, wouldn’t tell me who he was but that he will take care of deicing my car. I explained my displeasure to him and the whole scenario leading up to the damage to vehicle previously reported. I explained to him that prior to this mishap by East Hill Chevy that I had planned to purchase a Jeep from the East Hills Jeep dealer and that I now had concerns about my trade-in value on my Traverse. Milan informed me the East Hills Jeep is part of their group and that he would call over there for me and that I will be very happy with the outcome. Shortly after, I received a call from a an Ed Whiffen the General Manager of East Hills Jeep. He told me he had spoken with Milan and that I should see him when I come into the dealership. Well, on Sunday 1/26/2014 I when to East Hills Jeep. I asked for Ed Whiffen. He came out introduced himself and also introduced me to a sales representative named Fred. At this point Mr. Whiffen was gone. Fred was great. He had the Jeep we wanted and we were ready to do the deal. I requested a trade in value for my 2010 Traverse at which time they came back with a number of $11,500. Just a note Black Book lists my vehicle as between $14,445 – $18,035. Being that my Traverse is an LT2 with extras, one would expect the value to be somewhere from the middle to the top. Anyway, I brought this to the attention of Fred. Keep in mind Milan of East Hills Chevy stated that I would be very happy. Suddenly Mr. Whiffen appears, sits down and abruptly states “that based on what he knows about the service problems at the East Hills Chevy dealer the best he can do is $14,000 on the trade.” He then notices that I have a copy of TrueCar.com showing a value for the vehicle I’m looking to purchase. He takes that price and says that’s the best he can do, shows be some written numbers on a piece of paper, tells me about how he has 30 years in the business and leaves, never to be seen again. I hope this is not what Milan meant by making me happy. Anyway no deal was done. I left and went to Westbury Jeep. They out priced East Hills on a new Jeep and gave me $15,750 for my Traverse. Done deal. Picking up the new 2014 Jeep on Friday.
Dear Tom,
Our Chevy team did not deliver for you and for that I sincerely apologize.
I’m sorry we could not assist you any further than we did on Sunday at our sister store. We wish you all the best with your new vehicle.

Go some other place, trust me you be better at the end of the day. Customer service in this place is unreal and I was not the only one there feeling this way. Should invest some of the money to train employees or just hire better ones start with management.
Dear Kasztan,
I apologize for your experience at East Hills Chevrolet. I have spoken to the service director and the general manager about your visit.
Our technician should have rotated your tires during your visit, like you had requested. That was our fault and we should have been more diligent with the paperwork submitted by the service advisor.
My service manager relayed that you also wanted us to eliminate a squeak you’ve been hearing with your vehicle. I was told the vehicle was purchased recently from another dealer and that it had 30K miles on it. I was informed that we took your vehicle on two test drives to identify the problem. My records indicate that you accompanied the technician on at least one of the test drives to properly identify the source. It was unfortunate that this issue was not covered by your vehicle’s warranty and that there was a charge for diagnosis. I was told that this charge led to your frustration and that is why we waived the charge to diagnose the source of the squeak. The intent of our service manager referring you back to your selling dealer was not to minimize your troubles, but to provide an avenue whereby you could get the issue eliminated with no out of pocket expense. We sincerely apologize if you felt any other way.
We strive for a world class experience at East Hills Chevrolet. We wish you the best with your vehicle.

Found a Used Honda CR-Z on the website yesterday, emailed them checking availability, they responded in an okay timely fashion…… While on the website it said this car my have specials going on, when emailing the salesperson I asked him about any specials going on for the vehicle…… His response was very rude saying that 15,700 wasn’t good enough ….. As any good car buyer would you always try to get your self the best deal, but when even inquiring about specials I was given rude responses…… I will make sure that none of my car friends buy anything from this dealership if that Is how customers getting ready to make a big purchase are gonna be treated……. I also highly doubt that anyone will care about the matter, because to me that seems how they are over there, but maybe I am wrong……. NOT LIKELY!!!!
Dear Justin Pirelli,
I’m sorry about your experience at East Hills Chevrolet. I have spoken to Alex Steshenko and his manager about your review. As you know, Alex is Russian and he has a strong Russian accent. I have noticed cultural differences when speaking to him as he is very direct in his responses. To Alex, he doesn’t feel he insulted you but I believe your perception of Alex’s responses was in a derogatory way. This in no way forgives how you felt in dealing with him. I will continue to work with him and the managers to improve customer interactions.

