Deshawn made our experience to buy the 2013 Toyota Highlander a pleasant experience. He always kept our interest in mind and had the utmost integrity of any salesperson we know. Toyota of Greer should count themselves lucky to have such a great salesperson.
This place is owned by the same slime ball that did this!

I would like to sincerely retract my previous review. The day after reviewing this dealership, my boyfriend and I received numerous calls from Toyota of Greer. They did not leave messages, or say what they were calling about. I called the following day, and was told that the person who called me was not at their desk. I continued to call back four times/leave messages, and this was from noon to closing. I did not hear back from anyone.
I was understandably shaken for two days until I heard something back. The last thing a young couple buying their first car wants to hear is that the financial manager from the dealership is calling. Finally, we got in touch with someone. We were told that my boyfriend needed to bring in a few pay stubs as proof of employment, and sign a few more papers. We just assumed it was because my boyfriend is so young, and makes a good bit of money. So, the bank wanted evidence regarding his salary.
My boyfriend took two hours off from work. Just barely long enough to get there, sign paperwork, get copies of his stubs and bank statements, and get back home. When we arrived we were sat in the middle of the dealership in front of five other customers. The financial manager walked off, and some man I’d never met approached me. He told us that he was the sales manager, and had some great news for us! He then told us that the dealership could not get financing for the used car we’d owned for over a week. The car, they let us drive home, sign paperwork on, and paid a down payment on. I was visibly upset. There are better places to do this aside from the middle of the sales floor. The manager then asked me “Why are you so upset? You’re getting a new car!” I really didn’t care about the new car. I was upset that I we were sent home with a car that they didn’t even know if we could have yet, and then lied to.
So, I swallow my pride and realize that we need a car, and underhanded or not, we had to take the new Corolla. The financial manager appears out of nowhere and hurries us into his office. They listed a quick list of colors verbally, and ask which we’d prefer. They didn’t show us the colors, or ask if we’d like to test drive the car. Just “Red, Blue, Black, Silver, or White?”
We selected blue initially, after being told it was the same color as our other car. We go outside to see it, and it’s obviously a navy blue, not the electric blue we’d had before. My boyfriend does the paperwork, and afterwards we discuss our disappointment and decide if we’re spending eighteen thousand dollars for our first car, we have the right to options. He goes back in, tells the financial manager, and he switches colors and changes the vin number on the paperwork. Our initial sales woman, Darlene, did not know that I was in the waiting area when she huffed by obviously exasperated by having to send another car to detail, cursing under her breath and shaking her head. My boyfriend was late back to work, and could have been fired if his bosses were not so gracious and understanding. If we were told ahead of time, we could have planned accordingly.
We went home, and everything was okay for a week. Then, every day we have a new call or voice message from our sales woman, or an automated machine urging us to review the dealership and sales person. This kept on for about two weeks.
Now, I probably would not have even mentioned all of this, if it were not for what is happening now…
The sales woman, Darlene, put the paper tag from our other vehicle onto our new one. That tag, belonging to a car purchased more than a week prior, is obviously going to run out sooner. I called on the third of September, it expires on the forth. I left three messages for the ‘accountant’ and there was no call back. I then called on the forth, twice, and finally she called me back. She said that she didn’t know why it’d expire on the forth, and to keep our bill of sale in the car in case we get pulled over. We initially thought it was an error on the calculation of days, until we realized what our sales woman had lazily done. Today is the fifth, our tag is expired, if we show our bill of sale to a cop, the dates won’t match up. I called again yesterday after I realized what had happened, and no one bothered to call back, even though it was two hours from closing. I called this morning, and she’s obviously there. She just didn’t bother to call when she came in. I’ve tried calling three times today. We’ve left two messages, one with the accountant, and one with the sales manager. It’s been over an hour, and still no word.
This place has been nothing more than a nightmare for us. I think the least they can do is provide us with a corrected paper tag, as I’ve already requested, and had been denied. That’s all I want, a freakin’ paper tag so I don’t get pulled over for their mistake.
Wonderful place to buy a car! Great service too!
