It’s a dirty shame that people these days don’t have any respect for their elders. Never had such a poor experience trying to buy a car. My husband and I are in our late seventies, but we are not stupid. We know a good deal when we see it and there was no such thing in sight at Cocoa Hyundai. Shame on them for trying to pull a fast one on us.
It’s funny. You have literally hundreds of amazing reviews for Cocoa Hyundai all over the internet. But have you ever tried to leave a bad review on one of those other websites? You can’t! Trust me, I’ve tried. Websites like http://www.dealerrater.com have almost nothing but stellar 5 star reviews for this place, and after my experience, I couldn’t understand why. Now I do. You can’t leave a bad review on one of those websites because Cocoa Hyundai monitors them and is “partnered” with them. When you leave a bad review on one of those websites, Cocoa Hyundai gets a chance to look over the review and if they don’t like it, it doesn’t get posted! Wow! I mean really? Shame on http://www.dealerrater.com and the others like them. It’s no wonder there aren’t that many bad reviews for them out there. I’d guess for every 5 star review that Cocoa Hyundai gets there has to be at least two bad reviews that never got posted. Thank god for this website that I totally found by accident. As far as my experience, it’s pretty much spot on with the rest of the reviewers on this site. Poor customer service, terrible pricing, just overall total scumbaggery. And I’ll ask the same question that others have asked, How is this place still in business? Do yourselves a favor people, do not give these creeps the time of day.
I am on my third Hyundai, though a first from Cocoa Hyundai. I was supposed to get free oil changes for life at the Cocoa Hyundai Service Center. That is, until you refuse to pay the outrageous prices of there “Required” service. I went in for my usual oil change, and they mentioned that it was time for some regularly scheduled maintenance. I only had 14,000 miles on the car, and they wanted to charge me over $400 in tune-up and engine maintenance! I refused and they told me that if I didn’t pay them for the service right then and there, they would void my warranty. Are these people crazy?! I called the sales dept to let my salesman know what happened, and wouldn’t you know, he was fired months ago. I talked to the General Manager who was not only uncaring, but completely uninterested in doing anything about it. Then, as if it couldn’t get any worse, I called Hyundai customer support just to find out that they too couldn’t care less. Despicable! Do not buy a car from Cocoa Hyundai and do not use there service dept.
Bill, I want you to know that your feedback is very much appreciated. At Cocoa Hyundai, we continuously strive to improve as a business. I would like to extend my sincerest apologies for your recent negative experience. Delivering fantastic customer service is our top priority and I’m sorry that you left here feeling disappointed. I would like to speak with you about this issue so I can better understand it and apologize to you again.
Sincerely,
Ryan Posen – [email protected]
Just another average lot of money grubbing thieves. Nothing special. They show you what you want to see and tell you what you want to hear, until it’s time to buy. Then the extra fee’s come out and all of the sudden you’re buying a car for thousands more than the agreed upon prices. I would not recommend first time buyers to this place as they will most likely get raped. They started to back down a little bit with me when I started in on them, but in the end buying a car should not be so much of a hassle. Bought a Nissan from down the road and have been very satisfied.
CROOKS!
My experience was neither good or bad. I am looking for a very specific car with very specific options. Cocoa Hyundai did not have the car on the lot and was not able to find one anywhere in the state of Florida. Wayne was nice enough, but didn’t leave a stellar impression. I would be buying cash if I was to purchase a car from them, so I have no frame of reference for the finance dept., or any other dept. for that matter. I suppose I would return based on my first experience if they were able to get me the car I am searching for.
Cocky, arrogant, sons of b!tches. How are they still in business?
James was very nice and did a good job of explaining the history of a used Chevy Malibu that was on his lot. I got the price I wanted, but when I was talking to the finance manager, Brian, there was an extra $400 added in that he couldn’t, or wouldn’t, explain. I decided not to buy because something didn’t seem right, but James was not involved in that process and seemed very helpful.
Justin was very kind, at first, and seemed to be very interested in getting me the best deal he could on a new 2013 Hyundai Tucson. I guess the problem was that our definitions of a good deal were two different things. At 59, iv’e been around long enough to know how car dealers operate, and was well prepared for their first inflated offer so that I could talk them down to where I wanted the price to be. Or so I thought. I was looking at an SUV with a sticker of just over $27,000 and your starting (Best) offer is $29,800!?! I was expecting the first offer to be just under the sticker price, not way over it! What’s worse is the stubborn attitude that Cocoa Hyundai represents such a great service to the community that the inflated price is justified. Let me tell you something you little shit, no car on the planet is worth the sticker price, and unless you’re giving away free service for the life of the car, there’s nothing really special about you too! The best I could get out of that snot nosed little brat and his “Mystery Man” in the back was a couple of hundred dollars over sticker. OVER sticker! From that point on it was hard nosed selling or get out my dealership from Justin. So I went with the latter and would advise anyone reading this to do the same! Just read the other reviews here, I’m not the only one. Although a note to “Russell Tatum” down below, you really should have read the contract before signing anything. In your case, you were BOTH wrong.