Dear Phil,
So that you know, I am pure Italian. My pride is my biggest strength, and easily hurt. As my name suggest I have connections to a major tire manufacturer. I intend to file a major complaint against your dealership to General Motors. I will also intend to let them about the lack of willingness to help a customer who was ready to buy a car with cash paid in full. You lost a person who would have been a life long customer, and a frequent customer with the Chevy Silverado LTZ and the Chevy Camaro SS/ZL1…… Multiple of these vehicles would have been bought a year. That chance is gone, and as I said before, I will make sure that my car friends who purchase like I do stay far far far far away from your dealership.

Justin,
I don’t know where to go with this. We had a pre-owned Honda CRZ on which your salesperson, Alex, and you could not agree on price.
I’m sorry that you are so upset about this transaction. I wish you only the best.

Bait and switch operation as well as other negative comments from others!
Dear Roslynn Douglas,
I checked with our managers at our Roslyn and Douglaston stores and they don’t recognize your name — Roslynn Douglas.
I would like to be able to help you, but based on your name and the comments in your review I cannot determine any of the facts that might have led to you feeling that a “bait and switch” occurred, nor am I able to determine if there might have been any extenuating circumstances that might have necessitated our offering a different vehicle to you.
We’ve been in business since 1975 and we have a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. I am empowered by the owners to provide assistance, but I need some help from you before I can attempt to make things right.
Kindly contact me at your convenience.

I might as well write a book on this one.i brought my truck in for something’s ill keep it short and not put everything.told them there was a banging in the front end, they looked at it and said nothing was wrong,vi brough it back to my shop and found the steering rack was banging around, brought it back and told them and they fixed it.a mouth later it banging and leaking again.they changed my sunroof track and stripped and scratch screws grab handles seat belt covers sue visors and never connected the sunroof drain hoses and didnt put back the wind deflector. So I got water damage under my carpet, and I had to reinstall the wind deflector myself after they told me the sunroof is a different design and the deflector does not go back in, morons. There is more but I’m not gonna get into it I put a complaint into gm but it does not seem to help at all dealing with some moron named Patrick who is a district specialist, who knows maybe he is buddies with the owner Tim brodlieb who I wrote a letter to complaining about the service dept, but he didn’t seem to care, had his people in service call me couldn’t do it himself,so they keep promising they are going to do the write thing for me but after all the machnical work they did I don’t think I want them touching anything with a bolt. If u buy a car from these people I hope they screw u over I have no remorse for u at all . Update east hills Chevy now Ownes Paul conte Chevrolet of Freeport
A BUNCH OF LIARS !!!! dON’T BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. tHEY REALLY ” SUCK “

I was promised Paint Pen. I called and spoke to Gus many many times. I bought the car in begining of August now almost end of October and no Pen Paint. If you like to jerked around it is a perfect place to go.
Similar to the reviewer above, I had a terrible experience with the dealership (EAST HILL CHEVROLET OF ROSLYN IS HORRIBLE). Everything went really well until I signed the contract. After the contract was signed, they added on fees, made me wait multiple days to deliver the car and once the car was delivered it was damaged, needed to be painted and had 244 miles on it. In addition, they did not setup the Onstar account properly, they need me to come back to the dealership to update paperwork that they did not fill out correctly and also did not prep the car well at all. I have purchased many cars and this was a horrible experience. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!!!
