Miriam Rodriguez was a great salesperson!. A Better Way Wholesale has HORRIBLE customer service. Don’t believe what they write on the internet ads! make sure everything works before you leave the store. I was treated rudely, given the run around when calling,I was hung up on, disrespected, and above all treated extremely unprofessional. I would never buy a car from here again. MIRIAM WAS AN AMAZING SALES REP THOUGH
The dealership is a mess, too many salesman and lots of promises. car fees and hidden charges almost double up the price of the car as advertised. pushy sales people and hurried final sales. too slow to show the car and unresponsive to customer requests. what ever happen to the “customer is always right” principle? Financing dept is pretty much a sign here, here, here & here and at the very last shows you how much rate and final cost is when you have pretty much signed everything else. balooning the price to double the advertised price. Plus the warranty ad ons which they pretty much just show you and explains little from which i see on the complaints that does not cover much. Anyway we walked away after another snag,we lost money but im sure we saved ourselves a headache for the next few years. Now just fighting to get some money back. They get you with the non refundable deposit for which i hear is illegal.
This place is a very bad joke. I was interested in a Blazer which was priced on the internet at $4995. While taking a test drive, It became apparent that the 4×4 transfer case was wrecked. Also, the brakes were grinding loudly when applied. At the conclusion of the test drive, I was told that a $598.00 “documentation” fee would be added to the price of the vehicle. Additionally, a $198.00 fee would be added for “etching the vin number on the glass” By the time that the salesman; Arron was finished, the price of the vehicle had jumped by $800.00! The Blazer turned out to be a piece of junk and I wouldn’t buy anything from this band of rip off artists.
Wow,these guys are horrible. The entire process was an atrocity from start to finish. I would not have believed this could happen to a prospective customer in any situation, on any product, if I had not personally witnessed it. I gave a coworker a ride to check out a vehicle from Better Way on 1/8/2014, she had purchased from there before so she thought she would try it again with the idea of trading in the vehicle she previously bought at Better Way. It’s no surprise that these guys are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, as a matter of fact, Better Way should be ashamed of associating themselves with the word “better”. Here are some observations I witnessed:
1. Salesman whom we contacted on the phone never showed up at the agreed upon meeting time, so we waited 30 minutes to get another salesman.
2. The salesman we ended up with was obviously more concerned with telling us how much he knew about selling cars and how long he was selling cars instead of trying to sell a car. He was obnoxious and egotistical. He actually said to my friend, “if you can’t show me some down payment money, I don’t want to talk to you”. I was not impressed at all. Actually, this is where I knew this place was a sham.
3. This same salesman, who never gave us his name, also tried to use scare tactics by telling my coworker that because of her credit score, around 650-ish, she couldn’t shop around anywhere else because she owed a thousand dollars (above the value of the car) on the existing loan and that anyone else would not finance her, what a lie! She was willing to put down additional funds to cover that, but by this time she was totally disgusted with them, as was I.
4. We were there about 90 mimnutes, never saw a car. Actually, the cars are not even on the office lot, he wanted all of the financial issues verified, to include minimum $1000 non-refundable deposit, before they show you a car. I swear to God, this is what the salesman said to us. I couldn’t believe it. So we waited for the salesman (even though there was no intention of buying a car there under any circumstances)just to see if we would see a car, because he was waiting for a shuttle driver to give him a ride to where the cars were. This entire operation is a joke.
4. The appearance of the salesman, not professional. You can’t tell who is the customer or who is the salesman at Better Way sales office.
Better Way auto sales is the exact opposite of a better way to purchase a vehicle. My coworker was really upset that she was treated that way, especially as a returning customer who never missed a payment. She says she only returned there because she didn’t know any better, and that’s why she wanted someone to go with her this time. Even after we left, the salesman continued to call her and try to get us to come back by making promises that were in direct contrast to what he told us in person, what a jerk.
Better Way certainly lost a sale, and they gained some very bad press from our visit last night, and anytime I get a chance to warn anyone from going there to purchase a vehicle, you can bet that I will.
last year, after an auto accident i have to look a family vehicle. after two months search i found a van at this dealership. at the time of signing the paper they offered me to buy a warranty. the finance office gave me fake promises, which later on became a scam when i needed. they said that if any thing happen to this van they will give me rental as well as will take care of the van, which already had 101000 miles on it. i felt that the warranty would be a peace of mind for the next four years when i need it. i paid for this so called warranty almost $ 2900. that was total around $ 11500 i paid at that day. off course, i have to borrow some of the money from my family. after four months passed the van started giving me problem. i have hard time to start the van. i checked the starter and the battery out but they both were fine. the problem still there. i took the van one of warranty company’ authorized service center for the first time, who did the diagnosis. the guy gave me the estimate of $1900 from which i have to pay $700 for the parts and the service which were not covered under the warranty. this was the starting point when i thought that i made a critical mistake to buy this warranty. i called the company who told me that this is not a warranty, guaranty or insurance. this is a service contract, which has it own rules, regulations and conditions. i took van back because i was not expecting this kind of response. further, after few weeks the van stopped. i had to send the van to a Honda dealership to do the diagnosis. they did not except others’ diagnosis, which i already paid. the service manager told me that van needed a 100,000 miles service included time belt and other components to be replaced. he gave me estimate of around $2000, which he said the company will not pay because i did not do the regular maintenance. i went back to the dealership who sold me this van after it has 1001000 on it. they refused to do any thing regardless they knew the service should been done before they selling the van to someone. i ask you a question. suppose you buying something and also you know that you have to spend another $ 1000 or so in next few months to run your ride. would you buy the so called warranty or even would you buy this ride? i know your answer. now i decided to do something fight back against this fraudulent purchase. i contacted to DMV, BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, CONSUMER PROTECTION DEPARTMENT, LAWYERS, SMALL CLAIM COURTS. in the mean time i have to take the van back and gave to someone else to repair it who personally offered me warranty that if his done work give me problem in the future he will do the service for free. DMV is looking into this dealership’s fraudulent deals, BBB also still in touch with me, lawyers encouraged me to go to the small claim courts, which is my next step. I’ve paid another $2000 to fix the van without any company’s help plus $2900 which i paid to the company. i learned my lessen, never trust verbally promises. you need to let them write down on the paper. do not do just the car fax, look into other problems which are not reported or need to be done before you buy it. i would never recommend this dealership to anyone either to my friends or anyone else. you may look my response with the company at Better Business Bureau’ web site.
