I recently purchased a used car from them a Lexus 470- the entire staff treated my fine and with respect & made the whole car buying process as stress-free as possible. I really was made to feel like a “valued customer”. But i think that was to get me out the door with a car that issues after buying a $20,000 + car you kind of expect not to be replacing radiators, timing belts and the like, steering that shakes over 65 MPH only to be told let the buyer beware. I will not recommend them to any of my friends in the future & if the need ever arose I definitely would not purchase a car from them in the future!
went into dealership looking at a vette there. it was a black 02 had decent miles but lot of cosmetic flaws that they didnt care to fix including wheels that were completely pitted and ruined. told them i could deal with this for the right price. told them i was looking at another vette at another dealer near by that was an 03 gray 50th anniversary with 15k more on it but it was in great condition. i told them the price and offer on my trade thinkin they would come in alot lower but they offered me 1000 less on trade and 1000 more on there vette. they tried to tell me being a black vette made it beter resale and also that the other vette being 50th anniversary was nothing. these guys tell you they know cars and say dumb stuff like this.they said they could get 20 at auction so they couldnt go lower so i guess these guys just wanna sell cars to other wholesalers instead of customers. after calling me back into dealership they offered me a lousy 500 off. these jokers are by far the worse sales people ive talked to and this guys owns the place. dont go there for a car youll only get a run of bs.
If you plan on buying a used car at DeFelice, beware. We are looking for a Subaru Baja for our son. We saw an Internet ad and called DeFelice. Point Pleasant is more than an hour away from us. We braved the traffic one Friday and drove there to check out and test drive the car. When we got there, an annoyed Clayton Webber advised us that it was 20 minutes to closing time. It didn’t matter to him we drove 90 minutes to get there. We quickly did a test drive and were told that “we should check the Internet as the price may be lower.” A few days later we saw the price was lowered $500. By e-mail I told Clayton I think we had a deal but I would like a warranty. He gave me his best price on a 3 year GMAC warranty of which I told him I needed to check with my local Subaru dealer to see if they accept it.
Due to vacations and such, it took 3 weeks before I finally got everything resolved with my Subaru dealer, which wound up with an offer for a 4 year Platinum Subaru bumper to bumper warranty for $100 more than Clayton’s “discounted” 3 year GMAC warranty. During that period Clayton NEVER once e-mail me or called to see how things were going.
Yesterday, I e-mailed Clayton to tell him I would not need the warranty. I was advised that they sent the car to auction but he could get it back IF I BOUGHT THE CAR NOW. I asked what the price was since I did not need the “discounted” warranty and was told, same as before. I told him he has not seemed very motivated to sell me the car and could not believe he did not contact me before going to auction. I went online and found that the price had been lowered ANOTHER $500. THIS CREEP WAS TRYING TO SELL ME THE CAR $500 MORE THAT IT WAS LISTED AFTER ALL THIS. When I asked him why it was being listed online at $500 less than the price he just gave me, I was curtly advised that the car was sold at auction.
I e-mailed the owners to tell them what had gone on. My wife called the dealership and spoke to another sales man who told her the car had not been sold at auction and they could get it back if I wanted the car. I received an e-mail from Ed Defelice saying this is the first he had heard of this and would check it out and would try to get me the car.
An hour later I received an e-mail from Ed saying the car had been sold at an auction in PA for more than they were listing it at and he would speak to Clayton about this.
If you plan on buying a used car at DeFelice, keep on your toes. I wouldn’t buy a hubcap from these guys after this.
I just got an e-mail from the owner trying to resolve this issue.
His resolution was to say, it was sold at auction and he would speak to the salesperson.
Thanks for nothing. These guys give used car salesman on the side of a road a good name.