Me and my husband purchased a pre- owned Chevy Suburban, our sales rep Perry seemed nice, answered our questions, didn’t seem pushy about buying right away so it seemed like we had found a good dealership that we could feel comfortable purchasing from. Well Perry was nice enough and we really didn’t haggle on the price, we pretty much paid what the internet listed price was. We went on perry’s word that the car was in good condition at a fair price. Well the finance Manager was a whole different story, we went in to seem him and he started misleading us from the moment we sat down. He told us that the bank would not finance us the car with no extended warranty, that if we chose to go without the warranty he would have to go to a Bank that would give us a higher interest rate which would end up costing us $4000.00 more as opposed to just paying $2900 for the extended warranty. We took him at his word and agreed to the warranty, when we got the contract to sign the warranty’s were costing us over $5000.00, when we wouldn’t sign he got all huffy and puffy,. I explained to him that I didnt understand all the extra charged which annoyed him even more, LIKE HOW DARE I QUESTION HIM, he ended up off the extra of $2000.00 Even threatened to make it difficult for us to finance a car with another dealership if we didn’t agree to at least the $2900 extended warranty. That should have been our que to run for the door, but we were exhausted from being there all day and just wanted to buy the car and go home. When we got home I started researching extended warranty’s and come to find that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TO GET THE FINANCING, ONE THING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER!!! AND IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO EVEN MAKE SUCH A CLAIM.So I now plan on cancelling the warranty, I am already anticipating a hard time from the Bully at the Finance Department, I will be contacting them along with GM’s warranty department, The attorney General’s office, The Better Business Bureau and The Department of Consumer Affairs. SO BUYERS BEWARE OF FINANCING YOUR CAR WITH THIS DEALERSHIP YOU WILL END UP SPENDING AT LEAST $3000.00 MORE THAN YOU NEED TO. I SAY STEER CLEAR OF THIS DEALERSHIP THEY ARE JUST LIARS AND CHEATS!
I can understand someones frustration with certain aspects of a dealership experience. But this particular occasion is kind of suspect. Dealers do not just react to people in nasty manners out of no where for no reason. Everyone has this concept that they need to leave a dealer getting everything they want there way to be happy. and if they dont they trash you. If all dealers did that for everybody they would not be in business. Customers such as this one always play the angel that got taken advantage of but what they dont tell you is that they probably made all sorts of crazy demands and in order to get there way they probably threatened to cancel the deal about 20 times if they dont get what they want. I can probably even accurately predict that they made a deal and the tried to renegotiate even more after the fact. Its ok for a customer to make a deal and then demand more the next day but if the dealer were to make a deal and ask the customer for more the next day they would get crucified. this is likely because they went home happy about buying a car and a friend or neighbor who knows absolutely nothing about the car business started running his mouth like a know it all because he’s miserable about his 15yr old piece of junk. Oh and i love when people say that dealers hide money and add fees. Of course they have fess, they are a retail business all businesses have fees. Especially when they are processing motor vehicle fee,s for the customer. The convenience alone for not having to do your own motor vehicles processing is worth more money but most dealers only charge what the DMV charges. The next time you wanna bash a dealer make sure its because they actually did something wrong not that they didnt give you your way. And did not react nasty to you but maybe appropriately to your excessive demands.Any one who reads this please take this home with you ” Take your time when buying a car and listen to what a salesman has to say, take your time negotiating so you are clear on all terms of the deal. Ask questions so things dont come as a surprise, nobody can tell you everything about anything unless you ask. And finally if you think your the only person who walked in and pointed to a car and said ” give me your best price or im leaving” your wrong. They hear it everyday and all your saying is that you feel that he should immediately offer to lose money to sell you car just because you walked in and pointed at a car. remember you are taking someones time who is making a living just like you do. Playing hardball without building any kind of business relationship is an insult to someones time. and further more. There is NOTHING a dealership can hide on a contract and there is no fine print. All you have to do is read….
When I bought my used car, the salesman told me there was no milege limit to the warranty. This was a lie! When I got the papers it had a 36,000. or 3yrs. So, I cancelled it. Well, this was in August and it is now Dec. and I am still waiting for my refund of 1,225. which I borrowed on my loan!! Thiefs!! earning interest off of my money. In investigating this I found out the dealership gets 1/2 of the money we pay for the warranty. I WANT MY MONEY BACK
Dear Donna,
I just discovered your review.
I would like to address your concerns about the warranty; however, I cannot determine your full name or which vehicle you purchased based on the username you provided.

Tim Brodlieb together with his henchmen Jaime Franklin & Service Mgr Leon are a bunch of liars and DIRTBAGS ! I leased a vehicle on May 07, 2010, A 2010 brand new Chevy Malibu and less than 4 days later it broke down on the LIE IN RUSH HOUR traffic and ” ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE is not allowed on the Long Island Expressway so it was a 3 HOUR wait for the Police to call a tow truck THAT I PAID FOR AT THE DEALERSHIP !!!
