Bought a 2015 Jeep Wrangler sport there about a month ago. The salesman told us that he would throw in the blu tooth to finish the deal. We were very happy with this and went to financing. Once in financing I realized that the blu tooth was not in writing, and when I asked to get this in writing they told me I would have to add the 595 onto the price of the car. Needless to say this added 4 months of payments to our new Jeep. I should have backed out but I did not because the fiance was in love with the car.
3 weeks later brought it in to install the blu tooth and they installed a crappy aftermarket one. Our brand new Jeep has an ugly speaker above the clock now. Nothing what we expected. Mopar did not even install it, they called someone else to come in and install it. They called him a “tech.” I saw in the back of his truck the invoice to our blu tooth and it only cost Bayside 350 dollars to put it in. Bayside made out with extra money and we get an aftermarket, ugly blu tooth in our brand new Jeep. Thanks for nothing.
They lie to get you into financing and then push the sale from there.
Don’t buy from them.
There are not enough bad things that I can say about this dealership. There are not enough curse words I could scream to utter my feelings. There are not bad enough words in the English language to describe how horrible this dealership is.
They conned me out of my money. They lied straight to my face. They confused my Registration with another cars’ they sold the same day and I got arrested for “grand theft auto.” They took a full payment on parts and labor for a part that was on backorder, and when it came in they never called me. They told me that I would have a protection plan that they would buff out and remove all dents and scratches every six months which never happened. They told me it was a new car when it was a used car. They told me the first three service appointments would be free which they were not.
They are by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with, and a dealership that truly gives a bad name to car salesman everywhere. I wish that this place went out of business. I wish that the owners go to jail.
DO NOT BELIEVE GOOD REVIEWS, THIS PLACE IS A SCAM, THE OWNERS ARE CROOKS, AND THE SALESPEOPLE ARE LIARS!!
Trust the gut instinct you have about this place, DON’T GO.
…and I had the Owner as a Salesrep.
I have to say, this was the worst experience of my life working with Bayside Chrysler Jeep to purchase a vehicle. I must also say their customer’s satisfaction is not a priority. They work harder on the” LIES” and the “SHUCK AND JIVE” mentality. I worked with a salesman named Kevin, and later his supposed sales manager.. Nelson. I spoke to Kevin numerous times leading up to the purchase of my vehicle.
I asked specific questions about the condition of the vehicle, previous owner mileage and general condition. I never received the same answer when I would ask the same question a little differently. At this point my gut feeling was saying ” stay away these people are liars” I should have taking my own advise. They will tell you anything to get your hard earned money out of your pocket. I let my guard down and now I have to live with it. Liars Scammers and Thieves!!!
If somethings wrong with the car,and theye won’t fix it, you can sue them with regards to the lemon law. That’s what i’m doing. I don’t know how they can live with themselves being crooked to everyone who walks through that door.
These guys are unbelievable, they really are. How they can sleep at night, knowing the lies they tell, and what they try to do, is really one for the record books.
I hope one day some undercover reporter goes in there and sees for himself what con artists these guys are, and does a “shame on you” type of story and exposes the whole operation. I told 2 guys I know who went there (one walked out in 10 minutes) to bring a lawyer to go through the deal, then an accountant when you sit down to finalize the deal, cause otherwise you will be had.
The place needs to be exposed for what it is.
What car/suv? New or used? I stopped in this weekend and had mixed feelings as well. Thanks in advance.
Richie, forget it. The minute someone walks in the games begin, you know it, and it will never change. Ladies and Gentlemen, stay clear.
I am looking to buy a new Jeep grand cherokee. I went in and I was shown the cars in the rooftop of the building. My salesperson was nice but every time I asked a question about a certain car he didn’t seem to know the answer. I did see car that liked but I wasn’t ready to buy just yet. He told me that other people have seen the car and that I would be wise to put a deposit on it…WTF To my understanding is dealership isn’t that the point, people come in and look at cars…lol
After reading all the comments here, I think that I have made the decision not to buy from them. Thank you all…..
I’M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY. BUT IF YOU SOMEHOW DECIDE TO COME BACK, I WILL PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT ONE OF OUR VETERAN SALESPERSON CATERS TO YOU, OR ONE OF OUR MANAGERS CAN PERSONALLY HELP YOU OUT.
SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
Did you wind up purchasing/ leasing your Jeep somewhere else? If so, please let us know where and if you would suggest it. Thanks in advance. I went in over the weekend and while there were many customers in there it did feel a bit like spring break.
