My experience with Diver Chevrolet have been nothing but excellent. Initially I had to work with the service department regarding my trade in. Everyone I spoke to, and in particular Steve, was courteous and very helpful. Drayson Burns in sales was terrific, he was on top of things from the moment we took the first test drive until I walked out the door with my new car keys. When the upper management was willing to get involved to iron out some issues with my trade in and the paperwork that went with it, well I think that just goes to show why they’ve been in business for so long. I am thrilled with my 2011 Cruze, thank you Diver Chevrolet!
Over the years I have dealt with a lot of car dealerships. When Diver’s was recommended by my daughter, who had a wonderful experience, I went over to give them a try. They are wonderful. No hassle to buy. They give you fair pricing right up front. I like that. I don’t like to haggle over price. Chris is always warm and welcoming and I feel comfortable with him and trust him. Diver is a wonderful dealership that I have recommended to my family. Thanks Chris for your help and I love my 2011 Cruz!
The only thing I can say about the previous reviews is that I had a completely different experience. I bought a pre-owned car from Diver and could not have been more satisfied. There was no pressure to buy right away, their prices blew away anybody else in the Philadelphia/Wilmington metro area and their level of professionalism far exceeded any other car buying experience I have ever had. They understand the lifetime value of a customer and I just became a Diver customer for life.
Horrible experience’s at both the new and used car lots. I met the previous owner of this dealership once and he was a very nice gentleman. He told me at that time he wasn’t running the company anymore, that he is retired now. Well, it really shows with the new ownership. This place is very bad now, especially the used car lot.
My wife, baby (waiting in car for me to get assistance) and I were treated in a very snub and aloof manner. Just to be clear, this is the first review I have ever written about any business. But our experience was so bad I felt compelled to share and protect the public from going through what we did.
Shame on you Diver (current Diver)! Folks, do buy a GM vehicle, do not buy it from Diver. In this economy the one good thing we should get out of it is reasonable service. If we are not spending money, when we actually can afford to we should get good service…

I dropped off my 2009 Chevy Trailblazer on January 11, 2011 for service on my satellite radio. After accruing $300 worth of service charges, I was told that the service department could not diagnose the problem. Meanwhile, I spoke with Audio Works in Newark, DE (they had installed an ipod converter over a year ago on recommendation of Porter Chevrolet) & was immediately told that all that had to be done was to disconnect the battery to reset the radio. I then informed the service department. This worked. However, I received absolutely NO consideration from the
service manager @ Diver. I explained to him that I keep my vehicles for a long time & I would be a great long term customer for Diver. This did not mean anything to him. As a result of how I was treated at Diver I will not be returning or recommending that dealership to anyone.
Beware of diver they are full of lies and promises all they want is your money. I bought a 2007 silverado 1500 from them gm certified and the oil filter came off what did they do about it nothing but lies again. I had to get it towed home and the rotors were bad on the front but it had passed all the gm inspections they said that was a lie. I took it to my local gm dealer and got them to check over the whole truck. money i am going to have to pay out of my pocket. plus i bought the extended warranty from them they don’t care nothing about you period. they will be getting their court notice real soon i would never ever buy nothing from them they are crooks and liers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the used car sales man name mike is a bull shitter from the gate. He also is a dam big lier dont buy shit from him after he sells you a car and a bunch of promises he will not do shit but lye to you. their certified cars and trucks are not gm certified. I bought a 2007 silverado from them that they said it was certified and it was not. the oil filter fell off of the engine. I called mike and he just gave me a bunch of bull shit about it. they will be getting they court notice they are the crooks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:
On March 5th, 2010 I responded to an internet ad for a Certified GM used car being sold by Diver Chevrolet in Wilmington, DE. So I went to the dealership, saw the car, and agreed to pay their asking price if a major steering problem was fixed (steering was making a loud popping/grinding noise). The salesman agreed to fix it before delivery; however, the used car sales manager had another idea. He wanted me to buy the car “before” fixing it and then come back in a few weeks and he would fix it for free. Now, there was something wrong with this picture. First, the car was being sold as a GM Certified Used Car and something was dramatically wrong with the steering? GM’s 117 point check includes a check of the steering for “noise” so how did this car get by that inspection? Well, I finally figured it all out! This dealership was going to use the GM Certification Program to fix the car “after” I bought it (knowing that the car did not qualify as a GM Certified used car). In my opinion, this is outright FRAUD and I have reported it as such to the GM Certification Program and they are investigating this dealership as we speak. The real icing on the cake was when they tried to “pressure me” into participating in this fraud, and after “refusing to participate”, the used car sales manager “cursed my wife and I out” as we walked out of the dealership. In fact, he was cursing so loud, we could hear him all the way to our car! In closing, I can only say that I hope they are on the GM Dealership List for closure because they do not deserve to be a Certified GM Dealer!
