CLOVIS – Serra sprinter Chimere Ezumah’s heart must have sank. Already disqualified for a false start in the 400 meters, Ezumah watched almost helplessly as Harvard-Westlake’s Amy Weissenbach overtook her in the final 100 meters of the 4×400 relay. Then there was a reprieve. The meet officials disqualified Weissenbach for cutting off Long Beach Poly’s Akawkaw Ndipagbor with 200 meters left, allowing Serra to take a backdoor to the South Bay’s only state title at Saturday night’s CIF State Track and Field Championships.