I did. I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2008 from Jeep Cental Ave, Yonkers. I traded my old Jeep Cherokee, which I was surprised because my baby had 253,000 miles. I drove off the lot the same day. I love my new Jeep……
Stay away from this place. It is filled with sharks that will tell you anything to get your butt in a car, and if you are not on guard, you will get ripped off, it is that simple.
Make sure you are getting what you want before signing the contract, and ask how long the loan is for. Am I getting what I ordered in the car from the factory and not after market? Before you leave, read over the whole agreement and don’t buy into the rush game, it is just part of the scam.
I thought this would be a reputable business, apparently I was completely wrong. When I walked in, I guess they didn’t take me seriously that I was buying a car since I look so young, and they gave me the reject salesman. The Jeep I looked at seemed to be in great condition considering it was used and almost 10 years old, it even sounded fine when I drove it off the lot for a test drive. But apparently I was wrong about that too. The salesman didn’t know what was going on, he seemed reluctant to answer my questions and wouldn’t even give me a carfax. He tried avoiding all questions by saying he’d be right back. I was in a tight situation and needed a car asap for a job offer that required a car, the following week. After a couple days of having it, I started hearing a noise coming from under the hood. I made a date to bring it in to my mechanic, but the car broke down before I got a chance to bring it in. I had to have it towed to the dealership’s service area. After having it for 5 or 6 DAYS, they FINALLY looked at it and told me the entire engine needed to be replaced, and that they were waiting on the part. I was promised it by the following Wednesday or Thursday, which means they’d be having it longer than me so far, and me STILL without transportation since they refused to give me a car in the meantime. When I tried calling a few days before it was supposed to be ready, I kept getting hung up on, or told I would get a call back, but never did. When I finally reached someone on Tuesday, they told me now it would be 3 weeks to 3 MONTHS before they’d even get my engine in since now it’s on BACKORDER! They said they’d try to put a rush on it, but I’ve worked at a car parts distributor/remanufacture place before and I know that doesn’t mean squat. I did research online and found other places do have the engine in stock, which if they want to keep the customer happy they’d just buy it from one of those places instead of telling me they could have my vehicle for up to 3 MONTHS. No one will help me and they just keep giving me the run around. At this point, I was advised to take them to criminal court if they don’t give me my money back when I go there in person this week. Don’t believe anyone who gave this place more than one star, they probably work there. This is the worst car experience of my life. Save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE BUT HERE. And learn from my mistake, research a place first and get your own mechanic down there to look at it before buying.
This is Sal, the general manager at Bayside, you can contact me for any future service needs for the 2002 Liberty. If there is anything I can do over and above contact me on my cell 914-715-1247.
You really need to get a “good” sales person… i feel really bad that i leased my vehicle from bayside jeep.
there were only lies and scams on the deal… and lazy sale person too!!!
I am writing this review in hopes that someone else will NOT make the same mistake I did. All the reviews about this Bayside Chrysler Dealership is accurate. DO NOT GO!!! I went in recently to lease a liberty Jeep. At first everything seemed to be going well. I even went on a test drive. Even though my salesperson, Richie seemed genuine and not pushy, I didn’t want to sign anything until I checked out other dealerships. However they were so desperate to have me either sign or put a deposit on the deal that they started offering me features they initially said they couldn’t. They threw in the “pop” group, the leather seats, and a $100 gift certificate to any restaurant. My sister who went with me told me not to but the deal seemed too sweet to pass up so I made a deposit of $500 on my credit card. Two days later I went to pick up my car and saw that they were trying to push a different car on me. I called them on their dishonesty. Then this really rude manager got involved and told me that my car was acutally on its way from Belmont. Lies and more lies. At this point they had lost my trust. I didn’t want to do business with them anymore. I asked them for a refund which they said they would do if the leather seats had NOT been installed and the leather had not been installed But they never issued a refund. They had me wasting my time for one week back and forth from their place in hopes of making a deal with me by withholding the refund. Thus the promised refund never happened and I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. For those of you who had been taken advantage of I advise you to contact the headquarters of JEEP. Tell them the horrible tactics these people use. They couldn’t get my refund back but they did offer me 2 years free oil change if I still bought a JEEP. This is a lesson learned.
I brought my car in for a recall.
I called before I brought it in.
The person answered the phone did not look it up so that they could tell me I did
not need the recall. So I brought the car in got on line when into the dealership,
then I was told my car did not need the recall.(person lokking this up took 30 seconds).
The person that answers the phone she tell you if you need the recall or not before
you bring your car in.
I was late for work and I made my mother late all because I was not given the
correct information on the phone.