Than 2 days later, the JERK sevice mgr.Leon calls and says “the car is repaired come and pick it up ” Ten minutes out of the service dept THE NEW CAR BREAKS DOWN AGAIN !!!!!
DONT SHOP HERE, THIS DEALERSHIP TOGETHER WITH bRODLIEB’S OTHER IN DOUGLASTON ARE SOON GOING TO BE CLOSED !:)
MY WIFE & I LEASED A 2010 MALIBU FOR OUR 20 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND WITHIN 4 DAYS IT BROKE DOWN ON THE LIE IN HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOLD MY DAUGHTER THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED ON THAT ROADWAY SO SHE WAS TOLD TO CALL THE POLICE AND THREE HOURS LATER THE NEW CAR WAS UNDER TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP, THAT MY WIFE WAS FORCED TO PAY $183.00.THAT WAS MAY 11. ON MAY 13 THE SERVICE MGR.LEON CALLED TO SAY THE CAR WAS FIXED AND PICK IT UP. MY WIFE & DAUGHTER PICKED UP THE NEW CAR AND AGAIN IT BROKE DOWN 10 MINUTES OUT OF THE EAST HILLS SERVICE DEPT.ANOTHER THREE HOUR WAIT.NOW I CALLED THAT DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE WITH THE OWNER, TIM BRODLIEB TO COMPLAIN. HE AND THE SERVICE MGR,JAIME FRANKLIN & THE GM FACTORY REP.MR.NICHOLSON THAT THEY WOUL;D GIVE MY DAUGHTER ANOTHER SAFE CAR IN TEN DAYS OR THEY WOULD CANCEL THE LEASE. TEN DAYS NO , ZILCH, CONTACT FROM THIS DIRTBAG DEALERSHIP. NOW THEY ARE HOLD MY LICENSE PLATES ,NY EYG8259 AND THE LEASING BANK,US BANK, IS HARASSING US EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE NOTIFIED BY CERTIFIED MAIL AND NUMEROUS PHONECALLS THAT WE NO LONGER HAD THAT DEFECTIVE CAR. WE ONLY HAD IT 5 DAYS. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. DON’T SHOP FOR A CAR AT EAST HILLS CHEVROLET !
Fast and hassle-free – Robert was straight and honest
warm, friendly, HONEST , thats what i felt at EAST HILLS chevy, with my salesman gus quinones and his manager robert amendola. it took 4 hrs from hello to have fun with the car, bye now. A complete reversal to the 6 DAYS of lies and excuses i got at kristal auto mall (i only went there, an hr from my home, because i was lied to and misslead from the get go)
I originally posted a negative review on this dealership.Tim, the owner contacted me to make amends.
I posted a retraction, because Tim, was a gentleman, and really wanted to earn my business.
I wanted to give you an update, I purchased the Mustang yesterday evening.
The entire staff at East Hills, made me feel as if I just purchased a Ferrari.
They have earned me as a customer for life.
Do yourself a favor, buy American, and definitely give Tim, and Perry , my salesman a shot to earn your business. If it is not right, they will try to bend over backwards to make it right, of course within reason.
I have read some negative reviews, as any business will have.
My question, is this, did you let management know of your displeasure?
Secondly, did you try to let them work on a solution?
Based, on my experience with this dealership, I went from walking out, never to come back, to becoming a life customer. Go figure that, that;s priceless.
Yes, they have some great cars. Give them a try.
Thanks Tim, Perry, John, Bob, Sal
If a Mustang honks while driving pass your dealership, that would be me, saying Hi.
😀 Okay, East Hills made car buying so easy it’s addicting! This is the last one I swear! My last car I bought I told the salesman to call me when he gets a used hybrid in. the call came in last Wednesday with a Toyota, I was the first one to call, I drove it home the next day! No hovering salesman, asking me questions, he handed me the keys and said, “check it out!” Never in my life have I had an easier time purchasing anything! The salesman told me that I would probably like this car, and boy was he right!!! I’m so glad that he thought of me because right now I LOOOVE my new (used)car, and the fact that I basically sat at home to buy it makes it even better! They had my records from other purchases, so my plates were transferred with ease, even the finance part of it. I was going to get a loan on my own but they gave me a competitive rate, and certainly less hassle than doing it on my own. They gave me good money for my trade in and I was ready to go. The personal attention that I received is unheard of in this business and I’m honored to do business with East Hills, they’re tops in my book, but I have to say that now it’s my friends and family that are going back there, because I’m sworn off from buying another car, I guess it’s back to buying shoes! 🙂 Thanks everyone at East Hills for making it such a great pain free experience, I am so happy with all my purchases and hope that everyone that needs a car has the same experience as I did! Keep up the great personal service guys it makes the customers feel great!
