Bought used 2009 Chrysler Sebring late in day 10/29/15. Salesman, Otis Bradbury promised to run a copy of Caefax prior to signing contract, assuring one owner – never provided and later I ran Carfax to find car had just been sold at auction. They took car into shop to inflate left rear tire and fix loose molding on convertible top – and encouraged us to drive home and have any issues taken care of promptly later. Assured that Chaparral stands behind their used cars by salesman and used car manager. Received letter from owner Freddy Gonzales, Sr. “I pledge to fix any problems or issues…promptly and courteously” “It is my intention to be certain that you are completely satisfied…” The right rear tire was severely low on 10/31/15 and we thought maybe kids had let out air as prank. Same tire continued to be low on air and car was brought in with less than 500 miles from purchase to have checked and I mentioned that the passenger door ajar light was on (Did not receive any serve quote or sign, believing that dealer would fix problem as promised. After waiting two hours I walked around service bay and noted that the car had not been serviced, even though brought in with appointment two hours earlier. Service manager went to check and said service was preparing a quote, which turned out to be $159.00 for broken tire pressure unit and $212.00 for door latch assembly. When I requested honoring delivery service guarantee, I was told, “You didn’t buy a service warranty, so dealer repair is not covered”(Very uncourteousand demeaning). They then presented me with a bill of $19.95 to check tire leak and $50.00 to check faulty door warning – although I had not been informed of any costs to check prior. I then found that I could purchase the faulty tire pressure sensor and have it installed for less than $40,00 elsewhere and that there was no problem with the door ajar warning as the push button was just iced due to the cold weather and frost in the morning. I called the service manager who promised to call back in two hours and left a voice mail for the owner Freddy Gonzales – with no return call. This dealership treats you great when you are buying, but has no intent on following up with promises of integrity and “Don’t worry – We will take care of any problems. Just bring the car back after you have taken it home.” They are friendly until a problem occurs and then are nasty and ignore you. I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau, due to the mis-diagnosis of the Door ajar issue. I would not recommend this dealership to any buyer or for any service.