:devil(:devil(:devil(:devil(:(:(:(:(:(:(
Bayside Chrysler & Jeep is the worst encounter I have so far had with a car dealership (even worse than Major World- and I didn’t even think that was possible!!)
I went there after speaking with them over the phone (numerous times because I was shopping for a SPECIFIC color on a Limited 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee) and being told that they did have my color in stock in exactly the feature package I wanted, I drove there in pouring rain, a 45minute drive from my home. When I got there I was greeted with smiles by salesperson Matt, who was courteous enough, and showed me around. LO-and-BEHOLD… they did NOT have the vehicle I wanted in stock and instead proceeded to show me and PUSH on me what they had. When I asked why they would tell me they have the car but it was not there, they claimed that they have a “Lot at the Belmont Race Track” where they keep vehicles that they could not fit into their showroom or rooftop (as the lot is on the roof of the building). I was about to leave when Matt intoroduced me to Monty, who said he could get me my specific color in just 2 days. I said ok and we sat down at the table to start a negotiation on the package I wanted. After coming to a final price, Monty left me and came back about 15minutes later, stating that they absolutely could not get me my color but they were willing to offer me a deal on the color they had in stock. I reluctantly went back to the roof to inspect the car they were trying to sell me (which did not have the entertainment system, or the V8 engine which I wanted) I was upset but since time was of the essense for me to obtain a new car (my current lease would expire within 2 days), I agreed to take the color & package they had available.
MONTY and I again started a new process of price negotiation. This is not my first time getting into a new vehicle, (I’ve had already 5 leases in the past) and since I’d been burned the first couple times I knew EXACTLY the questions to ask to avoid any future “misunderstandings.” After about 45minutes of haggling back and forth, and I even got up to leave a couple of times when Monty called me back and tried to make the deal even sweeter so I would not leave, finally I came to a decision to take the vehicle. I would take the color & package that was offered to me for the price Monty offered me. When I said to Monty I was ready to sign up, he stood up, walked away to the desk at the front of the showroom, and after about 5 minutes he came back with MIKE who he introduced as the MANAGER, and then Monty walked walked away and Mike sat down at the table. Right away I knew something was up.
Mike then started to talk to me about “times are hard” and “he’s raising his 2 kids, trying to keep food on the table” and a bunch of garbage. I cut him short (as I had been there for about 2 – 2 1/2hrs already) Basically what MIKE was beating around the bush about – I stated up front that I wanted a 36mt lease/12K miles per yr, which Monty agreed to.. (get ready for the BS here) Mike now said there IS NO SUCH THING!! (WTF)
However, he could offer me a 48mt/10Kmiles or a 60mt/10Kmiles lease!!!! And The price Monty offered me was about $200.00 per month off the ACTUAL price!! Instead of $650./mth, it would actually be more like $850./month (Double WTF!!)
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Why would you keep me here for over 2 hours and simply WASTE my time!! And what was this business about a 36mth lease being non-existent!! At this point I became so incredibly furious!! Not only did they decieve me to get me out to the shop, lying to me from the start over the phone, but after All that time, I was simply brushed off by Monty and passed on to Mike who said Monty made a “mistake” with his price quotes!! When I said I needed to speak to Monty right away, somehow nobody could find him for me.. hmmmmm.. I got really upset and I kept asking Mike how can they waste people’s time like that. And he got really angry, I guess because I didnt just shut up and leave, but as I’ve said I’m not new to buying cars, and didnt appreciate them completely wasting my time. When I would not leave without speaking to the now elusive Monty, Mike said to me in a loud angry tone ” Listen!! I already told you he made a mistake! We cannot give you what he offered! Either you take my deal or leave!”
You know, one good thing through all of this is that I did not allow Monty to run my credit application until I was completely satisfied with the offer (Thank God for that).. but they simply played games. This all made no sense whatsoever to me. I am a serious customer. I drove 45mins out of my way to go there, through the pouring rain, and even agreed to take the car they had in stock. So why not sell to me????
And FYI… I was able to get my V8 2011 JCL from a different dealership a few days later fully loaded, 36mth lease, 12K miles per year, and even less $$$ monthly than the “deal” at Bayside.
I’m assuming the good comments posted here are comments by employees of the dealership (how pathetic is that) I would NOT recommend anyone shop at Bayside. I’m actually very grateful things worked out the way they did and I did not get my car from there. They are nothing more than incompetent, unprofessional ruffians. Do Not Patronise This Business. You Will Only Be Hurting Yourself In the Long Run.
Brought car in because of a ruptured lower radiator hose. Left car there and was given no paperwork. Got a call 2 hours later telling me the repair would cost $375.00!!!!
