I wasted 90 minutes on what should have been an easy deal.
I worked with Linda Schrader online before coming into the dealership. She quoted me via email a price based on GMS, with additional discounts. We also discussed a specific number for a trade in, verified by the Black Book app on their site, which she confirmed she would stand by. We had a deal in writing and verbally. She wasn’t working the night I could make it in, but assured me John Eichorn was aware of the deal and would take care of me.
When I walked in, no one greeted me and when I asked for John, I was told where his office was and that he was “around”. After waiting, I asked another employee to page him. I waited quite a bit longer only to have to see that he had returned to his office, not even bothering to seek out who paged him. He then quickly shoved me off on another salesperson.
Once the vehicle was identified, we went back to the office to do the paperwork. This is where it all went south. They told me the GMS pricing was higher than Linda’s quote. I agreed since she told me she was quoting below GMS. I showed the salesman and John the emails from Linda. They didn’t care. John also undercut her trade in quote by 2k. At this point we now had a 4k difference from the original terms and no one cared. They didn’t even care to contact Linda because it didn’t matter what she told me, they weren’t doing the deal.
John didn’t care that his employee put something in writing and he wouldn’t back it up. So much for reputation. Barely an apology from him as I walked out the door having wasted a night.
The next day after contacting the general manager, I received an email apology and an offer to honor the original quoted price. Too little, too late.
After leaving two dealers that were only interested in selling a car now I stopped by Weber on my way home expecting the same treatment. I was by now not in the mood to be hassled or pressured. I met David Matthews and could not have been more pleased. He answered all my questions and did not push when I mentioned I wanted to stop back with my wife. When I returned the exact car I was looking for was waiting for our test drive. Needles to say I purchased my wife’s new car and can’t think of anything that could have made the experience better. I have already recommended David to friends at work and would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a car.
Having just had a new baby I needed to buy a more family-friendly car. ( I was currently driving a convertible) I was interested in an Equinox with leather and a sunroof and wanted to test drive a 4 cylinder versus a 6 cylinder. The salesman told me that since it was a ‘family’ decision the company wants to only let me test drive when my husband was present! I laughed and told him this would not work for me, he complied half-heartedly and let me test-drive. The ONLY reason I did’t tell him that his behavior was highly offensive and sexist and walk out was because I was paying a babysitter to be home with newborn just so I could car shop. I would NEVER do business with this firm. I strongly feel if my husband had walked in and said the same thing this salesman would NEVER have required his wife to be present. I didn’t have the heart to tell this guy that when I bought my last car, I walked into Plaza Motorsp, made a deal and wrote a personal check–all within an hour and all by MYSELF!!! –In addition, when I relayed this story to my mom she said her best friend had the exact same experience at Don Brown and did walk out.

Had a 30,000 mi maintenance performed. Vehicle service took 2 hours, and was explained to me beforehand by Bob Ohmart, my Service Advisor. I can tell the difference in performance after the de-carbonizing was performed, and since I tow a trailer I also had the differential serviced along with the extensive 30K list. Was finished when promised, all things performed as promised and paid my money to a very pleasant woman named Midge. Would definitely recdommend this dealer.
Ads all boast “Best Buying Experience You’ll Ever Have”. Took that with a grain of salt after buying cars all my life, However, I truly was treated with respect and honesty and did leave feeling that I was given a truly wonderfull and honest experience. I would recommend them to anyone. My daughter and son have also purchased there and feel the same.
