Brandon the sales person was actually cool. The sales manager that said our offer was to low would not make an offer with me. He just kept saying the price it was already marked at was going to be a loss. I said that’s fine but I’m not paying that price. So I get up, head to get my kids jackets on, after I leave the area, he tells my wife he will take a grand of the price and asks if that’s ok. She says oh ok and pressured her into saying yeah right as I walk back over. I here him say ok I’ll see if I can do that. I was not happy with the price and he knows he wouldn’t have gotten that price with me. I told him I didn’t need him deciding how he was spending my money when I wasn’t there. He tried to say Well husbands and wives our on the same page on what they want to pay. I said I’m still not happy with the price and honestly he wasn’t that far off the max I wanted to pay for the car. We will say less than 500 bucks away. This would have been my 3rd car purchased at fowler Toyota but they have changed from a great family owned business to a complete waste of time and money to visit them. They made 5000.00 off my wife’s previous visit but now with out an apology they won’t make another dime of me even for service of the other 2 toyotas we own.
In 2009 i had replaced my tie rod ends and called fowler to have the alignment done. note this i am a veteran diesel truck and heavy equipment mechanic. they took in my tacoma and no more than thirty minutes later called me into one of the little cubicles were one of their “tech boys” was waiting to tell me that my rack and pinion was shot and they would cut me a real good deal. i told them the rack was fine and just do the alignment at that point it turned to extortion
“we will not do the alignment unless the rack is replaced” i told them no and i left but for some time now i wonder how many elderly people are getting the shaft on saturday much like the one they attempted to give me? I HATE CROOKED MECHANICS!
Did not list correct selling price on the internet
Changed price after I went to dealership to purchase
the Truck.
Yes, We found this to be TRUE, also!!!!!!
Buy your next vehicle from Fowler Toyota! Ask for Louis Parris. He is the best salesperson we have met in a long time. He is very patient and helpful. He ensures that you will find the perfect vehicle. He also makes sure that the negotiation process goes smoothly.
John Downs, finance manager also took the time to make sure that we were at ease with the finance end of the deal. He took the time to go over the numbers several times until I was happy everything was in order.
Make sure to hit the easy button next time you buy a vehicle and ask for Louis and John at Fowler Toyota.
The Service people in question LIED to me 3 times. This is was bothers me the most. What happened to honesty and integrity !Fowler did a horrible job, broke the sign on vehicle. Said they would do a full detail and send to AUTO IMAGE. I was told this 3 times. Called auto image, they said this is not TRUE.Auto Image was Honest! I thanked him. They must have done a quick 15 min clean, coffee on carpet grass and dirt still in car, lousy armorall, didn’t even wipe it off. WE bought 2 vehicles from them. Do NOT recommend going to FOWLER, any dealership!
There is extremely high pressure from the time you enter the lot. The biggest problem came after the sale. Be prepared for the ‘paperwork’ to take about 2 hours. They charge $300 to complete the paperwork. Our loan was approved before we went to the lot and our Credit Union was called while we were there and told them we were approved. So that was not a problem.
Then … we asked for a couple of things to be repaired. Was supposed to take 2 days but took one week.
I kept asking for the title, kept being told it was being sent. It was finally mailed a few days before the paper tag expired. When I still hadn’t received the title by Thursday, the 14th, I drove to the dealership and asked for an extended paper tag. Was told it was “illegal”. They said they “legally” had a right to take 30 days to get me my title. But I only have 30 days to change it over.???? Laws don’t overlap. We were told later that their average time getting the title to the new owner is 28 days. Both our credit union and the tag office said that Fowler is notorious for slow service.
The paper tag expired on the 17th (a Sunday), received the title on 16th (Saturday). On Monday, with an expired tag, I drove to the tag office. The title couldn’t be changed because the signature was notarized but not signed. Since I live 65 miles away, I couldn’t easily drive to Norman plus didn’t want to with an expired tag. Also, the metal tag was supposed to be left on the vehicle which I could have used. But they had taken that metal tag off. The tag agent said it is not a law that they have 30 days. They are supposed to leave the title asap. They are also supposed to leave on the metal tag. Anyway, the boss wouldn’t let someone come to me to correct their mistake, they wanted me to mail back the title to be signed, then they would mail it back. This process would be at least another week if there were no more glitches. I did not want to let go of the title again. Finally, the title clerk drove about 15 miles to meet me and sign over the title. I made the changeover and got my metal tag two days after the deadline. Total frustration, stress, etc. Be careful dealing with this dealership.