I told him to forget it and I’ll just pick up the car. He then told me there was a $200.00 diagnostic charge.
I negotiated down to $300.00 for the repair and will never ever go there again.
THEY ARE THE WORST!!!!!!
ready to go to war! driven my car less than 7k its been in their shop 5 times already! my alternators shot and when i step on the gas it sounds like a wind -up car. my 1800 warranty covers absolutely dick. i have to work an extra day to pay this shit box off but at least i get to come home and look at it. seriously cant even drive it. this is the beginning of my conquest to get these crooks off the map. worst mistake of my life by far! in order to keep me calm they keep sending me to another jerk-off in their shitshowroom to try to appease me. ive had enough of them and if you walk through their front doors you might as well go to a whorehouse. either way your ****ed!
Simply the best sales and service experience I ever had at a car dealership. I brought my vehicle in for service 3 months after I bought my new Jeep. I love my Jeep and when I brought it in for the free oil change they even cleaned it for me. I love Bayside Jeep and I will always buy my cars from them. They are the best!!!
You’re clearly a liar.
We went in to buy a brand new car. The owner Alan and salesperson Jerry are both lying scammers!!! We agreed on a price and when I went to sign the financing forms, Hector their financing guy gave me the form to sign with the top of the form folded over, covering the amount, and said “just sign here”. I unfolded the paper and the financing price was $2K more than what we agreed upon!! Finally after going back and forth and walking out, Alan said “ok, I’ll give it to you for that price but know I am not making any money off of this” (such a lie!) We come back the next day to pick up the car and its a different car than what we paid for the day before, a car without the options we had paid for in their attempts to make up for the money they “lost”. Unbelievable! Obviously we broke the contract but to add insult to injury, a man at the front desk (Sal?) starts bad mouthing me saying that “we wasted their time” (after they wasted two days of my holiday vacation) and that we are “too cheep to pay for options we want” (options we HAD paid for). Don’t waste your time at this place. People like these are why car salesmen have such a bad name!!
Brought my 2004 Pacifica to this dealership and will never deal with them again. In fact I will drive 100 miles to another dealership if I have to. I brought my car in as I recieved an “urgent reacall notice” from them and I had a thumping noise coming from the front end. Well I left the car there and went home only to get get a call several hours later informing me of “their findings”. You need a tune-up, fuel injectors need to be cleaned, 2 front tires, 2 front shocks, front brakes and 2 tie rods all for only $2,400.00. I informed them that I had the brakes replace a month ago and the tires are only a year old. I also have an extended warranty that I purchased for this car. Only the shocks are covered. The car is garaged and has 62k miles on it. I take care of this car. Use only synthetic oil. Car is mint as that’s how I keep it. 1 1/2 years ago had a new transfer case put in and a steering unit put in ( all covered by the warranty). I have always owned only Fords and will never purchase a Chrysler again nor will I ever have any dealings with this dealership ever again. The guy at the counter said “well you know you do have 62k on it”. That is some crap. My co-workers Hyundai has 250k on it,well maintained uses it to comute to and from Pa. to NYC 5 days a week. Bayside Chrysler you lost a customer and I wouldn’t recomend this place to my enemy.
First off, the porters either do not speak English or choose not to communicate with you. After attempting to ask 4 porters for the key to my car to retrieve my registration for the clerk I had to physically stand in front of one in order to prevent his escape. Once I asked him for my key he told me to find my car and get the ticket number, then find him and he will get the key. Excuse me? I don’t work here, YOU do. (Not to mention he apparently parked my car in front of a pump, I wonder who would have paid that ticket. I left the car there and had to take the bus for almost an hour because this dealership does not offer loaners (ghetto dealership, trust me it matches its employees). After I talked to the clerk he told me that if the issue is not covered under warranty he would have to charge me a minimum diagnostics fee of $200. I said ok no problem. When I got back they told me they couldn’t find the problem and the vehicle was fine, therefore I need to pay them $200. LOL, WHAT? There was nothing wrong with the vehicle so I was forced to pay them for no services rendered. I spoke to the manager and all he said to me is “not my problem” and he shrugged his shoulders like he was 12. They settled for $100, they took 15 to look at my suspension and told me that there was nothing wrong, so I owe them $100.I own a $35k Jeep, under warranty, and unless the entire thing is falling apart I must pay in order for these people to look at it. Congratulations Bayside Chrysler Jeep Dodge, you stole $100 bucks that day, but you lost a customer for life.
I don’t know why it says I gave this dealership 3 stars, I gave it 1’s accross the board. This is the worst dealership I have ever visited.
