DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER until you read my story and make your own opinion. I bought my car on 6/20/2010, on 06/25/2010 I was driving with my 3 children in the car and went to turn into on coming traffic and when I pushed on the gas pedal and the car would only roll. I almost was side swiped by oncoming traffic. I was lucky I was only 2 miles from home so I chanced it and took side roads. Every stop, the car just rolled and then eventually took off. I got it home and contacted Thomas Auto Sales, they said they would make the deal right and bring the car back. Their mechanic had it for a week, stating it was running perfectly, then he called me a few days later stating the engine was making a rattling noise and it backed fired and he wanted to keep it for a few days more to check it out. Then that Friday July 2nd he said he wanted me to take it for the weekend and see how it drove but not to take it out of town. It acted up again and made a huge clunk, I contacted the mechanic and he told me to bring it back on that Monday July 5th. I chose to take it to Beaverton Nissan and get it inspected before dropping it off with their mechanic. Beaverton Nissan told me it needed a new transmission that the error code showed up in the memory but had been cleared. I dropped it off with Thomas Auto Sales mechanic again, he called me the next day stating it was running fine, no problems no error codes. I called Thomas and told them about what Beaverton Nissan had said, their response was, “who told you to do that?!”, and they said they would call me back which they never did. I called them back a few hours later and they had my car at the Nissan dealer across the street and said they would let me know what they found, to come pick up a loaner. This was 2 weeks after the whole car deal, I had no car and finally offered one. I spoke with the Nissan mechanic and he stated that Thomas never even told him what was wrong with the car, the memory was cleared so that meant that Thomas’s mechanic cleared the errors out of the memory, I told him we had it in writing from Beaverton Nissan of the error code and what was wrong and he stated that the code that showed up was exactly right that it needed transmission work. Half a hour later I get a call from Thomas, wanting to make a new car deal, which I was like “wow, at least they are going to help”. What a lie that was, they wanted to pick a car out for me, my payments were going to be $100 more a month with no money down, and my $3000 that I put down with the other car was voided due to it being with the old contract. This car falls under the lemon law, it has a major defect and its unsafe, so right now I am out a car, out $3000 dollars and they refuse to honor my down payment/trade in. This car lot only sells cars that other dealers don’t want, which means there is something wrong with them, I am currently finding that out now. Save yourself the hassle and the heartache and go to a real dealer! This dealership is a rip off and I am going through the state for consumer fraud.
