Started off with vehicle priced greater than retail price so I assumed there would be room on the price. After a quick test drive and a review of my trade in I was asked if I was ready to buy now. I said probably not, but I wanted them to give me their best deal that I could compare with one other truck I needed to look at. If at the end there’s was the best deal I would buy it.
They had me sit around for 15-20 minutes while they discussed it and came back with the same price for the truck that was marked on it outside and an fair amount for my trade in vehicle. I told them the price on their vehicle was too high at above retail and I thought they could do better. They insisted they could do better but would not discuss anymore pricing unless I was ready to buy now. I said no, I wanted to know the best price now and would be back if I wanted to buy the truck. They said give me another minute and we waited 5-10 more minutes for him to come back with his business card with a number on the back that was what the difference would be (couple hundred dollar difference from before). When pressed for what numbers where for his truck and what was for my car he would not discuss it unless I was willing to purchase today. (I am also selling my car privately and had not committed to trading so the actual numbers matter to me).
Had this not been the second time in three years I had given this dealership a chance and been treated the same way both times I might not have posted a review.
Lesson: do your homework before visiting the dealership because they will try to sell you an overpriced vehicle and push you to do it that day. Since looking elsewhere I can save thousands on similar vehicles and will never visit this dealership again. There are plenty other “good guys” to work with.