The problem was not the salesperson. He was very nice and treated me with respect. The problem was with the finance department and the “higher ups” being dishonest and spiteful. I stressed the importance of my credit and that I did not want my credit ran through multiple finance companies. I wanted it to be ran through only once. I had 2 witnesses with me when I asked that after being declined through one company, “please do not run it through again” they were so eager to make a sale, the sales manager called me at home and asked if he could run it through Wells Fargo to get a better rate, I said “no”. 2 months later I get my credit reports and see that they ran me through 10 different finance companies, causing my score to drop 30 points because of multiple inquiries. If you care about your credit, NEVER go to Toyota of Greer
Bought this vehicle as a certified vehicle with maitenance plan with tire rotations, oil changes, and wheel alignments. We are on our 3.5 set of tires and they cannot explain why we have gone through so many sets of tires and we have the rotations and wheel alignments regularly, but the manager accused the driver being the problem! I am appalled, for I don’t drive fast nor hit pot holes and I only drive locally. They cannot give suggestions why the van is wearing tires so fast (meaning the outside walls becoming balded and tire wearing uneven!! Bought the car with 69,000 miles and currently have 122,000….that is only 54,000 miles for 3.5 sets of tires (14 tires) within three years! I labled my new set of tires with white nail polish to see how they rotate tires (FL, FR, BL, BR). The result was front left tire was rotated with back left tire and back left tire placed on front left ….rotated on the same side and not criss cross!!! If you google proper tire roation it recommends two of the four wheels to be criss cross rotated!!! The manager claimed that is Toyota recommended! Yeah right!! Looking at Firestone’s recommendations it recommends criss cross front to back!! I think they only rotate same side because it’s less time and work which doesn’t give even wear on the tires!! They take not accountability for the amount of tires we have gone through! We’ve already sunk in an additional few thousands of dollars on this vehicle for additional shop repairs and the “certified” wasn’t a true certified according to Toyota Corporate, because I was told that a true certified vehicle isn’t sold with missing grills, dents on roof top, old gum plastered in side door pockets, and chipped paint and needing repairs when buying it!! We are sooooo disappointed with our experience. Never had this kid of problems with Nissan or Ford dealerships and we never when through so many sets of tires within such a short period and very little mileage!! We have own several used and two new vehicles and NEVER experienced tire problems like this! Buyer beware!
Clarification: Toyota’s tire rotation policy per service manager states Toyota only recommends to rotate tires on the same side and absolutely no criss crossing, despite what is recommended by tire company or online by other professionals. Customer must request otherwise. WOW!!! They are not doing tire rotations correctly! I have a Firestone brochure that shows a diagram clearly that you are to criss cross two of the four tires. How is Toyota getting by with that? Ignorance of consumers is bliss for the company???
My husband and I went to Toyota of Greer just to know what the dealership would give us for our vehicles which where in excellent condition for a trade in on a new vehicle. We were so discouraged from other dealerships, (Honda, Ford, and Chevy). Toyota was our last and final stop. We did not plan on leaving there with a beautiful Toyota Highlander. But after test driving it, and getting wonderful ratings from the Consumer Report, and getting a great price for our vehicles and this purchase, we left there feeling that we finally found a dealership that was sensitive to our needs. Steve and Tom where not only perfessional in there sales, but where fervent in getting us what we wanted for our choice of vehicle. We have since done nothing but give great reviews of your dealership to our friends in the area. Keep up the good work guys. My daddy always said ” you get more bee’s with honey” and that’s exactly what you guys were all about. Steve and Tom, KUDOS to all.
Dennis and Simonne Cousins of Greer, SC 😀
My wife and I visited 5 dealers in South and North Carolina before going to Toyota of Greer. Not until then did we feel comfortable with a sales associate, until we met :DSteve Smith. He listened, did not put any preasure, and made us feel very comfortable at all times. He’s a true professional, and we purchased our RAV 4 Limited which we absolutely love, from Toyota of Greer, because of Steve.
Also, we received a great financing rate. :)Tommy Vidovich was extremely efficient and polite.
Kudos to Steve Smith and Tommy Vidovich !!

:mad::mad:I bought my vechicle from this dealership. Paid cash and the Finance manager told me that he was required by law to offer me maintenance programs, finance options, anything that would make them more money.
When I went back for a part that was broken they got the wrong one 3 times (oops). When I went in for service they tried to sell me on everything under the sun. My last and final visit was this week. I asked that my timing belt be changed. I was given a price of $298. The service tech recomened I chage th water pup also BECAUSE there would be NO LABOR charge. Then the Service manager called and asked if I had been given a price. Curious I said I had for the timing belt. He quoted me an outrageous price for the water pump saying they charged for labor to replace the water pump which would come off to get to the timing belt.
I lost it and asked how much they charged for a water pump – $165 ($122.00) at the Spartanburg dealership. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.
I tried to purchase a Chrysler Sebring from this dealership and I’m glad I didn’t. Apparently Steve Smith is the laziest salesperson I have ever seen (or not seen) He will not return your calls or answer your emails. How he got to be internet salesperson I don’t know. Do not do business with this buffoon!
