I bought a Civic from South Bay Honda in 2005. It was a great deal where I got an internet price via email, went in, wrote a check and drove home in the car. So this week (2016), I got an internet price via email for a CR-V, went in, and pulled out my checkbook to pay for it, only to find they would honor the price only if I financed. They wanted an additional $461 for the privilege of paying by check. I was taken aback but was willing to work with them and offered an additional $267 over the price they had quoted me (made for a nice round number). No good, I started getting a lot of double talk from the sales manager. At that point I walked out based on principle.
I was contacted by the sale manager later in the evening after the above incident. He sincerely apologized and offered to honor the original price. I’ve always said that everyone makes mistakes and what matters is how you respond to them. South Bay Honda’s response was exemplary. I went in the next day and bought the car. I’m very happy with my new CR-V and feel that in the end South Bay Honda did right by me.
Recently bought a new car at nearly $2k below invoice from this dealership. I’d had a great offer from another dealership but they did not have the car in the color I wanted. SBH came down to match price on both the car and accessories when no other dealership would.
The buying experience was smooth and quick, went without a hitch. The salesman I worked with was very polite and friendly. The financial officer was a bit jumpy but got the deal done quickly.
Be aware that this dealership WILL preinstall accessories on all of their vehicles! The car I bought had ~$600 of accessories on it. Other vehicles I saw there had much much more, some in the thousands! Contact the salesman before you come here to know exactly what you’re getting.
Before going to the dealer, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Know what the best price around is and what accessories are standard or optional and what they really cost. This is your responsibility! I would have lost almost $2k if I had not done this. They tried to sell me a $500 alarm system that was STANDARD ON THE CAR. Don’t let them sell you anything you don’t want, don’t know the price for, or already getting anyway!

Today I just went through my worst car buying experiences. This dealership may offer you a few dollars less than other dealers because they are new dealership and they are trying to ramp up their sales, but please don’t fall for their enticement of a few dollars low price, because ultimately after they draw you in they treat customers like crap!
We were ill treated by this female who likes to call herself the boss of the place, called Jade. I think any customer should refuse to talk to her if being treated with bare minimum courtesy(let alone great customer service) is of any importance to you. This woman was discourteous, unprofessional, disrespectful and extremely rude to say the least. She created a scene in the place, yelling at me and my friends that accompanied for buying a car. This is not the kind of experience I am looking for when buying a $40,000 car.
I am worried that this dealership is even employing such kind of people, who don’t have any idea on what basic customer service is. This is specially concerning because she claims that she is the director of finance. Any dealership that encourages such kind of attitude should not be encouraged and patronized.
PLEASE DON’T BUY A CAR FROM THEM.