I have young children, and I understand that they can be annoying at times. I did my best to keep them under control when I visited Cocoa Hyundai, but they don’t always listen. Having said that, I wonder if that’s the reason the sales guy seemed so hellbent on NOT selling me a car. This is not my first (or second) new car purchase, so don’t tell me that the best price you can give me on a new car is $2,000 OVER sticker. He could have just manned up and said that my kids were annoying and he didn’t have time for me, that would have at least sounded like the truth. But this “High Demand Car” bullsh*t is just offensive. isn’t the whole point of a sub $20,000 car affordablility? That knd of gets thrown out the door when you mark the price up by $1,000’s of dollars. Anyways, I bought a Honda from another dealership and couldn’t be happier with the experience.
How in the world can this place stay in business? They have the worst pricing on new cars I have ever seen. AND THEY DON’T CARE TO TELL YOU TO PISS OFF IF YOU’RE NOT WILLING TO PAY THAT MUCH!!! Maybe I caught the salesman on a bad day, but no customer should ever be treated with such a lack of respect. I’m not sure I would recommend anyone looking for a car to step foot in that place.
I accidentally must have checked yes to the purchase and recommend sections, those should say NO!
The absolute WORST experience of my life!! Run as far away from these crooks as possible! They are rude beyond belief, and are only interested in getting as much money out of you as possible. I HATE that I have done business there, and all they have done in response is make it worse. I was taken advantage of, yelled at, belittled, HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL IN BUSINESS?? I admit that it was my mistake when I signed the contract when I bought a car there (March of 2011). This was my first car purchase and I did not quite understand everything at the moment like I thought I did. I was shown the price of the car and thought that it was the final price (including tax, tags, etc..). Boy was I wrong. Those crooks sold me a car that stickered for $18,480, for a whopping $21,888!! They marked up the car $3,400 over sticker! When I discovered my error (the next day unfortunately) I confronted them and told them that I did not want the car and that it was too much. They could not have turned on me fast enough. Rude and belittling. Then, they had the nerve to keep asking that I give them a perfect score on the survey that I was to get from Hyundai. They said anything less than perfect and they fail. I gave them a very low score. Then they had the nerve to call me, yelling at me, to voice their disgust with the score. I told them to never contact me again and I called Hyundai Customer Support to file a complaint and try to get rid of this car. Hyundai says they won’t do anything; it is an issue for the dealer. The dealer says I shouldn’t have been stupid enough to do business with them. I am telling you, this is beyond what I ever thought was possible for a local business to do to a customer. Over a year later (now), and I am still trying to find someone at Hyundai who will take care of this situation, as Cocoa Hyundai has been very clear. COCOA HYUNDAI DOES NOT DISERVE THE BUSINESS I GAVE THEM! Help yourself and find a dealer that actually cares about you as a customer, not one that just sees dollar signs and tries to take advantage of you.
I am very happy with the level of service before, during, and after the sale. My salesman was very knowledgeable and thorough, even after I pulled out of the lot and ran into him at the service center months later. I left the dealership a few hours after arriving with the exact car I wanted. I recommend anyone interested in a new vehicle to stop by here first….I guarantee you won’t need to shop around or go anywhere else!
Cocoa Hyundai is notorious for misleading promotions that are either expired or half-baked when you arrive at the dealership. For example, their current promotion (Thanksgiving weekend 2010) reports offers to allow customers to purchase re-possessed vehicle. They sent flyers out stating that if you come in you can have a car for $75.00 a month and a chance to $25k with a scratch off card. I arrived at the dealership on the first day and at the beginning of the shift. The scratch off was a gimmick which I figured and the salesperson said to me all the repos were already gone. The salesperson then stated that they have given away $50,000.00 with the scratch off and this was astonishing to me since I was the third person to walk in the door and the two people before me walked out empty handed. Okay it is understood you want to sell cars to people but the bait and switch, slide of hand, tricky wording, and plain out right lies are not going to win some ones trust over to purchase from you. Hyundai is making a step in the right direction however; this dealership ever since it went from the father to the daughter is going down hill. The sales staff is morally bankrupt and should not be trusted to sell a fresh baked turkey to a family of starving Ethiopians. I want a Hyundai but I will not ever purchase or use the service of Coco Hyundai. Sorry the lying to get me in will keep me out and I would recommend others follow suite and spend money with those that provide facts and use plain upfront marketing to earn your business.
Shopped around online for a few weeks and negotiated back and forth with several dealers in Central Florida. I ended up visiting 2 dealers, one of them being Cocoa Hyundai.
Right off the bat I was made to feel very comfortable at Cocoa Hyundai, the sales people were honest and straight forward with me. Many dealers today don’t want to deal, but Cocoa Hyundai was willing to negotiate and give me a good deal, and they didn’t pressure me.. I was with my 2 small children and I felt comfortable the entire time.
The store is very clean, it’s an older building but located on 520/US1 so pretty easy to find and get in to. This place was very busy when I was there, but even though I drove many cars while I was there I never got that “hurry up” feeling you get from some salespeople when they think they are missing out on other customers. Very refreshing.
The bottom line is that I got a good deal and didn’t have to sweat to get it. I highly recommend Cocoa Hyundai and their internet department.