Beware of this dealership!!! I called on a few vehicles from AutoTrader and then went to their website. They never stand behind their advertised prices! I was told that the price advertised was a “typo” and the new price was a few thousand more…Only to see a few days later the advertised price was “REDUCED” on their site, and still they insist it was a typing error. Crooked is the only word I can use to describe them.
DO NOT GO THERE! AFTER YOU GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT THEY TURN ON YOU. I WAS IN DESPARATE NEED OF A CAR, SO I PUT A DEPOSIT ON ONE EVEN THOUGH I WAS KIND OF PUT BACK. THE SALES GUY ONLY SHOWED ME ONE CAR AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE IN MY RANGE. HE PUSHED ME VERY HARD INTO THIS ONE CAR. I GAVE THEM A DEPOSIT AND DECIDED NOT TO GO THOUGH WITH IT AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE IT BACKK TO ME EVEN THOUGH THE SO CALLED “BINDING” AGREEMENT WAS NOT SIGNED BY THEM. THEY SAID “THEIR COPY WAS SIGNED” WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANGER I WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND. WHEN I FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF ONE HE WAS RUDE AND VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO ME. THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. DON’T BE FOOLED BY THEM. O
Beware of the dealership. They are a high preasure dealership. Once you purchase a car they are done with you. Don’t get me wrong you might get a good car there but you might get one like I got.
If you have any doughts about anyyhing do not purchase a car from A Better Way. If there are any real problems once you get the car they are your problems.
I purchased a 2003 Saab for $7000. I only took a short test drive and was not allowed to take the car to my own service guy to look at it. I bought the car, my mistake. Within 2 day the transmission was bucking, the electrical malfunctioned and the radio dispay broke. They looked at the car, made some wiring changes so the tail lights would not stay on. I was told the transmission was not a real problem and it needed a $250 part.
When I brought the car to my guy I found out the exaust was held up with wire, the transmission needed to be rebuilt and the car needed to be rewired.
I traded the car in on a new car and took a $3000 loss. When the manager from A Better way called me frm an email I sent he told me it was my fault for not paying $2000 extra for an extended warranty.
I take half the blame for allowing myself to be suckered.
Please do not make the same mistake I made. Go to a dealership you can trust.
Wish I could give them a zero star rating- Will be calling the Attorney General, BBB and Dealers and Repairers Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles on this dealership. Sold us a lemon and they knew it. These people must have no conscience selling me a piece of crap knowing that I was putting my infant son in the backseat. seemed “nice” at first, and once the paperwork was signed, gave us nothing but a hard time with necessary repairs that needed to be made, promises that they couldn’t keep, and questions they couldn’t answer. Can’t believe these people are permitted to do business.
Having been a consumer advocate for many years, I find this company just doesn’t get it. They missed the boat on customer service. They forgot one special element of the car buying experience. To eliminate STRESS to the consumer. What they are good at however is to add to your stress. Although they will tell you with complete confidence that they will call you right back, don’t hold your breath, you will turn blue waiting for the call that never comes. When you do call them, you will be put on hold for an eternity. I called about a car advertised on their website and was invited to come and test drive it. When I showed up, the car did not start. Come to find out, it was awaiting parts and could not be driven. The salesman didn’t have a clue but should have known this before wasting my time to drive the thirty mins. out of my way. Their contract is completely bias to say the least with no regard for you, the consumer. Example; They will tell you they need a deposit to process your offer. Item #2 of the contract says there is no refund of the deposit. I asked the salesman what was the purpose of such a deposit. His answer ” It shows good faith and we will take the car off the market”. Fine, except for one small detail. Item #8 on the back of the contract reads; “During this period the vehicle is still available for sale and may be sold and delivered to another party”. When I pointed this out to my eager salesman, he awkwardly said “let me get a manager to explain”. Of course the manager was unavailable. The only “Good Faith” here is to benefit them, not you. This is a little known scam used by un-reputable dealers called “Triple Money”. It works by taking multiple deposits from consumers on a specific vehicle, then selling it to the highest bidder. They can make several hundred additional dollars off just one vehicle using this scam. Any reputable dealer in most cases will not ask for a deposit, and if they do, it’s always refundable if the deal falls through due to lack of financing. Do not be duped out of your hard earned money from this dealer. If you are “brave” enough to deal with them at all, make your best offer, walk away then call them on your deadline and demand an answer one way or the other. If they do not give you an answer, move on to another dealer. Do not let them put you on the hook. And never give them a deposit! It is not required to process a loan and it is a lose-lose for you. 😡
