It was the best car buying experience I’ve had in a very long time. Ray was very courteous and thorough. I was very pleased with how quick the process went from the time I entered to my pick up of my car. Ray went through the whole car with me and my wife and answered all my questions before leaving.
This is the second Malibu I have bought from Bob Johnson in two years. There was no doubt in my mind about going back to them. In fact, I didnt look anywhere else for a car. Jerome Flemming, the salesman, was instrumental in me returning for a second vehicle. He is knowledgeable and professional in assisting his clients. The service department is top notch. Really, there was no reason for me to shop around. I will buy my third car from them when it is time.
Went for service. Was told this would take 10 minutes and after 2 hours and multiple insults the job was complete. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP !!! Service department people were rude and demeaning to female customers
I have bought a brand new 2008 Malibu back in April with the electro shock rust preventer. I have also taken my car there for all its oil changes and tire rotations, where they do a 27 point inspection. One of the inspection points is the battery life. I took the car in on a Monday for an oil change with this services and battery register as being good levels. On Wednesday my battery for my car died as I was then late for work. I came home called the dealer ship and asked how this would happen if the battery was good battery life on Monday, response I got was the weather. This is not true as I have a heated garage that is at 55 Fahrenheit in the winter. I took the battery out on Thursday to go buy a new battery from Pep-Boys and came home to install it. My radio would not work as this is a safety feature if the radio was stolen. Who will want a factory radio. With this situation I had to take it to the dealer pay 94.00 to get the radio unlocked with a unlock code. And I mentioned to Rob service manager about this 27 point inspection and how do I know the other 26 points are being inspected. He said you will have to believe that they are, How can u have faith in this dealer with this previous experience. The several other things occurred as the most up-to-date situation. On Friday 2/17/12 my service airbags light came on and I took it in to service Sat 2/18/12 waited 5 ½ hrs for them to return the car after fixing the airbag light and steering issue that I had. I get home 30 min later service airbag lights come on again, matter of 30 min. I called the dealer and they said sorry and to bring the car in on Monday 2/20/12 I took the car back in and they have to replace the passenger seat airbag sensor. I do not feel safe in my car I am unpleased with the way Rob the service manager and Dave F General manager of the dealer ship. This place is a joke and will NOT recommend…
I do apologize after looking at the recpits and figuring out that i had a mistake with the charge for the radio unlock cost. as they told me it was a blowen fuse that caused this and chagred me under $50.00… I have also talked with rob (service manager) and were all squared away. sorry once again
I contacted Bob Johnson Chevy by the internet. They responded promptly and gave me thier best price with out even asking. I shopped the price and no one I mean no one was close!! When I went to finalize the purchase Anne Lakis was ready and prepared for me. 20 mins later I was done. I even came back in 2 hrs and picked up my new car the same day. Now folks that’s service and I highly recommend them to all of Rochester and Monroe County
This place has to be the worst repair shop I have ever been too, first they wanted to perform a diagnotic which cost 96 dollars then they told me my batter was dead and charged me 45 dollars for them to put it in.
I would suggest going to another gm dealer before bob johnson I will never do business with them again and will tell all of my friends and family to stay clear of that place.
Holy jumping jock straps can these guys make promise after promise and not deliver one of them. I went to buy a truck and was told of special pricing that only seemed to make things worse since I didn’t know what the price was. They didn’t show me the invoice as I told, didn’t give me the discount I was told I would get and then I was criticized for not recognizing a good deal when it was made. What was wrong with me for not accepting their deal? Only about a small matter of over $3000. I bought my truck somewhere else, saved money and a headache. I guess some salemen are just meant to live up to their low expectations. Backwords and backwoods. Typical of a Billy Bob.
My problem was resolved by the service manager, Phil-he was very professional and understanding, he actually cares about his business. So, if you ever run into any problems just ask for the manager and he will absolutely make things right! Again I am very happy with the service manager! A+ to the service manager Phil!
The Worst Dealership service I have ever experienced; Breach of Contract!
I brought my car to get something fixed, and they allegedly sayed it was fixed and charged me $700.00 …the next day the car was even in a worse condition. Thus brought it back and they wanted us to pay $400 more and saying that they don’t know how to fix one of the issues that we were charged for. So we refused because it should’ve been done in the first place, and requested the $600 back since they did not fix it the first time, thus leaving them $100 for the diagnostic. However, they are not complying with us, they are ignoring my phone calls, and this is leading to legal action!
