On a preliminary phone conversation I told them (in no uncertain terms) I was coming down to buy a specific vehicle. Although I asked, they could not offer me a way to “hold” the car until I arrived.
Two and a half hours later when I entered the dealership, there was great confusion as to what cars were sold or available. To make a long story short, I was initially told that the vehicle was available. Then, after more confusion, another salesman “made the call” – I wouldn’t be getting the vehicle (I have many theories, let’s say they all have to do with $$$).
I know it’s possible a simple mistake was made with their inventory, but why didn’t they call me so I didn’t waste 5 hours of my Saturday afternoon?! Were they just getting me into the dealership so they could try to sell me… something (or was the car ever available)?
The other big problem was their attitude. It was MY fault… I was the problem. They were just plain cold.
To explain my ratings:
-I gave a 2 for “How were you greeted” since they had a nice receptionist (although I waited a while before anyone talked to me).
-I gave zeroes for “Honesty”, “Consideration of my time”, “Fulfilled promises”, and “How were you treated” because they couldn’t have been worse.
-I gave a 1 for pricing, because I was paying full MSRP!
-I gave a 3 for “Financing” because I didn’t have any financing issue… (there wasn’t a car to finance anyway since they gave it to someone else!)
I know there are some of you that are tempted to go down to Herb Chambers Toyota of Boston… don’t do it! All I can say is, you have been warned.
Good luck!
Please be aware that if you do business with Herb Chambers Toyota in Brighton you will regret it.
I have had several problems with my newly purchased vehicle and I have been trying to have them take care of it. They are extremely rude and dismissive. No matter what it is you have to go there three times before they fix it if they do at all. I voiced my concerns by phone and e-mail. No one got back to me. I finally got a response from a manager who said she’d look into my complaint and call me Monday. We spoke last Thursday. NO call! I do not believe I was treated fairly and I believe others will experience the same conditions if they choose to try and do business with them.:mad::mad:
