I was driving by when a vehicle caught my eye. After looking over the car (and no one came out to assist me), I went inside where I found the lone salesman sitting at his desk and apparently surfing on the internet (I could see his screen before I approached him). After almost a minute, he finally looked up and said with some irritation, “Do you need something?” I thought to myself, “Wow! I’m here to talk about your car and you ask me that?” I told him what I was interested in and he signed and reluctantly got up to get the keys. I asked if there was a problem, and he said, “Ummm….no, no, no.” He came back with the keys and said “Go look at it and tell me what you think.” I went out, looked at the car, and I like it. I called my brother to see if it was listed online anywhere and he found a listed price of $9,995. I went back inside where the saleman was back on his computer, and I told him that I was very interested in the car, that I had no trade-in, and that I wanted to know the price. He abruptly asked, “How’s your credit?” I told him that didn’t matter (although my score is between 750 and 775). He huffed and puffed, then said, “It’s $11,995.” I said that it is listed on line for $9,995, and he said, “Well….that’s the price without a trade.” I said, “I already told you that I DON’T have a trade.” He said, “Ummm….it must be listed incorrectly online at that lower price…..it’s $11,995….I might be able to knock off a hundred bucks or so.” I asked, “Is that the best you can do?” He replied, “Look, that’s what the price is….we have to make money….this is a business!” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
If I were you, I would avoid this dealership as they are blatantly abusing their pricing and god knows what else. Also, I would avoid the salesman (named Joe….he didn’t introduce himself, I had to grab his card before leaving). He is the prototypical scam-artist car salesman that is out for one thing and one thing only….to take as much of your money as he possibly can with no concern about ethics or morality. STAY AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP!!!!!