I was looking for a dark blue Tahoe and found one on the internet from East Hills in Douglaston. When I called they stated it was not in stock but said they may have one in the Roslyn shop. The gentleman called back right away to let me know that they had it. I did a lot of research and had a pretty good idea of what I was looking to spend and what the vehicle was worth. When I came in everyone was courteous and friendly. Gus showed me the car and gave me the price, this is the first time I went to a dealership and felt no need to negotiate a lower price. Then came the financing, I did not want to put a lot down and had a trade in that I was upside down in. There were a few snags along the way but they were able to work through them. I work for a major bank and was unable to get the loan I wanted secured but they were not only able to get the job done, they were able to get a fantasic rate to go along with it. Kudos to Michael Herschbein for that! Rob Amendola was also fantastic, there was some scuff marks on the bumper which I asked if they could remove, Gus was able to buff out most of it but Rob arranged for his bumper guy to come in and perfect the job next week. I can not say enough nice things about these guys and will be recommending them to anyone who is in the market for a vehicle.
To all members of the public,
Please be advised that this is the worst dealer I’ve ever dealt with ! It started on May 7 with a lease of a NEW Malibu for my daughter then within six days, the NEW car broke down twice and had to be towed back to the dealer. The second breakdown was after we were told by the Service Mgr.Leon, that it was REPAIRED and another breakdown 10 minutes after pulling out of this incompetent service dept.
The owner, Tim Brodlieb, is a LIAR and an arrogant JERK !
Go and research General Motors and the Consumer Affairs Depts of NYC & Nassau County and you will find several complaints about this so called Dealership.Don’t shop here ! Go somerwhere else !
Today, JUNE 11,2010 I recieved a call at 4:30 pm from the attorney for EAST HILLS CHEVROLET WHO ATTEMPTED TO INTIMIDATE ME BY ASKING “WHAT DO I PLAN ON DOING WITH THE CAR AT EAST HILLS “? A CAR THAT I DID NOT AUTHORIZE !
I TOLD HIM IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS THAT THE LEASE WAS CANCELLED ! HE SHOULD CHECK WITH THE OWNER, TIM BRODLIEB, THE GENERAL MGR, JAIME FRANKLIN & THE GM FACTORY REP, MR.NICHOLSON. They ,on May 21, proposed a ten day or cancell time frame FOR THE another car. I RECEIVED NO CONTACT FROM THEM IN THAT PERIOD. I TOLD HIM DON’T HARASS ME !
This is the WORST dealership that I have ever dealt with !!! Starting with the DIRTBAG owner ,Tim Brodlieb, a liar and a thief ! and his henchmen, the General MGR. Jaime Franklin, anoyher bag of garbage and the Service Mgr. named Leon who doesnt know his -ss from a car engine ! I am in the process of suing them and closing their two dealerships. Do yourself a favor, check out Consumer Affairs for both NYC & Nassau County & Federal Trade Commission, Better Buisness Bureau, Attorney General for NEW YORK STATE, Fraud Unit,et al.
This dealership offers great sales and service. Follows up on what your wanting and needing in a car. Great selection in vehicles and great prices. This is the dealership to go to for the car of your needs.
I first heard about East Hills Chevrolet form Costco, and I went there just for a price on my Equinox LTZ. I had done my research on Edmunds and Price Value, so I knew the price and all the features that I wanted. The price at East Hills was better than the low end on Edmunds. There was no pressure to buy and it was a wonderful experience. When I received my car Danny (Brendler) spent about two hours with me to help with all the different features on the car. He was extremely patient and set up my Blue Tooth and my first service. I would definetly recommend East Hills Chevrolet and my salesman Danny.
you must be related to these idiots ! this dealership is the worst !
