I purchased an xc70 and leased an xc90, both from Volvoville. They will be my last. The xc90 absolutely the most expensive SUV I had ever owned. I have had to replace two sets of tires and brakes rotors. Was told it is because the car is so heavy. Coming off a Navigator, I could not believe this. Then told it was due to them both being “soft” for better safety, and not to expect more than 20-25k miles. Should have been told this at the lease signing as this is a very expensive fact. Lastly, plastic trim on driver seat by the controls snap, as well as the dvd plastic trim holder. Again, not covered. Was told price of plastic door trim, about90/part,but would have to pay for diagnosis of at least an hour( 119/hr) to even find out cost of dvd plastic. I have never asked for a thing from Volvoville. This is the first time I asked them to at least diagnose how much the dvd plastic would be, then I would pay for installation and parts. No is all I recieved, and that the manager is on vacation. Regional manager does not talk to the public. Too bad you become the “public” instead of “loyal customer” the minute you ask for anything from Volvoville. Never again.
My wife was in need of a new vehicle. Our 1992 Bonneville had given us it’s all. IMHO one of the best series of cars Pontiac ever made.
In 2006 on the way home my family and I were about to pass Volvoville of Massapequa and decided to stop in. We just wanted to see what the cars were going for during their big sale time. We have always liked the Volvo for it’s design and most importantly their big name for safety, but had thought the price was above what we wanted to pay. Like most all I’d rather have a tooth pulled then have to sit down and negotiate a new car.
Well we meet with Peter Fearon a salesmen. His very curtious and non pushy attitude allowed me to take the next step to sit down and go over the figures and not just say “I’m just lQQking” and walk out. We found the S60 AWD Turbo to be more affordable then we had thought and before we left we owned a new Volvo. It’s funny how 2 other families we know from the local sports each got the same car on about the same time.
My wife loves the turbo as she is getting on the parkways. Gives her the security she was always lQQking for in a car where prior she rarely drove the parkways nervous about oncoming traffic. It had made her a better driver and givien me piece of mind. Yes I do love driving this car. During the past 3 years we had service performed there and were always satisfied with their service and attitudes.
Here it is 2009, 3 years later. We were thinking about upgrading to the next size car. We lQQked at others in the price range. After the driving the S80 AWD Turbo and the finalizing the dollars it was ours. The other’s were either too over priced or didn’t have what the S80 had for the same money or more. This car is sweet.
I highly recommend Volvoville to anyone serious about a car with their families safety in mind, a car that gets respect anywhere you go and don’t mind performance in a car. Thanks again Peter. As a famous person once said….We’ll be back..
I would avoid this dealership at all costs. Service depat damaged my car and Dealership refused to even acknowledge thir mistake. Then they literally went to a verbal war with me. There are plenty of other honest Volvo dealers on Long Island. Avoid Volvoville. They are anything but honest.