I purchased a truck on the internet From Chris Merit at Fowler Toyota. I spoke with him a few times about the vehicle he said it looked perfect like a new truck except there was a scratch on the plastic on top of the tailgate. He sent pictures and I was OK with the scratch. He seemed like a straight up guy talking to him over the phone. I told him I would take the truck if he included the shipping. Chris responded that that sounds good. So I sent the certified check for the amount agreed on. After Fowler Toyota received the check is when things started getting strange. The finance department called me and said they could not afford to ship the truck because they were only making $300 dollars on a $32000 truck. We all know this is not true. But at this point they have my money and I need to get a vehicle. So I said I will pay for the shipping. Then it got worse. But at this point they have my money and I need to get a vehicle. So I said I will pay for the shipping. Then it got worse. I received the truck and there was a baseball sized dent in the driver door, car lot touch up spots “that are poorly done”, and a rip in the interior in the back seat. Again, I contacted Chris at the dealership. First, Chris tried to blame these on the trucking company that he had arranged for shipping, then told me that he would see what he could do. He said the best he could do was send me a check to fix the seat for $85. I received a check. Only it was for $80. He admitted the dent was in the door but would not be willing to fix it or pay for it to be fixed. Chris Merit at Fowler Toyota misrepresented the condition of the vehicle and was unwilling to work with me on correcting the problems he sold me. It was a bad experience. I hope I help someone else out so they do not experience this disappointment. I would not purchase a vehicle again from Fowler
😡
The sales guy, David B., was great. The finance people are there to RIP YOU OFF. They made me wait for about 1 1/2 hours, and in retrospect I feel as if they did it simply to wear me down and make me sign anything to get out the door. It’s my own damn fault for signing anything when I was tired, but BE WARE — Do NOT agree to any additions to your agreed-upon sales price. The finance guy said, “For an extra $8 per month, you can get all this coverage.” He was LYING. It turned out to be an additional 35% over the sales price, and I feel as if I was totally screwed. I have a graduate degree, and I’m an intelligent person, but I was tired and felt like I was completely taken advantage of. I had bought three previous cars from Fowler, but it is NOT the dealership that it used to be, and I will NEVER return. The moral of the story is, do NOT believe them when they say it’s just a few extra dollars per month. They are going to rip you off and make you pay hundreds for extras that do not make a lick of difference in the quality of the deal — it is totally a case of “additional dealer profit.” I will never buy another car from them again, and they are no better than the slimiest bad-suit-wearing, corner-parking-lot, lemon-selling rip-off joints on this planet. FOWLER TOYOTA SUCKS!!!!!
THE SERVICE IS AWFUL. THE CAR WAS NEW BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS NOT KEPT CLEAN. THE CAR WAS NOT EVEN DETAILED BEFORE IT WAS SOLD. YOU COULD SEE FOOT PRINTS ON THE DOOR PANNELS. WHEN WE RETURNED THAT FOR CLEAN UP, SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENT AND THE RADIO PROBLEM, CAR CAME BACK, CLEAN BUT NOT ALL ADJUST MENT WERE MADE AND THE RADIO WAS NOT FIXED. EVEN NOW AFTER OVER TWO WEEKS STILL RADIO IS NOT FIXED. I HAVE HAD SERVERAL STATED TIME FRAM FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE RADIO AND SO FAR NON HAS BEEN RIGHT. I AM TO THE POINT THAT WHEN THE SERVICE REP TELLS ME WHEN RADIO MAY COME IN, I HAVE A FEELING THAT HE IS MAKING THAT UP. THAT MAY NOT BE TRUE AND PROBABELY HE IS DOING HIS BEST, BUT STILL THAT IS MY FEELING. NEXT TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING ON I-35 SOUTH I WILL TURN MY HEAD TO THE LEFT. YORK REFIRIGERATION BUILDING MIGHT BE A BETTER SIGHT TO LOOK AT:D???!!!