Just picked up my new 2010 surburban from east hills for my business and the transition from my trade to the new car was flawless great team of guys:)
I purchased my 2009 Impala during cash for clunkers. With all the insanity and confusion trying to get answers from the government, the staff at East Hills Chevrolet, from sales, to finance, to management, worked with me. Not only did I get my clunker money, I received cash downpayment assistance with a very low rate. I have recommended this dealership to a few people and all have been extremely satisfied. Any problems can be resolved quickly when you ask for the right people.:)
I’m a Minister from Connecticut, and this dealership treated us very good (Denise, Rob, John,), and meet all of our expectations. I highly recommend them to purchasers that see their inventory of vehicals and are interested in seeing them and making a purchase. They keep their dealership promises to our family and called us several times to make sure we were happy and doing fine with our 2007 chevy Surburban LTZ

Mr. Katechis was very attentitve, extremely knowledgeable about the cars at the lot. He was able to inform me about the cars and helped me to make a good decision when I selected my car according to my needs and budget. He is definitely an asset to your business and I highly recommend Mr. Katechis to anyone who is looking to purchase a vehicle from your company. I personally Thank Mr. Katechis for his patience and advise which he provided during this business deal. 🙂
I leased a brand new 2010 Chevy Malibu LT for my 20 year old daughter and four days later the car STALLS in the middle of Rush Hour traffic on the Long Island Expressway. My daughter called ‘ Roadside Assistance ‘ only to find out that they would not respond. They said that the LIE is a ” Restricted Roadway ” and they are not allowed on it. WHAT ? She then called the Nassau County Police. It took hours to Tow that ” new car ” back to East Hills Chevrolet under Police Escort. Then, the next day I called their service dept. and spoke with the manager, Leon, who said they had NO LOANER CAR AVAILABLE ?
On May 13 I received a call from Leon who said that the new car was Repaired ! Come and get it , HE said. So my wife and daughter get to the dealership, pick up the REPARED new car and ONCE AGAIN, it STALLS ON THE LIE in Rush HOUR TRAFFIC AND WE WAIT FOR THE POLICE TO CALL A TOW. This vehicle is defective.I will not allow my daughter to drive it, would you ? What a HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP ! Go somewhere else.:(
This dealership needs to close !!!!!!!
I’m glad to report that the dealership owner got involved and that this matter is about to be solved. I expressed to the owner my concern for my daughters safety in a new vehicle that broke down twice on a major highway in rush hour traffic.I also mentioned that 20 year olds today go out at 10pm and return home at 3 or 4 am. I told him that I wouldn’t be able to sleep. If that new car broke down again at that hour, God only knows what would happen.
He understood and mentioned that he would try to get us a brand new vehicle other than the one that broke down twice and was now repaired.
Well, on May 18,2010 at 4pm, the dealership owner called my home to advise that he was getting us a BRAND NEW CAR ! He further stated that his General Manager would follow up on this matter. My opinion of this dealership is now “PENDING” until this matter is fully resolved.
To review what happened to my family as a result of this dealership ;
We leased a brand new 2010 Chevy Malibu on May 7.
On May 11, 4 days later, the “new ” car broke down on the LIE in rush hour traffic, not far from the dealership. But, now my daughter calls Roadside Assistance only to find out that the LIE is a “restricted roadway” and they are not allowed on it ! The operator tells my daughter to call the Police for help ! Four hours later the Police call a tow truck.
Again, now two days later we get a call from the Service Mgr.Mr.Leon, who states that the car is repaired and ready for pick up.My wife and daughter go to pick up the “NEW” car and ten MINUTES later on the LIE the Car BRAKES DOWN AGAIN !!!!!! Another dangerous wait for the Police to call the TOW TRUCK !
Now after complaining to the service mgr, I now talk to the General Mgr.Mr.Jaime Franklin and get NO-WHERE ! i THEN ASK TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER, a Mr.Tim Brodlieb. He calls me and he agrees that my daughter is not safe in THAT car. We agree either a different Malibu or CANCELL the order ! He refers me back to Mr. Franklin who tells me that it could take up to 30 days, WHAT !
Now, I file complaints with the NHTSA and GM. It was GM who told me to get a time frame. So again I called Mr.Franklin on May 21 and he put on the phone the “COMPANY REP” A Mr.Nicholson, who after I advised him of the situation and that my daughter was given a FOUR YEAR OLD loaner car, he agreed that thirty days was not reasonable. So he said ten [ 10 } DAYS EITHER A NEW CAR OR HE WOULD CANCEL THE ORDER !
