I have been going to Clinton Honda for years to have my Civic maintained, but I noticed service has been slipping in the last year – things like not getting a call back when my car is ready for pick-up, the service department always finding something “extra” that “needs” to be done – my bill is always more than I’m initially told. This time I took my car in for routine maintenance – oil change, tire rotation, fluid changes. During the tire rotation the technician accidentally stripped one of the lug nuts, and Clinton Honda insisted on charging ME for it, although it was due to their carelessness. When I asked to have the charge removed from my bill (over $100), they told me: “I’m sorry, you’ll have to talk to the Service Manager, and he’s not in today.” So my options were to pay the bill, or go without a car through the weekend. (As it was they had my car for TWO DAYS.) It’s completely unethical and I’m disgusted. Going elsewhere from now on.
I visited Clinton Honda on a Saturday afternoon and I was approached by a salesperson and he asked if he could be of assistance. I told him that I wanted to test drive a CRV, and possibly a Pilot. He then asked me if I was here to purchase the car that day. I told him I was not prepared to purchase immediately, but that I would be purchasing a car very soon. He handed me his card and told me to call and schedule an appointment for a weekday afternoon, because he didn’t have time to take me on a test drive at any other time. I told him I work during the week and can only do this on a Saturday. He told me to go have a seat in the waiting area, and someone could come get me when they were available. After waiting patiently for an hour I looked around the showroom, and the salesperson and a couple of others were sitting around and chatting. I approached the salesperson and asked him if we could go for a mtest drive, and he said he had other customers coming in but maybe another salesperson would help me out. At this point I left. I’m never going back there.
Showed up at the service bay first thing in the morning (7AM) because the air cond on my honda odyssey not working and we plan a trip with the kids next day (van originally purchased at this dealer with extended warranty). Service rep informed us that they were busy and we would need to make an appt the following week to even begin to look at what may be the problem. we asked if they could simply take a quick look in case it was a simple problem – same answer, go away (and now in a not so friendly manner). We later stopped at a local garage (American Tire) and informed them of our problem to which they suggested to take a quick look to see if they could temporarily reso;ve the problem. Thirty minuted later we had our van blowing cold air – the srvice person explained that the freon was very low and they simply re-charge and will follow up next week to determine if there is a leak. Now where do you think that we got better service??
I will soon be in the market for another van and will now will think twice about purchasing a Honda and at the very least will not shop at this dealership – nothing worse than poor service!!!
I asked Tom to send me a written quote after my visit to the dealership. Promised he would. After 2 e-mails to Tom, 2 to Paul, and 2 voicemails to Paul, did not receive the quote as promised. Paul called back after 2 days, and asked that I call him back and he would give me a verbal quote (not what I asked for). I finally got a call from Tom – 3 days later, and said he would be sending the written quote. It was still not what I asked for (a breakdown). I finally gave up. Also, the service department does not offer loaner cars.