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE LOCATION, they rip you off without fixing the car so you can come back and pay more…and they still don’t kow how to repair it. Mechanics must not have a real college degree, they don’t know how to do anything!
I agree with u this is by far the worst dealership for a chevy experience.
Bob Johnson Chevrolet does not treat their customers as though they are important or if they are the only ones they are servicing.
We were looking to buy a 45,000 truck and we wanted specific options included in the vehicle. Joe made no effort to locate us a truck that we wanted. He instead showed us a compariable model.
We looked at this model. When we said we liked this model, however we would like to have 17″ wheels, not the 16″ wheels. Joe made a snoty comment “Well, you can add 20″ wheels afterwards for all I care”
Is this how they treat all their potentinal customers? Is this how their sales people are trained?
We believe we were treated this way due to us being upfront about our discount. We receive a supplier discount for GM vehicles. At that point, he did not want to help us find the vehicle we are looking for, just tried to rush us out for a test drive and force a purchase. After stating we did not like the wheel size and a few other options, he still tried to push a truck that we didnt fully like on us. After 2 hours of truck viewing and questions about add ons and what we were looking for in a truck, his sarcastic, negative attitude turned us off to Bob Johnson.
We purchased the truck from another local dealership that took the time to locate a truck we wanted and that would add the options we wanted.
Bob Johnson does not value their customers.
Bob Johnson delivered my vehicle absent a window sticker and after assuring me the contract reflected the GM employee discount pricing I had been approved for, I drove off with the vehicle. After multiple requests for a window sticker, 3 weeks later I received one and was suprised to find they had charged me $37.84 over the sticker price (retail) anf failed to give me the GM Employee discount pricing which was almost $2500.00 less. GM Confirmed the dealership was paid the discount amount.
Bob Johnson said we had made “side” & “verbal” deals contrary to what the signed contract stated etc.
We now have complaints filed with the BBB, the attorney General as well as GMAC, GM & Chevrolet.
What is the most ironic about this is that I was purchase/leasing my 3rd brand new vehicle from them since 2004 and they basically stole my employee discount and thus far have refused to correct this.
here is what there website says

I just wanted you to know that I love to help with your automotive needs, even if you just have questions. No purchase is necessary, however it’s fun to say yes, let’s do it.
God’s Blessings,
Please………..I would think twice about making a purchase there unless you have a lot of free time to file complaints, an extra few thousand laying around that you can be conned out of and you have a really good lawyer.
Truck was in for inspection. Came out ok. 2 days later red light in dash goes on. I checked it, and the power steering fluid was dry. Ok, I refilled it myself. Then the other light goes on. The gas cap was wrenched. Point being. The fluid level was not checked per the inspection. The doors are never oiled by them despite complaints to GM for decades now over a bad design. And, the emissions control should have been caught when they inspected the car. So, at times they are kids at work. And only that. They upsell the service end. Saled dept good. Phil is good who oversees the maintainence dept and stands behind the customer for the most part. But, the techs behind the computers are hired typists in white shirts and know nothing.
I purchased a car about three years ago and everything ran smoothly until the sale was final. I was assured that I would receive the stock rims to my car because the salesman’s “buddy” was the one who traded the car in. Winter came and still no rims. I ended up just purchasing other rims for winter tires. Three years later and I have yet to see them. I went back to the dealership to see the employee to see if I could get his “buddies” phone number so I could see what was going on and he refused to give it to me . He said he would call me if he heard anything trying to brush me off and then I asked if he even knew who I was which he did not remember so how was he supposed to contact me. All I was looking for was an answer which i still do not have. The second issue I had was the tint on the windows. We just wanted to know if they were legal and he said he brought them to get tested and said they were fine. Three weeks later i got pulled over because the tint was not legal. BUYERS BEWARE!!! They care about you during the sale and apparently not after. Satisfied with the car but not the way agreements were handled. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!!!
We went to Bob Johnson to see Carol Harrington who came highly recomenned. We bought a Chevy Equinox in white and we love the car, We had no back and forth which I hate and were treated very well. I would return to buy my next car there. We were done in about an hour and I think that was great. Picked up the car a couple of days later.