I have not heard from the since that date !
Now, ITS JUNE 1,2010, MORE THAN 10 DAYS. NO NEW CAR, SO I PRESUME THIS ORDER IS CANCELLED ! ARE THEY MEN OF THEIR WORDS !

East Hills Chevrolet took all the BS out of buying a car, they transformed the process into a fun hassle free experience! I was shopping online for a car for my daughter and thought maybe the ride into Roslyn was too far, when I informed the salesman what I wanted, I was in there that night and walked away with the perfect car and got a GREAT rate! Totally hassle free, I did NOT feel like I was being swindled, which is usually the case at car dealerships. The experience was so good 3 months later I traded in my Toyota, and got another used car for myself! Both cars are great and I have recommended East Hills Chevrolet to my friends and family because of my experience!:)
This is my very first vehicle! I wanted something that would accommodate my husband and me. Not too small for him and not too big for me, so I searched for an SUV. Perusing the internet, I found the Equinox and loved it! I printed the info and headed over to Douglaston, unfortunately, they didn’t have the vehicle on their lot so the salesperson said “I will call our other store to see if they have it”. There was no pressure to look for something else.
After confirming Roslyn had the vehicle, he sent us to Gus. What a really nice guy! Gus made us feel like old friends at a bbq catching up on old times. I would highly recommend him to do business with.
I can assure you my experience with this dealership was smooth sailing. They were all very nice, and I would like to think honest people.
We’ve only had the vehicle for two days, so there’s nothing negative to report. If for any reason I should have to retract this review…..I will!!! And I promise I will %^&*(*&^ let them have it!
We found a 2007 Cadillac CTS with 24,500 miles at East Hills Chevrolet last week and are amazed at the extraordinary customer service we received from the first phone call through the closing of the sale.
First of all, we have to explain that we have been through an exhaustive search for this model and year Cadillac. Most of the dealers have posted what our East Hills Chevrolet salesperson, Rob, has explained is a “LOWBALLER” – a remarkable vehicle that entices you to contact the dealership. However, once you call on the car you soon discover that it was sold “YESTERDAY” or “TWO HOURS AGO” and the salesperson then attempts to present alternate vehicles that they have in stock. Also, these cars remain on internet websites for MANY MONTHS!!!
By contrast, East Hills Chevrolet actually had the vehicle we were seeking and went out of their way to assist us with the purchase as we live in Connecticut. When we arrived at the dealership, the car was EXACTLY as represented in the internet photos and the price and monthly payment, quoted by Rob, were EXACTLY what we were informed they would be. To be honest, we were shocked that the everything worked out – TO THE PENNY – AS QUOTED.
We were not pressured into the sale, but offered a test drive and to have any questions answered. We decided it was a great deal, in excellent condition and the transaction was handled with efficiency and expertise. We were back in Connecticut with our new vehicle three hours later.
We will recommend East Hills Chevrolet and our outstanding salesperson, Rob, to friends and family and look forward to future mutually satisfying auto purchasing experiences at East Hills. A PLEASANT AND GREATLY APPRECIATED SURPRISE – FROM BEGINNING TO END!
I saw a 2010 Ford Mustang advertised on 5/10/10 for $19,000.

I filled out the contact info, and the salesman, Perry K, emailed me his sales pitch. I had approved financing with Capital One. That evening, I headed over to the dealership, and saw the car on the lot, $20995, was posted on the windshield. The next few days, I was swamped by phone calls from the sales dept. On 5/12/10, I finally had some time, arrived at 6pm, and met Perry, his desk is the first desk on the right as you head in. I test drove the car, and was ready to make a purchase. First, they give me some excuse, that the special pricing is based on financing with them, I said okay, but there is no mention of financing on their ad. It turns out, the rate I had already arranged was better than their deal, I knew this would happen. They sales price was not $19k, not $20995, but $21600. When I asked why I could not get it for $19k, they thought I was an alien, they said that I was wrong, they wanted me to come up with the difference. You see, my bank would only finance the purchase price of $19600, however, it was advertised for $19,000.
Obviously, they tried to pull one on me. I told them I could not go thru with their offer, and left.
