The service people at Toyota North in Mt Kisco Ny are not only rude they are incompetent. I had a new short block needed on my engine (that I agree was totally my falt) however, they were so rude, nasty and judgmental I was horrified. The repairs came to 7,400 dollars (which I accepted) but the service was horrible. And I was old numerous in the nastiest tone that is what happens when you abuse your car. Then six different days they said my car would be ready and failed to mention the parts didn’t come in until The female service person told me. I needed 2 rental cars since I kept thinking my car was ready. Then after 2 weeks with my car I was told it would be ready the next day and got a call that day that my transmission didn’t and it would cost another 1,500 and take another week and he could care less about my ordeal with having no car for 3 weeks. Then finally after another week and repair that cost more then the car was worth I finally got my car back running. And of course they couldn’t even wash it. Then, that night when it got dark, I realized I couldn’t see anything. None of my front headlight and only and only 1 rear light worked. I almost got killed with mu 4 year old in the back seat. I went to Toyota fuming, which was the first time I lost control or even got an attitude. I told John Hunt after 7,400 and rude service you almost kill me and my son with no light. He told me to calm down and that he doesn’t have to do anything and the lights are probable out because I didnt take care of my car and it was in such as horrible state when it came in with 4 bald tires. I told him my lawyer husband was researching how to drag this through court just to make your dealership pay and John Hunt said ” I will welcome a lawsuit from you”. I was horrified not only is it statistically impossible for all the lights to go out at 1 time because they worked the night before I brought the are in but also they couldn’t check the lights after $7,400 and 3 weeks. They are suppose to check the lights if you get an oil change. At this point I would be willing to pay another 7,400 dollars to erase this experience from my memory. I will definitely serious research a dealerships reputation before ever buying a car because after asking around I find out this place is one of the worst for customer service even the Hertz guy was jagged from the service treatment. I will make it my personal mission to bad mouth toyota and this place.
Although Toyota North is always prepared for someone in need of service, we were shocked to see this vehicle come into the dealership in such horrific shape. The engine was knocking, the car could barely drive, there were 4 bald tires with cords coming out of all of them. The vehicle the customer brought in also had no oil in it and it was clear that the maintenance of the car was severely neglected.
We saw that we had a major job ahead of us, due to the lack of care for the vehicle in every way. The customer was given a price quote on engine replacement. After the engine was replaced, we did a test drive & noticed the transmission slipping. To ensure that our customer wouldn’t go into a potentially dangerous vehicle, we told her it needed some more work. She was upset that her car was not finished, so we explained to her that there were further problems with her car & we were working with Toyota to get her transmission repair covered by her warranty, so she can drive safely. She accused us of being rude, when we were just explaining that more work needed to be done in order to even make the car drivable.
We had success in getting her transmission problem covered & saved her $1,419.11 in additional repairs. Of course, none of this was brought up in her on-line posts. We kept in constant communication with her while working with Toyota to get the transmission repair covered, so she could SAVE money. After going above & beyond in service we called her to pick up the car and she left happy.
The next day, Toyota North got a call from the customer’s father saying we left her headlights disconnected. We told him to bring the car over right away & we will make sure everything is alright. Julie showed up raving & screaming that we intentionally put her and her child’s life at risk by sending her out with her headlights disconnected. She threatened us with lawsuits, went into the waiting room & started yelling at our other customers about us. Her behavior was uncalled for. We thoroughly checked her car & found that all the lights were indeed connected, her high beams worked, but her low beam bulbs were out. If she simply flicked on her high-beams, she would have had headlights. I presented her father with a service info bulletin that shows a concern with Prius headlights cutting out intermittently. We then replaced both headlight bulbs at NO charge to her.
We care about each & every one of our customers and do everything within our power to make sure they leave satisfied. The same holds true in this case. I’m not sure what we could have done to service this customer better as we went above and beyond in our service.
