These guys actually told me that they had no red 2010 cars because of the 2011 Japanese tsunami…..when I asked to explain how an event in the spring of 2011 could effect production of 2010 cars, they had no answer and tried to spin it that the tsunami was in 2010. It went downhill from there, and I was truly stunned how much they didn’t want to see me a car, until I realized that since my credit score is over 800 and I didn’t want to finance, they had no way to scam me. Stay away….far, far away from these losers.
Went with my daughter to look for a used car for her. We had a trade-in. Saw a car she liked, saleman and “manager?” corralled us into office. They test drove our trade in. Car we looked at was priced way too high. Pressure was intense. Wanted to leave. Would not give us back keys to OUR CAR as they continued sales pressure! Almost had to call police. Horrible experience.
The Kerbeck Corvette body shop manager Joe Giordano is Inconsiderate and Unprofessional.
Let me describe my recent experience with Joe…..
1. I have a 1973 Corvette that was rear-ended in a 3 car accident on Sept 17, 2010 that resulted in minor damage to my Classic Corvette.
2. I called the Kerbeck Corvette body shop to see if they would give me an estimate of the cost to repair the damage.
3. I made it clear that it was a 1973 Corvette and that I had to drive from Toms River NJ to Atlantic City to get the estimate.
4. Joe Giordano told the receptionist (by the name of Jovanna) that yes he would provide the estimate for the 1973 Corvette.
5. On Friday Sept 25th I drove 120 miles round trip (cost approx. $25 for gas) to meet with Joe.
6. He looked at the car and said he didn’t think he could give the estimate since the parts for a 1973 weren’t in his database.
Now this guy is supposed to be a body shop expert (and Manager) and he just realized that the parts weren’t in his database!
7. I appealed to him since he had said he would give the estimate and that I had driven from Toms River based upon his commitment.
8. He agreed to prepare an estimate but that he would have to do some extra work and look-up the parts in some catalogs.
9. All he needs to do is spend a few minutes preparing the estimate – but the only response I get is that he is very busy! Two weeks???
10. Finally when I insisted that he give me the estimate by Friday he hung-up the phone on me.
11. I appealed to a Kerbeck manager Randy Byard to intercede on my behalf – but he later admitted he didn’t have much dealings with the body shop and the final answer was that Mr Kerbeck told him that they didn’t give estimates on cars more than 12 years old – that they would only do the work on a time & materials basis. I told Randy that I was looking for an estimate for the insurance company – not a guaranteed price from Kerbeck AND didn’t he think that Joe Giordano “the body shop manager” would know about this policy. Then Randy insulted me by suggesting that I only wanted the estimate so that the insurance company would send me the money but I really wouldn’t get the car repaired (I think Joe Giordano gave him this idea). Bottom line – I never got the estimate!
I drove all the way from Philadelphia to Atlantic City toinspect a 2010 Cadillac Escalade advertised on Kerbeck, AC’s weekendinfomercial for $43, 900 after discounts. When I arrived, I was escorted to the“Escalade Section” and saw the identically advertised Escalade (same Marooncolor, same millage) but was told by the salesman that the advertised Escaladehad been sold earlier the same day, and, the price of this “twin” Escalade(with the exact same mileage and options) was $60,000 dollars. Then, I wasescorted to the air conditioned Cadillac showroom where I thought I was on theset of an old Seinfeld episode. After disclosure of my high FICO scoreand several attempts at “bait and switch”, the salesman actually used theclassic sitcom lines, “How much would you like to pay?” and “How can I get youinto this car today?” (By this time, the salesman had insisted that I testdrive a beautiful 2010 turbo-charged SRX crossover; their price: $54,000; atleast $10,000 more than any other dealer-priced SRX I had visited and inspected(same options); at least $10,000 more than the virtual “build your ownCadillac” on line(same options).
Had I purchased any car from Kerbeck, I had planned tofinance through my credit union. Kerbeck, however, offered me the their ownfinancing competitor as follows: If I purchased the 2010 SRX at $54,000, Icould get the fabulous deal of $8500 down and $850.00 per month for 72 months.WOW, WHAT A DEAL! I think that works out to $69700 for a $54000 auto; the sameauto would have cost about $43000 at any other reputable Cadillac dealer
Then, as the salesman saw that I was disgruntled andpreparing to leave, he rushed to bring over and introduce his “sales manager”who looked to be about 22 years old. He told me that indeed, I could purchasethe original maroon Escalade at the advertise price ($43,900); that the “deal”with the original purchaser had “fallen through”. By this time, I was speedingup the Atlantic City Expressway, headed for Philadelphia at a dangerouslyexcessive speed while my cell phone was ringing off of its virtual “hook” withmessages from my salesman to turn around; that the Escalade was mine, ready togo, at $43,900.
ARE THESE PEOPLE NUTS? Are they aware that people havecomputers and at least a high school education?
I took my 2008 Cadillac CTS in for recall service. When I got my car back the driver’s seat was not working. Specifically, the seat would not move forward or backward. The seat was working just fine when I took the car in for the recall service. Kerbeck Cadillac refused to give me a free loaner car, refused to fix my car for free and did not have parts available to fix my car. It took overnight to diagnose the problem and then would have taken another overnight waiting for parts to come in. What kind of service is that? I will never buy another car from Kerbeck Cadillac and I certainly will never have my current car serviced at Kerbeck Cadillac. I choose not to risk my time or money again. BEWARE of Kerbeck Cadillac.
I first contacted Kerbeck through the internet and was given the best price of any dealer through the internet. I then set up an appointment with the General Sales Manager Joe Viviani to take a look at the new CTS. I came in just a few minutes late and Mr. Viviani was there waiting for me with the CTS I requested. He then gave me a salesman to show me the car while he did all of the figures. By the time I was back inside the numbers were all done and beat any other dealer by at least $75 a month. The paperwork was done in minutes and I was out of there in under 2 hours. I couldn’t be happier and I will definitely go there again.