I bought a 2008 toyota tundra from these guys. When I got home I wanted to take the bedliner out, underneath the bed liner the truck bed is destroyed. It looks like someoone has hauled bricks. The salesman told me the bed had never been used, attesting to the appearance of the brand new bedliner, that they had installed. The dealership refuses to do anything to help me with this. In addition, the tire pressure light is on and stays on. The salesman lied and said it was the spare tire that was low, but his guys did not get a chance to add air. I have since read throught the owner’s maunal and the spare is not even connected to the tire pressure monitors, this guy did not know what he was talking about. I now will have to pay to have this problem fixed (by another dealer). They only gave me one key to the truck and since the key has a micor chip in it, I will have to buy a spare at $50-$100 and there were no floormats in the truck and they would not include them. I should have never bought this truck and I would not recommend TOYOTA of GREER to anyone. Everyone I talked to there lied to me and my wife. I bought a 2008 toyota tundra from these guys. I bought a 2008 Toyota Tundar from there guys and basically I was lied to the entire time. They lied about the truck bed having never been used. The truck has a new bedliner and the salesman said the bed had never been used, but when I got home and lifted the bedliner the bed is destroyed. The paint is trashed and the bed is dented as if a load of bricks were hauled. The tire pressure light stays on all the time. The salesman says it is the spare tire and he could not get under it to pump it up. Turns out that the spare is not even connected to the tire pressure sensors and there is a problem with the system, which I will have to get fixed. They only gave me one key and I find out a spare key will cost $50-$100 because of the micro chip in the key. I have called and talked to the used car sales manager, Ty Goldman, who came across as a jerk who did not care. He said he could help with the damaged bed, but never returned my calls. From start to finish we were lied to. I do not recommend these guys and pity anyone who buys a car here.

I haven’t purchased a new car in about 5 years, and I wasn’t sure exactly how to approach the salesman. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly handshake and was made to feel at home as soon as I walked onto the lot. Mr. Culpepper di an outstanding job helping me make an educated decision on my new toyota. He knew everything about the car and gave me the best reasons for buying a toyota. I was shopping between the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, and after Mr. Culpepper’s help, the Toyota Camry was a NO BRAINER :D! Thank you David and the entire Toyota of Greer staff. Ya’ll are truly outstanding.
I hate shopping for new cars.:devil( I was told to call Michael by my mom who had just got her new toyota from Greer. Michael was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Thanks to Michael and mom for helping me get a great deal. I was able to call Michael and work the deal over the phone and he had my car and paper work ready when I got there. 😀
I had always wanted a toyota tacoma! Michael was so nice and helped me walk away with a great deal on my RED TOYOTA TACOMA. Thank you Michael Westmoreland and toyota of greer. Great place to buy, even better salesman to work with.:)
Purchased a 2007 Mazda CX-7 from this dealership. Noticed a ticking in the engine the following morning returned it, they said it was normal. I didn’t think so. Made an appt, dropped it off again, they kept it all day, gave me no responses over the phone, I went to the dealership after work and they said we can’t fix your car, it was sold as-is according to the USED CAR MANAGER. How is this possible, when the window sticker said it had a 30day warranty. This company is a joke, their warranty applies when it’s convenient for them. They don’t care about the customer. My opinion of the ordeal is that they should have repaired the vehicle before they released it for purchase by a consumer, they don’t stand behind what they sell !! I wouldn’t buy from them again !!
Went looking for a Minivan, everything was fine and asked for 24 hours to think about it before we finished. Salesperson and Sales Manager were fine.
Salesman called when the dealer opened in the next afternoon (Sunday) to see if we were still interested. I said yes but wife hurt her foot and was not able to walk well, could we get some questions answered over the phone on things like general finance terms, before we headed down to the dealership. He said he would try but that the finance department was busy so he didn’t know how long it would be. We waited then called back with a different quesiton, same responce busy come down it will be easier. Called a little later and talked to the Sales Manager and he said they had the car and we should come down to finish the deal.
Drove the dealership and found out the van in question was sold the day before (before we left the first time). Not only that they (including the finance manger were sitting around, not busy at all. We were lied to by the salesman and the salesmanager to the van we wanted to buy was in stock and asked to bring my injured wife down for a deal on a that might be there in a few days.
Don’t deal with these people. All they had to be was honest and say the van was gone, we told them it was our risk to wait. If he had started off on Sunday afternoon with the van is gone but the they can get another we would have waited a few days. I would have finished the deal the next time around but now I will never go back.
Be happy you did not buy from them. They are the most dishonest people out there. They quoted me one price one day and then the next day they changed everything to benefit them. Wasted 2 days with these guys and they ran my credit all over town after I asked them to stop running my credit. I reported them to the BBB, I suggest you do the same. My credit score went down 30 points due to the 10 inquiries from Toyota of Greer. I am currently speaking with my attorney.
Shay made a great recommendation that fit my budget and I put down a deposit that night and bought the next day. Great deal and did not waste my time. Thanks.
