absolutely exceeded my expectations! the service guy is friendly, honest and always attentive to my questions and concerns. I only go because the service is great! he never sells me anything i do not need and that is always my number one concern since im a girl and girls tend to get taken for a ride my mechanic shops. He is honest about the services i need and do not need and after taking my car there for a year, i trust that if he tells me i need something is because i do! he has a great attitude and I rather drive 30 minutes to this place than go accross the street and deal with OKAY service people. I highly recommend this H;)onda dealer!
We have always had good service at Larry Miller. This is not about the actual service department, it is about the service contract sold to me with my newest Honda at Larry Miller’s. BEWARE!! We were told it would cover all the maintenance my car would need during the covered period, “even burned out interior light bulbs” or fuses (I specifically asked about those). I would not have to worry about service at all (new tires and brakes would be my only concerns). Well… not so!
My first few oil changes, things went fine. They even checked my tire pressure when I had a (flat tire) warning light come on (there was not really any flat, just uneven pressure among the 4 tires due to weather changes).
Now, at 15,000 miles…I learn they are going to charge me $200-300 for routine service! Apparently my service contract does not cover fluids, air filters, or flushing out the brakes…and who knows what all else???? I am sure I will find out at future visits for service.
I am annoyed that the contract was misrepresented (there were 2 of us there and we heard the same promises regarding the contract–so it was not my misunderstanding). I am negatively surprised at the added expenses and I feel taken advantage of. I feel I was intentionally mislead. And I want others to BEWARE when it comes to purchasing anything extra that they are told will benefit them.
I purchased a Honda Civic, just what I wanted at an ok price, but I also purchased a spendy service contract the “business manager” told me would cover “everything but tires and brakes–it will even cover a burned-out light bulb” for the first 40 or 50,000 miles.
Now that I have reached just 15,000 miles and need more than an oil change, the service dept tells me I have to pay for air filters (at $108.50) and any fluids that are low, including a flush and new brake fluid at $101.95… … …SO even with my “service contract” I’m looking at $250-300. or more, for routine service. Apparently all my service contract covers is basic oil changes (could have done that at Jiffy Lube for A LOT LESS).
I bought the additional contract to avoid surprises, extra charges and being ripped off by service departments. Evidently I didn’t have to get that far to be taken advantage of–it started with the sales staff. (And NO I didn’t misunderstand, I had a 2nd person with me who heard the same promises). Misrepresentation / dishonesty is immoral. I really thought I’d found a car dealership I liked and could trust, evidently not. 😡
What a bunch of @$$holes! They told me they were holding the vehicle for me I wanted, I came in early for my appointment, and they were selling it to someone else. They were unapologetic, and lied to me saying they didn’t tell me they were holding it. Really they cheated me out of my vehicle and owe me thousands of dollars. They are a bunch of liars, cheats, and thieves.
Hello dirlwilkerson,
My name is Clint Edwards, I am the Internet Director for Larry Miller Honda of Hillsboro. First, I am very sorry that the vehicle you came in to purchase had sold prior to your arrival. Was the vehicle new or used? If it was a new vehicle, we would have taken a deposit on the vehicle to hold it for you. I am guessing that you were looking at a pre-owned car. On pre-owned vehicles, the first buyer who is here and willing to purchase the car gets to take it home. I was not involved in your dealings with us when you arrived, but I can imagine your frustration and am very sorry that you feel the car was sold out from under you. If you were the one here buying the car and we told you no, that it was already sold to a customer I am sure that you would have the same frustration as you have now.
In short, I am very sorry that things did not work out for you when you arrived. I truly hope that you find another vehicle. If you like, we would be happy to find you another.
That’s not what I was told on the phone, I would of come earlier and faster an been there at opening time if that was told to me, but it wasn’t. I was specifically told they would hold it for me and I said I had the money already.
So, again, I was lied to, and instead of helping out, you all *(&*&ed me when I spoke up, and blamed it on me, when you were the @holes who promised me something then took it back, why? Because you offered me a better deal then the people were paying, no doubt, and you #*$*ing knew it, so decided to say screw that guy we promised it to, we get more money out of these folks. So, BS, I say, BS, and no, you can’t make it up to me unless you pay me a few thousand dollars that I lost thanks to you, and my time, and frustration, and mistreatment. I will continue to post reviews on as many websites as I can about your business, to let people know the truth.
I wasn’t looking for the top of the line mini-van, but the price was too good to pass up. Â Also…points for answering the never ending questions of an excited 7 year old boy!
Great buying experience. Purchase with ease and without too much pressure like other dealerships. Sales person and his manager are very informative and friendly.
Would you recommend this dealership? YES
Larry Miller Honda of Hillsboro was very easy to work with. Pattie was very responsive to my inquiries on the Internet, and she was very easy to work with throughout the transaction. Also, it’s great there is now a Honda dealership in Hillsboro. It makes it very easy and quick to have the vehicle serviced, right here in town.
I’m very pleased with my 2009 Honda CR-V. Great product, great gas mileage, and very capable. Larry Miller’s service department did a great job installing the OEM accessories I ordered at the time I purchased the vehicle.
I highly recommend Honda products, and Larry Miller Honda of Hillsboro.
The entire process was quick and easy. I decided to purchase the vehicle (Honda Fit Sport -AT –specific color) the night before (after store hours) and emailed requesting a quote. The response came first thing the following morning with a very competitive quote–one that other dealers would not match.
The entire purchase process took only a few hours.
Would highly recommend using the internet option–as well as Larry Miller Honda.
