Stopped by on a Saturday wanting to buy a touring, 4wd- 2009 Honda Pilot. Fair market value – per edmunds.com plus four other area dealers quotes was between $35 – $36,000.Sales guy said he didn’t want to match prices and wanting to “hang on to their Pilot inventory” – and wanted to sell it at MSRP. So he snubbed us and we left – ended up passing about 20 plus Honda Pilots on their lot.
So much for tough economic times and cry baby auto dealers. Ended up going to another Honda dealership the next day and bought a 2009 Pilot.
This was the worst experience I ever had at a Dealer. We told them what we were willing to pay which was pretty close to invoice. The manager we were talking with was just plain rude saying that he wasn’t making any money on this. He wouldn’t even make a counter offer. We told him thank you and he responded by saying “Thanks for nothing”. The guy was a plain jerk and the worst person to deal with. We ended up buying a lexus instead on the very same day with a salesmen who offered 10 times better service.
I brought my vehicle in for routine service on Friday, and when I returned on Saturday morning to pick it up, the windshield was broken! The dealership is refusing to take any responsibility for the damage to my vehicle and insists that I must have my insurance pay for the repairs.
I have spoken with the service manager and the branch manager and no one will help me. Needless to say, I will never EVER be returning.
Let’s put it this way, I walked out very unsatisfied. Do not deal with car Salesman MARK BURDA. I was told he is one of the best car salesmen…. why? Because he is overly aggressive, he will tell you what you want to hear and he WILL NOT let you walk away. I repeat he WILL NOT let you walk away. If you get passed negotiating the price and payments, make sure you DO NOT deal with the Finance Rep, CHRIS. He will then say one thing and put something different on your contract, being sneaky about making changes to your bottom-line wishes and what you originally agreed upon. Lastly, STEVE the Sales Manager is a very calm guy because he tunes you while talking to him. He will believe his teams’ word versus yours.
Bottom line, save yourself some time and choose another Honda Dealership with some integrity.
