I purchased a suzuki slingshot four months ago from super sales corporation, bhubaneswar after I got to know that it received the best bike award last year. But when I started using it, I came to know about the reality. Within fifteen days of my buying it, the disk brake started giving very unpleasant sound, as if the iron plate was constantly getting rubbed with something. I thought it was because of the accumulation of mud and sand on the plate. Even after splashing water there after every ride, the sound still persisted. The time came to go for first servicing. I took a day’s leave to go to the service center. There, I was made to sit the whole long day. I was told that the noise coming from the disk brake would go automatically. I returned but with yet one more problem. The mechanic(Pratap) might have done something to the frog because of which the racer started producing noise. I phoned him and he asked to take the bike to the service center the next day once again. I took one more day leave from the office. I reached there. He took the bike and made two circles around the office and concluded that every bike would produce noise there. I agreed and returned back but on the way back noticed that the handle had become extremely tight posing difficulty in taking turns. Two days after I learnt about the arrival of two service engineers and went there once again taking yet two more problems of ignition and chain. All that was done after much debate was that my disk plate was replaced, ofcourse I had to pay for the disk pads. Within fifteen days once again I faced the same problem. I took it there once again and got the entire disk system replaced after a thorough investigation by the service engineers. The supervisor Mr. Parija never hesitated to discuss about my faulty driving habits. He threatened that if it happened the next time, I would have to bear the cost. I showed to a mechanic near our house. He told that it was not wise to buy a suzuki bike because those kind of problems are going to continue always. But I believe those suzuki should appoint some efficient engineers who could relieve the customers of their problems, not to add to them. Even today the problems are there and I think it was a waste of money(Rs.54,000/= Approx.)
