I recently took my Malibu with an aluminum V6 DOHC into Ross Downing Chevrolet for service. I told Assistant Service Manager Mike Terry that it had overheated, and that it has a blown head gasket. I was convinced of it. Mike is a mechanic, who specializes in the internal workings of the combustion engine. He knows his stuff. He listed a bunch of tests he would like to do on the car, but I knew it was a blown head gasket. I asked how much it would cost to repair the head gasket. It could run into the thousands of dollars. I cannot tell you my relief when Mike called me the next day and told me it was only a loose wire, and I was only charged for the corresponding diagnostic tests which were performed. Everyone I have dealt with at Ross Downing is very nice, and I can now confirm their service department is honest. You can trust them for an honest evaluation of your car’s problems. I do. My faith in Chevrolet is renewed.
LADIES! Do NOT trust this company. They completely took advantage of me. I had a friend that was a salesman there, so I went to him to buy a vehicle. The used car sales manager, Steve Olave, charged me $2,000 more than what my salesman and I discussed. My salesman had NO CLUE! Unfortunatly, because I was so trusting of my friend, I didn’t think to question the paperwork and see the error until a month later. The manager, Steve, was a complete jerk and refused to correct his mistake- even though I had the texts from my salesman telling me the cost of the vehicle. DO NOT buy here!
I made the mistake of purchasing a used vehicle without having an inspection prior to purchase since the dealership would not allow which was against my better judgement. But I was promised that they stand behind their products (YEAH)! I’m paying for it as there were a number of issues discovered immediately following an inspection by a reliable, experienced and authorized BMW service center. I was fooled into believing that ROSS Downing dealership would address at least one of the many issues. Instead my vehicle was there for 4 days and NOTHING was done. It took me that long to finally be able to get someone to find out the status of the vehicle which I was informed that the vehicle once again passed their inspection. Which meant we didn’t touch your vehicle at all. So why is it that I’m having work done that their service department did not identify. The funny thing is that I actually had two separate independent inspections but Ross Downing service department didn’t find anything wrong. BEWARE… I would suggest that when purchasing a used vehicle use a REPUTABLE Dealership instead. I wish that Price LeBlanc had something because my experience with them was totally different. They allowed me all the time I needed to have the vehicle inspected because they didn’t need to hide behind falsehoods and they stand behind a solid REPUTATION. Through an independent inspection the vehicle was found to have possible transmission issues- they apologized as the vehicle was on their property only a few hours prior to my visit and they did not inspect.
Would never use this dealership again. Transmission went out at 35,000 miles. They said it would cost $3100.00 to replace it when in fact they never replaced it. Very deceptive.
Just got an oil change. Michael outlined the recommended services I needed at the mileage my vehicle was at. No pressure to do any of them at that point. But when asked he told me which he would recommend doing 1st, 2nd and 3rd as to spread out the expense. I decided to do the first suggestion that day and he quoted 1 more hour to complete and it was done in 30 minutes.
