Agree with the previous review. After seeing an ad in the local newspaper with an unbelievably low price, stopped by knowing there would be some kind of bogus deal behind it.
The problem with salesperson honesty: at first, no deals were acknowledged. “No Sir, that’s the invoice price” – and repeatedly denied there being any kind of rebates. Of course, an hour later, rebates were mentioned, and, OBVIOUSLY you don’t qualify for all of them.
As opposed to the previous reviewer, I do blame all of them for that, including the salesperson. It’s this kind of culture that gives them such a bad rep to the point you almost expect to be fooled once you walk into a dealership. The final price was competitive and I ended up buying the car (btw runs great) but I would’ve been a much happier costumer if no shady deals had been involved.
Lastly – of course tried to push some local insurance. Would not accept a check without acquiring their insurance – that ended up obviously being way more expensive and full of shady deals. Different story though.
Not really ready to deal on the used cars. Unable to give honest history on the used cars. They really don’t care if they earn your business or not. Can’t really recommend this dealership.
I’ve taken a couple of my vehicles to Currie Motors over the last few years. They have been courteous, fast, and accurate with their work. I’ve dealt with Ken Waller the last couple of times and he is a consummate professional.
As it turned out — the final price they offered was competitive, and if they had offered it at the beginning, we would have been happy customers.
But before they got there — they started at a very low price — and then when we accepted it, theywould fabricate a bogus excuse to jack it up.
And this happened at least five times!
Excuses included:
*We’re sorry, but that car with the low price was just sold 10 minutes ago, however we have another one just like it for $800 more
*we must have entered the wrong zip code for your home address, so you no longer qualify for that $500 discount
(and I can’t remember all the others. The entire process took about 5 hours, stretched out over two days.
It’s like baiting/switching was some kind of olympic sport for them.
I can’t really blame the young sales person.
This culture of customer abuse extends to both of the sales managers we spoke with, and probablyruns right up to the ownership level.
Truly pathetic — and completely disfunctional — because they finally did offer a good price, and we wanted to buy from a local business, located just a few blocks from where we live.
This dealership is everything people despise about the car buying process. They were full of false promises, lies, deceit and basically tried to weasle money out of our pocket in every possible way. After shopping around at a few different dealers, they told us they would give us a certain amount for our trade-in to lure us away from other dealers. When we got down to the numbers they came up with all kinds of reasons to not honor their promise and undercut it by $1000. Then they tried to discredit a discount we knew was legit and said they would ‘give it to us anyway even though they were jeopardizing their relationship with GM’ as if they were doing us a favor by giving us the discount we knew we were entitled to, though it was $500 less the discount we were supposed to get. Finally, and most annoyingly, they didn’t even honor the price they had quoted us for the car and tried to hide in extra fees. They had several different people talk to us so it seemed like there was no one to blame for the discrepancy but we walked out of there and concluded every one of them is involved in trying to trick honest people into paying too much money. We will NEVER go back there. Save your money and shop somewhere else!!!
Some of the car sales men at this dealership are shysty. They pressure you into getting into the car that they want you to have instead of what you want to have or can afford. Thr lie on your credit application and end up getting you a high intrest loan that makes your loan drawn out for an extensive amount of time. Sure they are friendly when you first walk through the door but thats just to woo you in. They make promises that they know to be lies and when its time for them to hold their end of the bargain, the fall short. The managers are very rude and don’t really conside what it is that you have to say. Try seting an appointment with them and almost always they will give you a date and then not be there or take their time to finally talk to you. They may even suggest that you were the whole cause of the problem to begin with. Co-signer or down payment? Ha. They will pocket your down payment and your cosigner ends up being primary on your loan. Your credit is destroyed because they run your credit five to seven times. So basically I feel like it’s like going into a resturaunt and asking for a glass of wine for the first time and they bring you a glass of sparkling water and its not until oyu go to another place that you find out that you were being charged for fine wine and given water.