On my Anniversary we drove in to Hillsboro Honda from the Oregon Coast. I had researched many vehicles online before narrowing it down to Hillsboro Honda, and was pleasantly surprised as we were made to feel right at home, Clint was wonderful, as was everyone at Hillsboro Honda. This was absolutely the best experience purchasing a new vehicle I have ever had……Thank You, I really love my Honda Civic EX, sporty, economical, and classy.:D
Clint Edwards was great to work with. He went out of his way to make sure I got the car I wanted. Everyone at the dealership was very helpful. It is a great place to buy a car and Clint is the salesperson to ask for!
Although you could say that I’ve been around the block, the Honda Fit I purchased from Larry Miller Honda of Hillsboro is my very first new car. Not only did I find exactly the model, color, and the 5-speed I wanted, but everyone there made the process so easy. Forget the negative cliches about car salesmen. My salesman knew the ins and outs of the car and was patient and helpful with all of my questions–no high pressure tactics or over-priced extras slipped into the price. The financing specialist helped me to feel relaxed and confident about my purchase. Amazingly, not even 24 hours after I’d purchased the Fit, he called me to let me know that my interest rate had dropped, saving me almost $20 a month on my payment. I would absolutely recommend this dealership (and my awesome little car) to everyone I know! 🙂
It is my pleasant experience to buy the car from Lirray Miller. Rich is very professional and knowledgebale about the car, answered all questions I had.
After doing a lot of research over a few months, I finally convinced myself it was time to get a newer car. My online contacts with Clint were friendly and relaxed. He was willing to meet another dealer’s price and commit to a specific quote in writing in his emails–something I noticed several other dealerships wouldn’t do.
When I arrived, I worked with Pattie, who was friendly and helpful. I had asked to do the test drive without a salesperson, and there was no pressure to do otherwise. She didn’t pressure me to make a purchase on my first visit, and she seemed willing to answer questions (although with all my research, I didn’t have a lot).
I returned the next day, having decided that I wanted an ’07 Fit. My only complaints about the process come from my financing experience. I felt that if I had not been better informed, the price of my car would have gone up significantly. I had to ask about fees that were added for services I didn’t want. I had to ask about the interest rate I was being offered (a full 1.25% above what I’d been quoted by a bank) in order to have that reduced. We talked for over an hour about an extended warrenty that I didn’t want. I recognize that these tactics are common in car sales, and I was aware that I could expect them, but I found the process draining and it took some of the sheen out of my otherwise sparkly experience.
I would recommend this dealership to friends, but I would warn them to always do their homework first.
Thanks “marjo” …:)…I hope you have your Fit for a very long time!! I hope you never forget the way it felt to walk out to your newest addition and start it up for the very first time. It was a pleasure working with you. I hope you have a wonderful New Year. I will be in touch!
We came into the dealership with all intentions on buying a CRV. All our research showed that was the car for us. We were please with the information flow between ourselves and Clint in the Internet Sales Department. Clint was never anything other than helpful. The process did take a bit longer than we wanted, ~ 4 hours. With a 6 year old this is too long. The actual negotiation time was not that bad and Hector, the paperwork gent, was great also. Everyone was personable and made the commitment to a car payment a bit easier.
Thanks to Clint for all his help and to Hector for getting through the paperwork with a smile (as well as keeping our 6 year old smilinghttps://cardealercheck.com/forum/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I am not sure why the review says “No” to the recomendation, it should say ”YES”. Please disregard as I would highly recomend this dealership to anyone.
:):p;):D:o:cool:
Thank you so much for the great review for Clint! He is enjoying his time away from work through the New Year, but will be pleased to see this note of praise! I will pass this along to the appropriate people to be sure he is recognised for his excellent customer service. Happy New Year, and thanks again!!
Having done our research online and via consumer digest, we already knew which car we wanted, and the online inventory for Honda of Hillsboro showed us that they had what we were looking for.
Clint came out into the parking lot to greet me when I arrived, and promptly showed me our new car… Like the other reviewer, I found him, as well as EVERYONE at the dealership, to be friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. A real pleasure to work with.
All of our questions were answered without delay, and a final sale figure was worked out and agreed upon in a very short period of time.
The process of actually purchasing the vehicle was fast, smooth, and without any surprises.
We could not be happier with our new car, nor with the service that Honda of Hillsboro showed to us.
I would highly recommend that you stop by and visit the friendly staff, and see if they can’t help you out… which I’m sure they can.
Thanks again Clint, Jeff Barnett, and everyone else!
Sorry, that was supposed to have been YES on the recommendation!
Thanks for the clarification Jeff!! Have a very Happy New Year!! 🙂
This was the first time we’ve purchased a new car. We visited another dealership first, where they were happy to show us the car and then turned strange when it was time to talk about price and financing (started with the MSRP and added about $4,000 in “mandatory” fees and expenses from there). Next, we tried getting internet price quotes from four dealers. From our first contact, Clint Edwards at Honda of Hillsboro was always upfront about the vehicle price (no hidden fees) and willing to help us. He was also the only salesman who respected our wish to be contacted via email rather than by phone. Other salesmen tried to mine information before they would actually give us a price quote, but not Clint. We made two visits to Larry Miller Honda of Hillsboro before purchasing, and found Clint to be helpful, honest, straightforward, and friendly on both visits. In the end, we bought through Honda of Hillsboro because of Clint. Even though the initial price quote was eventually matched by other dealers, we felt strongly that we wanted to work with someone we could trust. We were glad we made that choice, and would recommend Clint for future car purchases.