When I came home, I knew I was correct, I emailed Perry, and left a message, guess what, the phone calls, and emails have stopped.
Avoid this dealership, I have filed a complaint with bbb, for all of us who work hard for our money, don’t waste your time. Businesses has to earn our business, save yourself some time and aggravation, just keep driving by this dealership, and never stop to go inside.
They are a bunch of crooks.
my review is for the East Hills Chevrolet at Douglaston, not Roslyn
I want to post a retraction. Tim, the owner was a complete gentleman, and gave me a personal call. Go figure, a owner who cares.Obviously, he is a hands on owner, who cares about all his current, past, and potential customers, and his business. If all CEO’s and owners had his passion, our country would be in great shape.
There was an error with the pricing of the mustang, and he offered me a chance to come into his dealership to work something out. Tim was a class act, and Perry, the salesperson, also emailed me with an apology.
Try this dealership out, if you want to purchase a new or used vehicle. They do stock some nice cars.
Hey, you never know, maybe you will see me driving a mustang convertible this summer after all.
THIS IS THE 3RD CAR THAT I BOUGHT FROM EASTHILLS . 2 FOR MY DAUGHTER, AND WITH THE WAY THEY TREATED HER I DECIDED TO BUY MY NEW TRAILBLAZER FROM EASTHILLS ALSO. THIS WAS A GOOD DICISION,, I HAVE REALLY HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK BUT MY DAUGHTERS COBOLT HAD A STEERING RECALL THAT THEY TOOK CARE OF STRAIGHT AWAY. SHE WAS VERY HAPPY NOT TO HAVE TO LOOSE ANY TIME AT WORK. I RECOMMEND EAST HILLS CHEVY TO ALL..
Dan wrote up the sales agreement, John, the manger, approved it. When the car came in Michael, the finance department, had changed the agreement and fee structure. Michael would not budge because he had the car sitting there with my registration and plates. Michael added additional fees and taxes to non-taxable items.
I wish i had read these reviews before buying my truck from these guys, everything said above is not only true but these guys are way ahead of being crooks i paid a lot more what i was offered initially i thought they are all crooks with different names so i still bought the vehicle cuz i needed it for work.
the problem started afterwards i was issued a temp registration and after 5 weeks i still havent recieved a computerized registration so i called the dealer and they said they will take care of it right away, now after a week i called again and i was told they lost the title and they will have to request for a duplicate from albany.
i told this guy “John Berriola” that im unable to use the vehicle for work until i get the registration, and if i dont get it by friday i will write bad reviews online for the dealership and his response was ” Go ahead who cares and he will write bad reviews about my company since he knows the name of my company” and then he hung up on me.
i suggest to everyone who is reading this stay far far away from them as there deals are completely bait and switch from the get go plus there paper work department is loosing important documents. ridiculous.
The classic bait & switch
They went through all the pricing BS and we agreed upon a price
when salesperson A was ready to give me a VIN number for my insurance John Berriola told him use a number he pulled from some book
I later found out why
when I went to pickup my car it was a different car that did not include other features (sunroof, etc.) the car with the features I wanted would cost more
Real SLIMEball that Berriolla guy :devil(
friendly as heck
seemed like a great guy
uses niceness as a sneaky tool
don’t get fooled, go elsewhere
I had a terrible experience with this dealership. It should be noted that I went to the Douglaston branch of this dealership, perhaps the one in Roslyn doesn’t operate the same way although with the same owner I am guessing that both places work the same way. The initial salesman, Flavio, I worked with was very friendly and I do not blame him for the experience I had. We agreed upon a price, offer sheet signed and all conditioned upon an agreement on finance terms. I came in the next day with plates, insurance, registration all in place. I waited for 3 hours while they put the new plates on, switched my insurance, and got a finance deal put into place, upon which I spoke to their sales manager. Without any word or warning, they had put a 995 dollar fee hidden in the contract that I almost signed until I saw that the price I was signing off on was 1000 more than agreed upon. There was not a single word spoken to me about this 1000 dollar increase, not for the entire day between us agreeing to the price and me going back to the dealership, and not for the entire 3 hours that I spent waiting at the dealership to speak to the finance manager. This is not the way to do business, and if this is common practice I can’t imagine legal action has not been taken on this dealership as of yet. I am just grateful that I caught the increase in price before I signed the contract.
